ABOUT US
CEO of Young Uniques Africa Miss
Tanyi Maureen Atieno
Today our focus continues on seeingchildren become educated, healthycitizens who share their faith in Jesus
Christ.
Young Unique is a non-denominational Christian organization that equips childwith knowledge, physical well-being, spiritual growth and social skills thro
educational programs and local and international partnerships.
We are working in a more deliberate way than ever, to assist families and indivials who are ABOUT TO BE HOMELESS, by growing our day services and p
nering more closely with other great organizations in Kenya. And we are expandour children’s and teen ministries to help prepare the children of our homel
families to live a different life...and break the cycle of poverty and homelessness
their generation.

Education is simply the soul of a society as it passes from one generation to another. Through our organi-
zation( Young Uniques Africa) we ensure that, each and every child gets quality education.
We have built several schools e.g. in Bungoma, Mombasa, Uganda, Tanzania and South Africa. This Edu-
cation means a lot to children, because that’s where the foundation of their future begins through acquired
knowledge.
Education is the key to unlock the golden door of freedom. Its our obligation to make sure that the children
achieve their dreams and take them step by step all the way.
A healthy child learns better, is happier and has a positive outlook on life. Young Uniques Africa focuses
on community health issues as some of the most efficient use of funds and the best way to impact quality
of life.
Water, sanitation, personal hygiene are all integrated into our school projects. Teaching the best way to
wash your hands is a simple but effective method to save lives. Safe drinking water is a major impediment
to health in many of our project areas, so water is a key element in our health efforts.
Our goal is make sure that every child has safe drinking water, adequate sanitation and is monitored to as-
sure that they are thriving.
Children getting an opportunity to learnand acquire knowledge that they always
hoped for, thanks to the Donors for their
generosity.

ABOUT US
The children of Young Uniques Africa now live in a loving home because of
our generous sponsors. This year more than half of our children have a spon-
sor, covering the cost of their care. But more help is needed. We hope to
have each of our children matched with a sponsor, and cannot take more
children into our home until we are confident we will have the financial re-
sources to support their care. We can accommodate 300 children, given the
funds. We welcome your help. Here’s how you can be involved:
Sponsor a child
Our sponsorship program began not only to secure financial support for each
of our children, but also to build a personal connection between each child
and his or her sponsor. Our home manager and house mothers confirm that
the children benefit greatly from interacting with their sponsors. It gives
them an important connection to the world beyond their village.
So far, generous sponsors have supported more than half of the 300 children
living in Young Uniques Africa the Some have done so as individual donors,
taking on a full sponsorship on their own, but others have participated as
contributing donors, donating what they can to a collective sponsorship.
We pledge to provide all sponsors with a personalized communication from
their sponsored children, at least once a year. This summer, all existing spon-
sors received a piece of artwork from their sponsored children.
The children’s Home
We wish to welcome more orphans to the home. We have a capacity to house
200, and there is a long waiting list. What is needed is further funding to give
us the confidence that we can sustain the bigger number beyond the current.
We did not wish to rush at expanding the intake until we felt confident that
we have what it takes to do an excellent job. From what we have seen and
from what we hear from those who visit we have actually built a model insti-
tution, where the children blossom – socially, academically and physically.
We are busy at Young Uniques Africa creating the best possible environ-
ment for our children. There are many ways for you to be involved in the on-
going work of . From the outset of our work in Uniques the overall purpose
has been to improve the quality and standard of life of ALL of the Uniques
villagers, and not just the children who live in the Home.
Our sponsor’s gave hope to theyoung children, to be educated and
have a reason to live.

Partner
Already, we’ve had a number of volunteers express interest in traveling to Kenya to work
with the community members in Young Unique Africa. We are very excited about the pos-sibilities of partnerships and “voluntarism,” but we do not yet have an established process
for taking advantage of these resources. We do know that we’d like to match potential vol-
unteers with ongoing projects in Young Unique Africa , and we vet all proposed volunteer
visits through the dedicated people in the village who know how best to match resources to
existing needs. If YOU are interested in traveling to Young Unique Africa to see how you
can help, please complete the PARTNER form and we will contact you.
