　宮城教育大学は、半世紀を越す歴史を有する教員養成単科大学で、全国に多くの優秀な教師を輩出してまいりました。教師には教科専門力と共に、児童・生徒理解力、学級経営力、多様さを認める姿勢、しょうがいを抱える子どもへの配慮など様々な資質並びに的確な対応が必要とされます。教員養成には、人間の核となる部分を磨く、いわゆる全人格的教育が必要であり、本学はそれを誠実に実践してきました。本学の教員は学生との距離が近く、良い意味でフラットな関係を保ち、学生が興味を持ったことについて、日常的な議論が可能です。多彩な専門分野の面倒見の良い教員が多いですから、分野を越えたフレキシブルなディスカッションにより双方向の生きた学びが実現し、心の深部にまで定着します。これは今提唱されているアクティブ・ラーニング（主体的・対話的で深い学び）に通じるものであり、将来教師になった際、大きな力を発揮します。また、専攻・コースを越えた学生間の交流によりインスパイアされて、留学や海外での教育ボランティアに打ち込む学生も少なくありません。　宮城教育大学は、学部に初等教育、中等教育、特別支援教育の3つの教員養成課程を設置し、大学院には修士課程と専門職学位課程（教職大学院）を備えております。複数の教員免許取得による多角的教育を志す多くの学生が複数の免許を取得して卒業しています。　教育を取り巻く環境は日々変化し、特に昨今特別支援教育についての重要度が増しています。本学では、全しょうがい領域の専門家を教授陣として揃え、相互の連関性をも踏まえ充実した教育を行っており、全国的にも有名です。入学前は特に興味が無かった学生が、入学後、特別支援の授業を受講することにより高い関心を抱き、積極的に学ぶ様子がよく見られます。また、公開講座は現職教員で常に満席です。どの学校現場でも特別支援教育の素養を備えた教師が求められる今、本学の半世紀の実績は他に誇れるものとして自負しております。さらに、特別支援教育を含め、小学校英語教育、いじめ問題への対処、国際理解教育、環境教育など現代的課題に迅速に解決方法を示すための研究組織「教員キャリア研究機構」を2017年設置し、強力にバックアップしています。　2011年3月11日、東日本大震災が起こったこの日を境に私たちの日常は大きく変わりました。学校現場でも多くの児童、生徒が犠牲になりました。一瞬のうちにすべての未来が閉じられた悲しみは、想像すらできないものであり、ご本人のご無念はいかばかりか、そして親御さんの日々は生き地獄とも言えます。教師の最も重大な使命は、子どもたちの命を守ることであります。教室に入れば、教師は何十人の子どもたちの命を預かっていますので、何があっても全員の命を守り抜かねばなりません。本学には防災意識の高い学生が多く、「子どもの命がひとつも失われない行動を取ることを第一に考えられる教師になりたい」「震災で命の大切さを学び、そのことを子どもに伝えたい」との声を受け、2019年4月、新しい「防災教育研修機構」として「311いのちを守る教育研修機構」を発足させました。被災地での実地研修など本学独自のプログラムを展開し、心の奥深くまで確実に到達する防災教育を行います。平成は自然災害の多い時代でしたが、新しき令和の時代において、いかなる災害が起こっても子どもの命を一つも失わない教師を養成し、地域に根ざす教員養成大学としての使命を明確にします。　宮城教育大学は、教職員と学生が共に考え、共に学び、共に悩み、共に進み、共に創造する大学です。宮城教育大学ならではの魅力に是非触れていただきたいと願っております。

Miyagi University of Education is a teachers’ college that has been educating teachers for more than half a century. In addition to having excellent pedagogical skills in their chosen fields, it is essential for teachers to possess the qualities required to appropriately take into consideration the wide variety seen in students’ academic abilities, behavioral management, stances on various issues, and learning difficulties that appear in the classroom. For one to attain such traits, it is imperative to receive an education that develops one’s qualities as a human: a sincere education our university provides to all students. Professors at our university offer a warm, friendly atmosphere in their classes in which students feel comfortable to participate actively in discussions about topics in which they are interested. It is through the everyday discussions held between teachers and students that real learning can occur—real learning that goes beyond simply the focus of the students’ studies to a wide range of fields. This is what we see as the true meaning of education and the way with which our teachers of the future are being involved in active learning: a communicative and deep approach to learning, centered around the opinions and ideas of students. Furthermore, many students are inspired in their studies through interactions among different majors and participating in overseas exchange programs and volunteer teaching experience abroad programs.

