The present term at our Bible Institute finds the missionaries of S. E. AsiaEvangelizing Mission busy teaching,. Currently we are engaged in concentrated B^lishclasses for our ten students- Each student receives special English lessons which aretailored to fit each need and present level of, English comprehcjision. Even our twiceweekly chapel periods are conducted in English; by the students themselves. StrongChristian leadership is the backbone of the Church of Christ, and the hundreds of>churches in Burma, N, E. India and,Thailand need leaders who have been taught in aBib le -cen te red school. We see th e t remendous t a skof training Christian leaders, teachers and translatorscorrec t doct rine so they in turn can t ea ch o ther s whoare hungry for the Good News. We pray you can alsosee and understand th e need to t each Chr i s t i annationals in an in-depth study of God's Word. Please continue to support our effor ts here inChiengmai.

Part of our busy schedule includes language study. Igave a theology test last week, also, (and have the papersyet to grade) and then to nry surprise I had to go to_ _Bangkok for two days and three nights to clear the six up;of vegetable seeds from the ilhternationsa Disaster Ernerge^Services, In., through customs. We have been extren.3lybusy preparing them for distribution. We have lots of helfrom the students, but we have lots of seeds, too!I am back to teaching Thai lessons today after 3:'e;t'Urg with the seeds yesterday and have an all afternoon-business meeting. In addxtion, Laferiasked us all to write a letter for him to print in the "Seamstress , so I have ta-.eaof tha t too. . *Meanwhile, we are busy making-plans for our dormi-building which is needed for our rapidly growing, student bod^ _Blu^r^nts , ,been completed and city approval for construction has beenbrought in and, Lord willing, we hope-to have it under.-;ay ^classrooms, auditorium, library, offices and dormitory space for over thirty staden....present we have only enough funds to construct the foundation and fr^ethe additional money needed to complete the building will be provided soon. We wiohxpress our sincere thanks for your prayerful and financial support thus fa''- ^might better understand the responsibilities the Lord has given each of us to spread theood News to a l l the world. Our new term at the Bible Institute is progre^ wenow have twenty college .^e students (the most recent came from Bangkok) f^n-tj^e and

are doing full-time teaching and full-time Bible Study. The Mission alsowelve hostel studentschildren between the ages of ten and seventeenwho are studyingin "Thai schools. These young people are from tribal villages in Thailand where education is not available tothem. It is our hope that after these young people receive their primary and secondary education some willwant to become a part of the Bible College student body.At a recent meeting, Peter Sutjaibun, Daniel Kalnin,Paul Puller and I set some goals and directives towardwhich we would like to see the school strive. Cur mainobjective will be to enroll Thai national Christians, whilein addition making the school available to students from

her countries. At present our student body consis+.s oi four Inngungo gi-oups Ciiin, lasu,-and Thai, With the probability of working with even more in the near future, thecessity of teaching in a common language caii be seen. English the international languageThaithe national languageare natural choices. The study of English also offers^udents the key to a vast storehouse of books and material that are not written in theirlanguage. With a greater knowledge of English they will be better able to translateBible l i tera ture into thei r mother tongues.Today we have no school so we are going to pack seeds all day. We are dividinginto small packets and they will be delivered to refugees from Laos end Cambodia,

tribal people of Thailand, and Christians in Burma. We thank God for the seedsso for the arrival of the used International Harvester tractor that was donated for missionrefugee work. Unfortunately, due to some mishandling in shippiiig, the tractor wasmaged and we have found repairs time-consuming and costly. But with repairs nearly finwe are anxious to put it to use.I wi3JL be going to Bangkok July 15 for month's study of the Bible in Thaiin preparations'for the'fourth grade tept in Novembe}?, When I return it shouldn'ttoo long, before the arrival of our new baby. Geri has been blessed \:th a healthymonths of'pregnancy and we are both wishing the next two months will pass quickly.esse continue to :pray for her health. June 24th marks Charlie's last day in first gradethe Ihterriational'School. Because of the month break in April due to heat, his schoolishes iateir th^ most in, the States. The favorite pastime of Eric, our two-year-old,

watching Thai T. V. v/ith pur landlady, eating rice and catching lizards. Both boysfiiieht-Thai with Eric preferring Thai to English, both in language and in food.Lately we have been looking for a slightly larger house that coald accommodategrowing family and at least four students. We ask that you please be praying with usa new home "Will be found soon so we can move before the arrivaD. of the nevj baby.We are a^ously looking forward to visiting you personally next August (1977),ut until" we do return we must continue to communicate through these letters.
