Officer Wohlt characterized the community spread of the disease as moderate. Taking this counsel into ac- count, the elders and pastor decided to reduce the number of ribbon covered pews in the sanctuary to every other pew. We will recognize our 2020 High School Graduates Sunday, July 26 during the 8:15 a.m. service.

“Do not pray for an easy life; pray to be a stronger person. Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers but for powers equal to your tasks. Then the doing of your work shall be no miracle, but you will be the miracle. Every day you shall wonder at yourself and the richness of life which has come to you by the grace of God.”

SCHOOL NEWS

The school theme for the 2020-2021 is “Praise God” from Psalm 103 1

“Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name..”

“Sponsor a Student” How do you support St. Paul Lutheran Church and School? Is your support found in regular church attendance? Do you attend the special functions at St. Paul? Do you attend bible study or help with Sunday School or VBS? Do you serve in a leadership role at St. Paul? Do you faithfully give to support the missions of St. Paul? The “Sponsor a Student” program will give con-gregational members a chance to assist the fami-lies and students of St. Paul in another way. Un-like financial aid, this program will simply allow a congregational member to sponsor a student without the paperwork of applying for financial aid. Members can sponsor a student for a month, a semester, or an entire year. The amount of con-tribution or commitment is decided by the spon-sor. This commitment could range any range. Do-nors would remain anonymous. During the 2019-2020 school year, over $2,500 was donated to the Sponsor A Student Program. Specially marked donations can be dropped off in the school or church office any time. Please consider this program as a way to help a student receive a Christian Education at St. Paul Lutheran School. Anyone interested in donating to this worthy cause can bring dona-tions to the school office.

VBS Vacation Bible School is something I look forward to every year. I enjoyed participating as a student, and that energy and enjoyment has remained through my teenage and adult years as a vol-unteer. I’m sure many of you have fond memories of attending and/or volunteering at a VBS in the past. This year’s theme is Rainforest Explorers: Jesus Leads the Way. In our lives, we may feel as though we are lost, afraid, or unsure of what to do. We may even feel that we must find our own way, even though we know that’s impossible. Thankfully, Jesus our Savior knows what the right path is for us, and He is there to lead us. Students at VBS will learn how Jesus leads us through the following five accounts from the Bible. Day 1 - God Rescues Noah (Genesis 6:17-22; 8) Day 2 - God Gives the Commandments (Exodus 19:18-20; 20:1-21) Day 3 - Jesus Calls His Disciples (Matthew 4:18-22; 9:9-13) Day 4 - Jesus Heals Ten Lepers (Luke 17:11-19) Day 5 - Jesus Visits His Disciples (John 21:1-14) Students will also experience fun songs, skits, crafts, games and snacks; all while still learning important ‘take home points’ about Jesus and how He is our priceless treasure. VBS will be July 6-10 at 9:00-11:30am. We look forward to a week of fun and faith together. In Christ, Deaconess Intern Sara McPike

THANK YOU St Paul Lutheran for the thoughtful retirement gifts. I'm proud to be a part of the St. Paul Family. I've been inspired by the staff, students and congregation. I started here as the part time custodian in 2002, then in 2007 I became the head custodian. The years flew by as I watched the children grow. Even though I'm retired from full time work here, I'm looking forward to using the talents I've been giv-en to continue helping wherever I can. This is the day the Lord hath made, Let us Rejoice and be glad in it. Connie Klotzbuecher CANCER SUPPORT GROUP AT ST. PAUL This group is for patients, survivors and caregivers. I strongly encourage people who are newly diag-nosed with cancer and their caregivers to join a cancer support group. The one here at St. Paul Church meets the second and forth Saturday of the month at 9:00 a.m. for about an hour or you can join one on line. I joined one through facebook in January, it has 30,000 members worldwide. I do see lots of questions, venting, rants and blessings. Have Faith OVER Fear of cancer. Stay strong and remember to be humble. Kim Bartel-5 year Ovarian Cancer Survivor.

OUR CHURCH IS TO BE SOLD Our church is to be sold! Yes, our church is to be sold! No, we are not about to lose our building through foreclosure or repudiated debt. However, our church must be sold to the city and county. It has been planted to wield an influence beyond its membership and walls. Thus, we are presented with an enormous challenge. Our church must be sold to the unchurched! There are scores of people in our community who would attend our church and join us in the Lord’s service if we would bother to sell our church to them. How much is our church worth to you? How much do you value its ministry? How much do you value the Christ it proclaims? As a member of this church, you are selling your church to others every day. Are you selling it short? Has it helped you to the extent that you’re willing to sell it to others? Will you be enthusiastic in talking about your church? Will you share your church with others who have no idea what they’re missing? Take our church seriously and talk to people about what our church has to offer to them.
