Chère Madame, cher Monsieur,
Après le succès des quatre premières éditions, la Métropole Rouen Normandie organise à nouveau cette année les Visites d’ateliers d’artistes. Amateurs, professionnels ou collectifs, près de 200 artistes – peintres, sculpteurs, graveurs, artistes multimédia, photographes, céramistes et calligraphes… – de plus de 30 communes de la Métropole ouvrent leurs portes à cette occasion. Nous les en remercions chaleureusement, et notre territoire peut être fier de cette diversité, de ce foisonnement.
Ce grand rendez-vous culturel de la rentrée est en lui-même une rencontre : entre l’engagement de la Métropole, d’une part, au service de la qualité de vie grâce à l’animation culturelle de son territoire ; et d’autre part l’intérêt toujours grandissant du public pour les coulisses de la création, son univers secret. Au cœur de lieux parfois insolites, les visiteurs pourront approcher la création à la fois comme processus matériel et expérience humaine. L’interrogation sur les conditions d’apparition de l’Art qui se noue alors vient ici redoubler le questionnement du monde qui se joue dans le processus créateur.
Amateur éclairé ou simple curieux, néophyte ou passionné - à l’occasion de ces visites, chacun pourra se glisser un instant dans l’intimité de ces lieux où naissent les œuvres : moment privilégié de convivialité, de découverte et d’échange avec les artistes qui auront à cœur de faire partager leurs techniques, leurs sources d’inspiration, leur sensibilité...

À l’heure où les artistes d’aujourd’hui vous ouvrent leurs portes, le musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen vous propose de découvrir les vues d’ateliers de ses collections. Sujet récurrent dans l’histoire de l’art, l’atelier d’artiste - lieu de création et de formation – invite à s’interroger sur le regard que l’artiste porte sur lui-même et sur son histoire parfois surprenante.