At Miyagi University of Education, we have three departments in the undergraduate school (elementary school education, secondary school education, and special needs education) in addition to a graduate school and in-service graduate school. With opportunities to obtain teaching licenses in various fields, many students take on the challenge to focus on various areas of education and many do indeed graduate with multiple qualifications.

The field of education is constantly facing changes, with the area of special needs education, in particular, receiving increased attention in recent years. At our university, we have experts in all fields of special needs education, and we have earned a great reputation nationwide for providing a complete education of the reciprocal relationships among students with various special needs. It is common for us to see students who, although they did not have a particular interest in special needs education at the time of entering our university, become highly motivated to deepen their knowledge and experience in this vital area of education. In this age, when all teachers are required to have a solid understanding of the basics of special needs education, our university is proud and confident of the high level of education we have provided in the past and will continue to provide in the future. In addition to our work in special needs education, the Center for Teacher Career Research was established in 2017 in an attempt to continue providing the most up-to-date training in a variety of modern issues, such as elementary school English education, countermeasures for bullying, international understanding education, and environmental education.

March 11, 2011, was a day that changed the lives of many of us. On that day, too many children lost their lives while still at school. We cannot even begin to imagine the fear and feelings of the children that day, nor the living nightmare that their parents are faced with now as a consequence of the tragedy that, in an instant, tore away the futures of so many innocent lives.

A teacher’s most important duty is to protect the lives of his or her students. While in the classroom, teachers have the responsibility to look after the lives of many children, and so regardless of what may happen, they must do whatever they can to guarantee the safety of those children. At our university, a large number of students have a keen awareness of the importance of protecting children in cases of natural disasters. In an endeavor to develop and strengthen education regarding safety and protection at times of disaster, the “311 Disaster Risk Reduction Learning Institute for Educators” was newly established as the “Natural Disaster Education Center” in April 2019. The Center provides education and support programs as part of practical training to help teachers look after their students both mentally and physically during and after natural disasters. The Heisei Era was a period with numerous natural disasters. During the new Reiwa Era, we will no doubt be faced with more natural disasters. We endeavor to provide first-rate education so that when these times of natural disaster occur, not even one child’s life will be lost.

Miyagi University of Education is a university where teachers and students can think together, learn together, contemplate various issues together, make educational advancements together, and be creative together. 　初等教育教員には、全教科に対応し得るオールラウンドな学力と幅広い年齢にわたる子どもたちの多様な発達段階に応じた適切な指導力が必要です。また、子どもたちを取り巻く環境が変化する中にあって、教員の果たすべき役割も大きくなる一方です。そうした状況に鑑み、本課程では、精選された科目群により、確かな学力と実践的指導力を持つ個性あふれる教員の育成を目指します。

Elementary education teachers must have the ability for appropriate instruction of a diverse group of students in all subjects at different levels and ages of children. In addition, because the

environment surrounding the children is changing, the roles to be played by teachers are increasing. Given these demands, this course is designed to educate future teachers to impart in them a firm

academic and practical background, as well as a rich personality through strictly selected groups of subjects.

