Baptisms: Arrangements must be made by parents through the Rectory Office to schedule baptisms and arrange for Pre-Baptism classes. All parents expecting to baptize their first child are to attend Pre-Baptism classes.

РОЗДУМИ МИТРОПОЛИТА СТЕФАНА НА ВЕРБНУ НЕДІЛЮ Глухота й сліпота є страшними людськими трагедіями, але глухота і сліпота духовна є ще

більшою трагедією. На Вербну неділю Єрусалим був сліпий і глухий. Його люди не

розпізнали справжньої місії Ісуса. Більшість у натовпі очікували революціонера і

завойовника, який здійснить їхні сподівання і поможе реалізувати націоналістичні

надії. Їхні душі були незворушні. Через кілька днів натовп людей змінить свої наміри і

буде вимагати розіп’яття Ісуса. Учні розбіжаться й сховаються. Петро тричі відречеться

від Ісуса. Уявіть собі, яка самотність оволоділа Ісусом.

У кожного в житті виникають моменти Вербної неділі. Наш Господь навідується до кожної

душі. Є моменти, коли ми відчуваємо близькість з Богом. Ми відчуваємо як Він торкається

нашого життя. Ми можемо чути Його. На жаль є також моменти, коли ми сліпі й глухі на

Божі відвідини. Ми нечутливі до Його наближення. Це втрачені можливості, особисті

трагедії. Ми стаємо замкненими, перейнятими щоденними турботами, не рішаємося

заризикувати собою і відповісти на присутність Ісуса Христа і Його запрошуючу любов.

На Квітну неділю ми отримуємо благословенні вербові гілки, як символ нашої відданості

Христові. Пам’ятайте, що перший крок був зроблений Ісусом назустріч вам і мені Його

досконалою любов’ю й жертвою на хресті. Нехай ваша відданість виражається в ваших

словах і діях в житті, якими ви проголошуєте: «Осанна! Благословен, хто йде в ім’я

Господнє!» Дозвольте вашій любові до Ісуса Христа щедро проявлятися в вашому

відданому поклонінню в вашій парафіяльній родині в Його Церкві. Нехай ваша жива віра

поможе іншим прозріти і почути, коли Господь і Спаситель Ісус Христос навідається до них

у щоденному житті. Самі живіть миром Ісуса Христа і діліться ним з іншими, які

потребують чути обіцянку Христа про безконечну радість та мир в Ньому для всіх, хто

вірить і йде Його дорогою! Оберіть життя великодньої людини!

METROPOLITAN STEFAN ON PALM SUNDAY

Deafness and blindness are great personal tragedies, but deafness and blindness of the soul is more

tragic. On Palm Sunday, Jerusalem was blind and deaf. Its people did not recognize the true mission

of Jesus. Many in the crowds wanted a revolutionary and conqueror who would fulfill their expecta-

tions and help them realize their nationalistic hopes. Their souls were unmoved. In a few days, the

crowds of people will change its heart and will call out for the crucifixion of Jesus. The disciples will

flee and hide. Peter will deny Jesus three times. Imagine the loneliness felt by Jesus.

In each of our lives, there are Palm Sunday moments. Our Lord visits every soul. There are mo-

ments when we feel close to God. We feel Him touching our lives. We can hear Him. Regretfully,

there are times when we are blind and deaf to God’s visits. We are insensitive to His approach-

es. These are missed opportunities, personal tragedies. We find ourselves hiding within ourselves and

within our day-to-day concerns, hesitant to risk ourselves to respond to Jesus Christ’s presence and

His inviting love.

On Palm Sunday, we receive blessed pussy willows as a symbol of our commitment to Christ. Re-

member that the first commitment was made by Jesus for you and for me with His complete love and

sacrifice on the cross. Let your commitment be expressed through all your words and actions in life,

crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed is He Who comes in the Name of the Lord!” Allow your love for Jesus

Christ richly expresses itself in your faithful worship with your parish family in His Church. May

your enthusiastic faith help others to shed their blindness and deafness to the visits of our Lord and

Savior Jesus Christ in their daily life. Live the peace of Jesus Christ personally and share it with oth-

ers who desperately need to hear of Christ’s promise of unending joy and peace with Him for all who

believe and follow His ways! Choose to live as an Easter person!

за 66 миль на захід від Клівленду. Там

знаходиться одне з найстаріших місць для

прощ на середньому заході, засноване в 1850 році і

присвячене Страждальній Матері Божій. Від нашої

парафії буде їхати комфортабельний автобус. В вестибюлі

можна записатися і оплатити поїздку. Вартість – 20 $ на

особу. Спішіть, бо число місць є обмежене, так як з інших

парафій люди також записуються.

Розклад прощі: 10 год. ранку – відправлення від собору

Святого Йосафата.

12:00 год. – сповідь:

1 год. дня – Літургія. Проповідники: Отець Степан

Паливода і отець Михайло Дроздовський.

2:30 год. – обід.

3:30 год. – Молебен до Пресвятої Богородиці. Після

PALM SUNDAY PARISH BAKE SALE

In keeping with our parish tradition, St. Josaphat

Cathedral Parish is holding a Palm Sunday Bake

Sale today in the Men’s Club room. Stop in for the

bake sale after Liturgy! Thank you in advance for your help

and generosity.

