• A direct object is the person or thing that receives the action of a verb.
• To avoid repetition, direct object nouns are replaced by a direct object pronouns.

• Placed before the conjugated verb
• Me and te becomes m’ and t’ before a vowel sound
• Enclosed in the negative expression
• Me becomes moi in the imperative form
• Me is enclosed inside the negative expression in the imperative.

7. The direct object pronoun le, la, les can replace people and things.

8. The le and la become l’ and l’ before a vowel sound.

• EXCEPTION: No agreement with the past participles in the passé composé.