　校種ごとに「教科の力」を重視するとともに、「教育実習とそれに直接関連した科目群」を置き、自己の内部で、教科専門科目と教職専門科目とを有機的に結び付けられるよう配慮しています。これは2年次・3年次学生が協働で優れた授業づくりの課題に取り組み、3年次教育実習に結び付けるもので、コミュニケーション能力・協働作業能力・問題解決能力の涵養に寄与するばかりでなく、教科専門科目・教職専門科目に裏打ちされた実践力を育むことも目的としています。　また、「特別支援教育」「適応支援教育」「多文化教育」「食・健康教育」などのテーマごとに、実践的要素を取り入れた「現代的課題科目」を設置し、いま教育現場で求められる現代的課題に柔軟に対応し得る、もうひとつの得意分野を持たせます。　全学必修科目として設置された「環境・防災教育」は、わずか２単位ではありながら、内容を精選し、現代の教育現場で全ての教員に求められる素養を与えます。

　初等教育教員養成課程では、対応する教科の「教科教育法（初等）」との有機的な関連に配慮した「小学校の教科に関する専門科目」を全教科（10教科20単位）、また、所属するコースに対応する教科の専門科目（16単位）を履修させることにより、オールラウンドな教科の力に加えて、もう一つの得意分野を持たせます。

教育課程、系・コースの特色

　幼稚園・小学校教育が人間形成において重要な意味を持つばかりでなく、不登校やいじめ、学業不振、学習意欲の低下、不適応など、子どもや家庭・社会の抱える問題が多様かつ深刻の度を増していることに鑑み、教育及び子どもの本質や特性についての理解を土台として、全教科に対応し得る確かな指導力を兼備して、現代的課題にも柔軟に対処し得る人材の養成を目指します。

　教科の指導を中心とする10コースは、全教科にわたるオールラウンドな指導力を土台に、国語、社会、算数、理科、家庭科、音楽、美術、体育など、小学校の各教科の指導を得意分野とする個性豊かな小学校教員を養成する８コースに加えて、早期英語教育や情報・ものづくり教育など、総合的な学習を中心として教科横断的に柔軟に対応できる創造的資質を持った教員の養成を目指す２コースから成ります。

実践的要素を多く取り入れた授業科目と学年を超えてお互いが切磋琢磨して真摯に学び合う雰囲気の中で、生涯にわたって学び続ける教員を養成していきます。We will educate future teachers who will continue to pursue life-time learning with practical contents in an environment where students learn from and compete with each other earnestly beyond the school year and class subjects.

　中等教育教員には、特定の教科に関する専門的な学力が必要であるばかりでなく、子どもから大人へと変容し始める生徒に、適切に対応し得る指導力も求められます。本課程では、所属する専攻に対応する教科専門の学修を深め、かつ教育現場と大学との往還を促進することにより、確かな教科の力と実践的指導力とのバランスの取れた中等教育教員の育成を目指します。

Secondary education teachers are required to have not only the knowledge of a particular subject, but also the ability to appropriately teach students who are growing from childhood to adulthood.

This course is intended to educate future secondary education teachers with a good balance of firm special knowledge and practical skills by deepening the specialty of the major as well as promoting

frequent visits between the university and educational fields.

We give special consideration so that the students themselves can organically connect subject-related specialty classes and teaching-related specialty classes by emphasizing "the power of

subjects" at each school level and establishing "teaching practice and directly related courses." This means the students in the second and third year jointly work on excellent classroom design

to be practiced for teaching practice in the third year. Not only do they advance abilities for communication, joint work and problem solving, but also practical knowledge based on subject-related

specialty classes and teaching-related specialty classes.

In addition, while establishing practical "contemporary challenges subjects" according to such themes as "Special Needs," "Adaptability Assistance," "Multicultural Education," and "Food

and Health Education," the students shall acquire additional specialties so that they can face contemporary challenges flexibly.

"Special Needs Education Fundamentals" and "Education for The Environment and Disasters" which are required for all students, provide them with the discipline that is necessary for all

teachers in modern schools with selected topics despite the fact that only 2 units are credited.

