4 . P O S I T I O N H I P - B E L T

The hip-belt shall be positioned over the hips,

and the pressure should act as shown by the red

arrow, to secure that the position reached in step

3 is kept over time

3 . P O S I T I O N T H E P A T I E N T

It is vital that the patient is positioned

as far as possible into the seat. There

are several techniques to achieve

this. Whilst using a lifting-sail, lower the

patient as shown by the red arrow.

When positioning manually, try adjusting

the person into the seat, and feel with

your hand until you are sure the patient

is in the correct position.

Correct positioning is vital for the seat to function!

The hip belt should apply pressure downwards.

M A I N T E N A N C E

Check for wear and tear Always check fixation points, attachments and positioning straps and

belts for wear prior to use. Accessories mounted on the seat such

as head-rest, armrest, footrest and more, should also be checked

regularly and tightened if necessary.

After delivery adjustmentsSome minor adjustments and custom changes can be done to the seat

after delivery. These must be performed by Ergoseat or in agreement

with one of our therapists. If we are not notified, we cannot track

changes done to the seat and this inflicts on our warranty to you.

C L E A N I N G

Daily cleaning

◙ Wipe away ordinary stains using a damp cloth.

◙ See cleaning tag on each cover.

Upholstered covers ◙ The seat has removable plastic convers pholstered in a durable

textile. Hand-washing is recommended, but the covers will usually handle machine washing well. Use maximum of 40 °C, and be sure to turn the cover inside out before washing. Use maximum 40 °C and a mild washing program.

◙ The upholstered covers are marked with washing in-structions and are individually numbered.

◙ The washing instructions are placed at the top of the cover.

Incontinence covers

◙ Removable incontinence covers may be machine washed at 60 degrees Celsius, but should not be tumble dried.

◙ The incontinence covers are antibacterial and allergy tested.

T R A N S P O R T

During transport in car or bus, the wheelchair should be secured. In

addition the user should be secured normally in the car. The following

illustration shows how to attach the Spider manual wheelchair. Electric

and other manual types wheelchair have a variety of methods for

fixing the wheelchair during transport.

Please read up on the laws and regulations for transport of disabled

and their wheelchair that is valid in your country.
