PREPAREDNESS ACTION TAKENProvision of nutrition services in three communities in Daraa (Hrak, Tafs, and Moraba) and four communities in Quanitera (Breiqa, Ein Eltineh, Ghadir Elbostan and Qarqas).

During Jan 2017 a total of 2,120 under 5 (1,083 boys and 1,037girls) were screened for acute malnutrition. Among them 53 were diagnosed with moderate acute malnutrition (23 boys and 30 girls), and four with severe acute malnutrition (2 boy and 2 girls). The detected cases enrolled in the therapeutic nutrition programme and received the required nutrition curative interventions. While among the 142 PLW screened for acute malnutrition, 37 women were diagnosed with acute malnutrition and received the required treatment.Preventative Nutrition services were also provided, where 271 boys and 273 girls between 6-59 months were bene�ted from blanket supplementary feeding through receiving lipid based Nutrient supplements to prevent acute malnutrition , while 145 girls and 160 boys 6-59 months received micronutrient supplementation to prevent and treat micronutrient de�ciencies.Additionally 421 PLWs received counselling services on infant and young child feeding practices.