中等教育教員養成課程Secondary Educa t ion Teacher T ra in ing Courses

10専攻

　国語科の教科専門科目は、国語学・国文学・漢文学・書道・国語科教育の5つの領域から成り、講義や演習を通して確かな専門の学力と実践的な指導力とを育成していきます。4年間の学修は、最終的にはそれぞれの領域に関わる卒業論文として結実させることになります。


　中学校・高等学校の社会科、地理歴史科、公民科の基礎となる専門科目群を多角的・多面的に学ぶことを通して、教員に求められる資質・能力を育成することを目指しています。特に、人文・社会諸科学の歴史研究、比較研究、文献調査、実態調査、統計分析及び授業づくりなどによって培った幅広い教養と視野を学校現場での教育実践に積極的にいかすことができるようカリキュラムと授業方法の改善に努めています。

社会科教育専攻Division of Social Studies Education

　英語教育学、英語学、英語文学、英語コミュニケーション、異文化理解の5つの領域から構成されています。相互に連関し合ったそれらの領域全てについて、単に知識にとどまらないものを身に付け、実践力ある教師養成ができるようにカリキュラムを編成しています。

英語教育専攻Division of English Education

　中学校・高等学校において、数学を教えるための基礎となる、数学（代数学、幾何学、解析学など）及び数学教育の専門科目を学ぶことによって、教員に求められる資質・能力を育成することを目的としています。

数学教育専攻Division of Mathematics Education

　本専攻では、中・高等学校の家庭科教員を養成することを目的としています。衣・食・住を始め日常生活を構成するものごとを科学的な視点で分析・考察し、発展的に生活を捉えることができるようにします。理論に基づいた実験・実習を重視し、実践力と応用力を育てます。

家庭科教育専攻Division of Domestic Science Education

　この専攻では、音楽に関する実技や理論、及び音楽全般にわたる知識の習得に加え、教科内容や教育法についても深く学びます。また、音楽を通して、幅広い判断力や豊かな創造力の育成を目指し、情操豊かで、高い資質や教養を身に付けた学校教員の養成を目的としています。

音楽教育専攻Division of Music Education

　理科の教育内容の柱である物理、化学、生物、地学の各分野を網羅して自然科学を幅広く深く理解しながら、理科の指導法や教材作成などを実践的に修得し、中学校・高校の教員として高い資質と確かな力量を持つ人材の養成を目指しています。専攻専門科目は講義に加え、実験・実習や演習など体験的な学修を重視しています。

理科教育専攻Division of Science Education

　材料、機械、電気及び栽培など「ものづくり」分野そしてコンピュータなど「情報」分野の基礎・基本を学び、さらにそれらを応用・統合する技術力と実践力を磨くことによって、学校教員として資質の高い人材教育を目標にしています。

技術教育専攻Division of Technology Education

　美術教育、絵画、彫刻、工芸、デザイン、美術史・美術理論などの美術に関する各専門分野の教育・研究、及び実制作を行う教員6名により構成されており、美術教育とは何か、また芸術とは何か、という問いを様々な授業や美術活動を通して学んでいきます。

　特別支援教育全般について広く学びつつ、「見えない、あるいは見えにくい」という視覚に障害のある人の教育的支援や医療、福祉などの課題について深く学び、研究していくことができます。


　特別支援教育全般について広く学びつつ、知的障害・自閉性障害・LD（学習障害）・ADHD（注意欠陥多動性障害）・高次脳機能障害などのほか、これらの障害とも関わりの深い不登校・児童虐待などについても深く学び、研究していくことができます。


　特別支援教育全般について広く学びつつ、ろう・難聴等の聴覚障害、吃音・構音障害・言語発達遅滞等の障害、更には障害が重度かつ重複している人の言語やコミュニケーションの問題について、深く学び、研究していくことができます。


　特別支援教育全般について広く学びつつ、慢性疾患や身体機能の障害のある子どもたちへの教育的支援について深く学び、研究していくことができます。


特別支援教育教員養成課程Spec ia l Needs Educa t ion Teacher T ra in ing Courses

　特別支援教育教員養成課程では、視覚障害教育コース、聴覚・言語障害教育コース、発達障害教育コース、健康・運動障害教育コースの4コースの下、障害のある児童・生徒と向き合って、その可能性を引き出し、一人一人異なる様な々思いや願いに的確に応えることのできる教員の育成を目指しています。　本学の特別支援教育教員養成課程は、特別支援教育の対象となる全ての障害種別に対応するスタッフが揃い、所定の単位を修得することで複数の特別支援教育領域にまたがる特別支援学校教諭免許状の取得が可能な、全国でも有数の教員養成課程です。

In the Special Needs Education Teacher Training Courses, with the four sub-courses “Education Course for Children and Adults with Blindness or Visually Impairment,” “Education Course for Children and Adults

with Deafness, Hearing Impairment, or Speech-Language Disorder,” “Education Course for Children and Adults with Development Disability,” and “Education Course for Children and Adults with Health Impairment or

Motor Disability,” we seek to educate teachers who can directly face students with disabilities and tap the full potential of the students while appropriately accommodating their different individual requests and needs.

