what the company stands for to its consumers the term "corporate social

responsibility" became popular in the 1960s and has remained a term used

indiscriminately by many to cover legal and moral responsibilities Some critics

even say CSR is merely a window!dressing or an attempt to interrupt the role ofgovernment as a watchdog over powerful multinational corporations

#ut on the other hand csr of a company was is and will be a very important factor of

maintaining the social image the stability and the reputation of the business$

federation realized that csr is a vital step which needs to be ta'en to ensure their

survival in the economy and also develop Russia as a whole

implementing various policies inspired from the western business models which

were focusing on increasing the transparency in the business to gain the trust of the

consumers and also ma'ing signi-cant investments in various sectors li'e

infrastructure and education .u'os also started targeting the overall population

instead of &ust the local consumes it targeted the national consumers by conducting

programs and publishing things in /nglish rather than the local language #ut these

steps were also criticized by many indicating that they were &ust being adopted to

hide the companies ta violations and frauds and mislead the government