HOLY THURSDAY DIVINE LITURGY

On Holy Thursday, April 13th, the Divine Liturgy

of St. Basil the Great with the Washing of Feet will

be celebrated at 11:00 AM with many priests from

our Eparchy. We invite all parishioners to come

and take part in this beautiful service.

PARISH EASTER DINNER

Our St. Josaphat Parish Easter Dinner will take place

on Sunday, April 23rd at 12:30 PM. Traditional Easter

food and a hot meal will be served. There will be

entertainment including a performance by our children.

You may purchase tickets at the rectory office Monday

through Friday during regular business hours. The last day to

purchase tickets is Thursday, April 20th.

Tickets are being sold today at the Palm Sunday Bake Sale,

April 8th and 9th and in the Cathedral vestibule.

Tickets are $20. each for adults and $8. for students, age 6

through 14. Children age 5 and under (accompanied by an

adult) are free but must have a complimentary ticket.

NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR

PYSANKY RAFFLE

If you would like a chance to win the beautiful Pysanky Easter

egg (worth $150), made by Vera Kap, which is on display on

the Tetrapod, buy a raffle ticket in the church vestibule. The

raffle tickets are $2.00 each.

The drawing will take place at the Easter Dinner on Sunday,

April 23rd.

The Apostleship of Prayer invites you to a special bi-lingual

service in honor of the Mercy of Our Lord on Thomas

Sunday, April 23 at 3:00pm here at St. Josaphat

Cathedral. Join our clergy for this uplifting moleben to

“Christ the Lover of Mankind” which will also include

the veneration of the icon of Our Lord’s Divine Mercy, the

recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet and Holy Anointing

-Myrovania. Let us pray together and open our hearts to

receive the unfathomable graces our Lord promises on this

to their 50th Anniversary Luncheon and Program to be held on

UKRAINIAN WOMEN’S LEAGUE, BR. 8 Ukrainian National Women's League of America (92 years of

donations on Palm Sunday with partial proceeds going to aid

the wounded soldiers & their families in Ukraine & those

Thomas Sunday for the children of the fallen Ukrainian

DEANERY PILGRIMAGE

On Saturday, May 6, 2017, there will be a bus

from St. Josaphat Cathedral for our Deanery

pilgrimage to The Sorrowful Mother Shrine

(4106 State Road 269, Bellevue, Ohio), 66 miles

west of Cleveland. The cost to ride the bus is $20.

Seating on the bus is limited so get your reservation in early.

The Shrine is one of the oldest pilgrimage places in the

Midwest, founded in 1850 and dedicated to the Sorrowful

Mother of God. Pilgrimage Schedule:

10:00 AM - Bus departs from St. Josaphat Cathedral

12:00 Noon - Confession

1:00 PM - Divine Liturgy with homilists Very Rev. Canon

Steven Paliwoda and Very Rev. Canon Mykhaylo Ddozdovsky.

2:30 PM - Dinner

3:30 PM - Moleben to the Blessed Virgin. After the service, the

bus will return to St. Josaphat’s.

There are icons of the Ukrainian martyrs of the 20th century at

the Shrine. You can see photographs of the Shrine by visiting

Seat reservations for the bus will be sold in the Cathedral

vestibule or during office hours at the rectory office.

The pyrohy workers wil be pinching pyrohy on

Tuesday, April 11th and will be selling pyrohy on

Wednesday, April 12th from 7:00 AM until sold out.

Pyrohy Sales will then close for a much needed Easter break

and will re-open on Thursday, May 4th, 2017.

У 1935 році, коли наша Українська-Католицька церква Св.ап.Петра і Павла придбала землю у м.Парма по вулиці Hoertz rd, вона заснувала новий цвинтар для усієї нашої української громади.Через роки наш цвинтар став останім пристанищем для багатьох наших померлих українців. У сьогоднішньому нашому зверненні, ми звертаємося до усієї нашої української громади із проханням укласти попередню угоду із нашим цвинтарним офісом, щодо майбутніх поховань на нашому єпахіяльному цвинтарі Св.Петра і Павла. Усі бажаючі можуть придбати собі, або комусь із своєї родини, місце на нашому цвинтрарі, або в нашому мовзолею. In 1935, when the congregation of Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church purchased land in Parma, OH, they established and developed a beautiful cemetery for our Community. Over the years, we have come to know this cemetery by many names, but in reality it continues to serve all Christian (Ukrainian) families in this area. We all have a vested interest in preserving the dignity and beauty of our Ukrainian Cemetery. At this time, we gently remind our Community that making your Pre-Need arrangements provides reverence and peace of mind to you and your loved ones. If you haven’t done so already, purchasing a plot or crypt brings security and reassurance that all the details have been taken care of. If you and your family would like to discuss details such as pricing and availability, you may contact the Cemetery Office for an appointment – Office# 440/843-9149 (Monday through Friday). In addition, the Cemetery Office will again host a special mausoleum “open house” on Saturday, June 3 (10:00am to 12:00nn) which coincides with Pentecost weekend. Sts.