Our Special Needs Education Teacher Training Courses include faculty members who can provide instruction in all areas of disabilities for special needs education. By receiving the required credits,

students can obtain a Teaching Certificate for a Special Needs School required for multiple areas of special needs education, which is one of the few teacher training courses available in Japan.

　グローバル化・情報化・少子高齢化などの社会構造の大きな変化の中、学校教育現場において直面している問題や課題は、複雑・多様化しています。そのような問題・課題を学校現場とともに地域社会全体のものとして捉え、実践的な教育研究活動を通して解決していく過程の中で、教職大学院の学生である現職教員を中核的・指導的な役割を果たせるスクールリーダーとしての力量を備えた人材に養成します。

高い教育実践力をもつ優秀な新人教員の養成学部卒業生等

「総合的な教師力」を備えた教員を指します。具体的には、①授業展開を軸とした実践的指導力②カウンセリング・マインドを備えた児童・生徒理解力③カリキュラム開発力④学級・学校経営マネージメント力⑤使命感や責任感を持った人間力

　本専修は、スタッフの専門性が極めて幅広いことが最大の特徴です。特別支援教育のほとんどの領域をカバーできるスタッフと授業を揃えています。手作りの授業を心掛け、院生とのコミュニケーションを大切にしています。

　本専修は国語学・国文学・漢文学・国語科教育・日本語教育学などの講義・演習を通して広い視野を持った実力のある教員養成を目指しています。

The Department of Japanese Education offers teacher training programs with lectures and

seminars in Japanese philology, Japanese literature, classical Chinese, and Japanese education.

国語教育専修 Japanese Education

　学校教員としての更なる資質を高める人材育成を目標にしています。特に教育現場での教育実践に重きを置き、大学卒、現職教員、社会人に対し、理論・実技を通して美術教育に深く問題意識を持って研究する場を提供することを目指して、理論・実技の各研究室の特色をいかしたカリキュラムを組んでいます。

The Department of Art Education offers teacher training courses aimed at developing the classroom

potential of school teachers and deepening the understanding of basic theories of art education.

美術教育専修 Art Education

　理科教育専修における教育は、（１）学校現場での教育を強く意識した理科教育的な内容、及び（２）「理科」の中の各分野を深める専門的な内容が共存して成り立っています。大学院の学生は、そのどちらに重きを置くかを自ら判断・選択しながら科目を履修し、さらにそれと並行して、担当教員による指導を受けながら各自テーマを定めて、研究を進めていくことになります。

Contains both (1) scientific education strongly conscious of education in schools, and (2)

specialized in-depth studies in various fields of science, coexistent with each other. Graduate

students determine and choose which of them they put more emphasis on, studying subjects

while they decide their own themes under guidance from their supervisors to do their research.

理科教育専修 Science Education

　本専修では必修24単位の中に、各分野の授業を配置しています。担当教員の専門分野をいかして、英語教育・英語学・英米文学のみならず、異文化理解などの分野にも対応できるようにしています。現職教育講座や関連学会への参加を、積極的に勧めています。

The Department of English Education offers graduate courses in English Teaching

Methodology, English Linguistics, and English and American Literature. The students are

encouraged to take part in academic conferences and research meetings.

英語教育専修 English Education

　本専修は、社会科、地理歴史科、公民科の教育における高度な専門性と指導力を身に付け、教育現場で指導的な役割を果たす教員を養成することを目標としています。

Aims to train teachers who have acquired a high level of expertise in the subjects of society,

geography and history, and civics, and have taken a leading role in schools.

