et des voiles, s’ils sont de grands vaisseaux qui allient

le confort à la performance, c’est à Michel Dufour qu’on le doit.

Visionnaire, précurseur, il fut parmi les premiers à comprendre

que la mer offrirait la plus belle évasion, le plus beau refuge,

dès le moment où les voiliers seraient à la fois agréables

à diriger et agréables à vivre.

Michel nous a légué ce qui est aujourd’hui un fleuron

de l’industrie nautique française. Mais plus encore,

il nous a légué une profonde compréhension de ce que doit être

un voilier: l’une des plus formidables sources d’assouvissement

de ce qui s’appelle la soif de vivre.

Yachts today are more than just hulls with sails,

performance and we owe all this to Michel Dufour.

A visionary, a precursor, he was one of the first to realize

that the sea would offer a wonderful escape, a terrific refuge,

once yachts could become both enjoyable to command

and pleasant to live on.

Michel’s legacy is now the pride of the French yachting industry.

But more than that, he has passed on to us an in-depth

1964 Michel Dufour, ingénieur et navigateur, crée son propre chantier naval là où il est né : à La Rochelle.

1965 Il imagine le mythique Arpège, audacieusement moderne, qui sera construit à 1500 exemplaires.

1973 Premier constructeur de voiliers de série, Dufour se voit décerner le prix de l’exportation.

1995 Dufour révolutionne l’industrie nautique en lançant le concept du voilier tout équipé.

2004 Lancement de la gamme de voiliers hauturiers Grand’Large.

2006 Cinq Grand’Large sortent de nos ateliers : les Dufour 325, 425, 485, 525 et 365 élu Voilier de l’année.

2010 Le Grand’Large Dufour 405 est élu Bateau européen de l’année.

2012 Renouvellement de la gamme Grand’Large avec 4 nouveaux modèles. Lancement du 380, 410, 450 et 500.
