    What wiII. be the water temperature of a hot water cylinder 300 liters capacity, heated at 60°C, -after 3 consecutive showers,-knowing that for each shower we need 75 liters at 43°C, and the coid water temperature is 20°C?

    Calculate the boiler capacity for a villa including 4 floors, with neating loads as follow:

    -1st floor= 20Kw, 2nd floor= 21550Kcal/h, 3rd floor= 85000Btu/hr, and 4th floor= 1 SOOOJ/s

    Exercise 1: (Spts + lOpts + lOpts + 20pts = 45points)

    Say an office building of 10 floors. Each· floor is composed into 4 offices where we have for

    each office 1 WC for men and one for women, and each WC includes 1 water closet and 1

    lavatory. The office area is around 1 OOsqm, and the total floor area is around 500sqm where I OOsqm are considered as passages, lifts, shafts, etc ...

    a) Calculate the total daily consumption for the above described building k.t1owing that the occupancy for offices is 10 persons I 1 OOsqm

    b) Draw the section view and the plan view for

    the concrete water tank located in basement

    floor showing all required reservations. The required

    volume is for 5 days consumption. (Consider the

    tank width Sm, and the basernent height= 3m.)

    c) The water distribution system is designed to be

    by gravity. Calculate the required static head of

    the lifting pump from basement floor up to roof

    water tank, knowing that the pump flow= 0.6L/&

    and the friction loss j=O. lm/m

    d) Calculate the pipe-diameter:s for each branch of

    the gravity riser. to allow minimum residual