社会科教育専修 Social Studies Education

　本専修は、保健体育科教育学、体育学、運動学、教育保健学などの諸科目を履修することを通して、学校体育やスポーツ実践に関する優れた実践的指導力と専門研究能力を有し、教員やスポーツ指導者集団の中で指導的な立場に立って活躍することのできる人材の育成を目指しています。

The Department of Health and Physical Education offers graduate lectures and seminars

aimed at producing educators who will take a leading role in schools and in local communities.

保健体育専修 Health and Physical Education

　授業は、担当教員それぞれの専門領域に関する「特別演習」、「特論」が設定されています。学生一人一人の基礎力を考慮し、モチベーションを尊重しながら個性を伸ばせるよう、少人数によるゼミ形式あるいは実技の個人レッスン形式が取られています。

The Department of Music Education offers special lectures and seminars aimed at developing

the basic music skills of each student with lessons on an individual and small group basis.

音楽教育専修 Music Education

　本専修は、数学（代数学、幾何学、解析学）及び数学教育の基本的な講義の履修及び選択課題についての研究を行うことにより、広い視野と優れた研究能力を併せ持った、実力ある数学教員の養成を目指しています。

Includes students who come from undergraduate schools and those who are actually teachers. Both

cases have a goal of being mathematics teachers with good abilities who have acquired a wide perspective

and excellent research ability by taking basic lecture courses and studying elective courses on their themes.

数学教育専修 Mathematics Education

　高度で多様化・複雑化した現代社会を生活と技術との関係を通して科学的に把握することを目的としています。そのためには広い分野の専門家が共同でその作業に当たらなければなりません。本専修は技術教育講座と家庭科教育講座の教員が中心となってこの作業を行っています。

Aims to scientifically grasp modern society that is sophisticated, diversified and complicated

from the perspective of the relationship between life and technology. For that purpose, it is

necessary for experts in a wide range of fields to work together. Teachers in the Technology

Education and Domestic Science courses mainly engage in that work.

教育実践・宮城教育大学賞 Miyag i Un ive rs i t y o f Educa t ion Honors Program on Exce l l ence in Teach ing

　本学では、平成18年度に、これから新しく授業実践の事実が創り出されることへの期待、並びに、優れた授業の創出を讃え、日々の授業に携わる人々の励みになることを期待して、「教育実践・宮城教育大学賞」を設け、以降毎年募集を行っております。　応募対象は、全国の小・中、高校、特別支援学校、幼稚園、保育所等に勤務する方、または、各種機関において児童・生徒に日常的に関わっている実践者1名です。　なお、これまでの受賞者は下記のとおりです。

In 2006 Miyagi University of Education established, with the expectation of having actual newly created class training, as well as praising the creation of excellent classes, the “Miyagi University of Education Honors Program on Excellence in Teaching” in the hopes of becoming an inspiration for those persons who are in some way involved with the classroom. Since 2006, the prize has been awarded annually.

Target applicants include those persons working domestically in elementary / middle / high schools, special-needs schools, pre-school, daycare, etc., as well as people who work at various agencies who, in their daily life, deal in some way with children or pupils.

防災教育研修機構「311いのちを守る教育研修機構」311 Disaster Risk Reduction Learning Institute for Educators

目　的 Purpose

東日本大震災被災地における経験や教訓を活かし、教員を志す次世代の若者に震災を伝承するとともに、現職教員に対する研修を通じて「いのちを守り」「ともに生き抜く」防災教育を推進するとともに、その研究成果を日本全国および諸外国に発信します。

Based on the experience and lessons derived from 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, the Institute serves as a national hub where pre-service and in-serve teachers learn about the past disasters, and

promote disaster risk reduction (DRR) education for future generations to acquire knowledge and skills to “protect own lives” and “survive together”. A variety of empirical research is conducted for the

effective implementation of DRR, and DRR trainings and workshops are provided in collaborations with national and global partners.

目　的 Purpose

国際教育研究領域は、「国際化」や「多文化共生」へ対応するための、学校現場や地域社会の多様な要求に応じることを目的としています。そのために、言語・文化・社会的なアプローチから、国際教育に関する基礎研究を行うと同時に、学校現場と地域社会及び大学において、日本人児童生徒・外国人児童生徒・日本人大学生・外国人留学生の相互交流を図ることを通じて、国際教育に関する活動を積極的に推進しております。Research Area of International Education aims at helping and dealing with various requests from schools and local communities so that they can adjust themselves to internationalization and multicultural

coexistence. In order to achieve these goals, the center conducts basic studies on education for international understanding, adopting linguistic, cultural and social approaches. It also promotes activities for

international understanding by supporting mutual exchanges between Japanese and overseas pupils, and college students alike at schools, local communities and universities.

小学校英語教育研究領域では、小学校外国語（英語）活動の「必修化」に伴い、学校現場の多様な支援・研修の要請・要望に応えると同時に、活動実践の研究開発及び理論的研究、英語活動・英語教育と関連する国語教育、バイリンガル教育などとの研究交流を行い、小学校外国語（英語）活動の充実に寄与することを目的としています。With foreign languages (concentrating on English) becoming compulsory in Japanese elementary schools, this Research Center for Elementary School English Education provides support for those teaching English at the elementary school level. At the same time, it conducts research in Japanese education and bilingual education in order to assist in deepening theoretical and practical understanding of English teaching in elementary schools.

就学前保育・教育から小学校教育への効果的な接続について研究します。This area research for the effective articulation between nursery, pre-school and elementary school education.

「探究の対話（p4c）」の考え方を教育現場に普及させるために、実践の支援や研究に取り組んでいます。The Academy engages in research and practice to promote “philosophy for children (p4c)” at school environments.

学校研修会などへの講師派遣、現職教育講座の企画と実践、親や子どもなどの支援の相談、大学生・留学生ボランティアの派遣Staff at this research area visit elementary schools to provide the latest advice on English education to elementary school teachers and parents.In addition, staff, university students and foreign exchange students help support children during their English classes at school.

2. 理論研究分野 Theoretical Research

小学校英語活動の指導法、カリキュラム及び教材の開発に関する研究の企画と実施、小学校英語活動と中学校英語教育の「接続」に関する研究の企画と実施、プロジェクト研究（東北6県英語指導リーダー養成・外国語教育、バイリンガル教育など）の企画と実施、国内外の大学及び研究機関との共同研究・交流などの企画・実施、フォーラムやセミナーなどの企画・実施Staff at this research area continuously research fields such as: teaching methodologies, teaching materials, linking elementary school and junior high school English education, as well as being involved in projects on leadership within the six prefectures of Tohoku, foreign language education, and bilingual education. Our research is conducted with the cooperation of various universities both in Japan and abroad. It also holds regular seminars for teachers to deepen their knowledge about English education.

＜地下鉄東西線＞ Sendai Subway Tozai Line

「仙台」駅から「八木山動物公園」行き乗車、「青葉山」駅下車（乗車時間約9分）「青葉山」駅「北1出口」から大学正門まで徒歩約7分From “Sendai” station, take the Subway bound to “Yagiyama Zoological Park”. Get off at “Aobayama” station (It takes about 9 minutes). 7-minute walk from “Aobayama” station to the University.

＜市営バス＞ City bus

地下鉄東西線「青葉山」駅から「宮教大・青葉台」行き乗車、「宮教大前」下車（乗車時間約2分）From “Aobayama” station on the Sendai Subway Tozai Line bound to “Miyakyodai / Aobadai”. Get off at “Miyakyodaimae” (It takes about 2 minutes).

宮城教育大学まで（青葉山地区） For Miyagi University of Education (Aobayama - Area)

附属学校まで（上杉地区）For Affiliated Schools (Kamisugi - Area)

・仙台駅前仙台ロフト前⑰⑱⑲乗り場から市営バス「旭ケ丘駅」「鶴ケ谷七丁目」「東仙台営業所」行き乗車、「附属小学校前」下車（所要時間約20分） Take the city bus for "Asahigaoka Subway Station" or "Tsurugaya7chome" or "Higashi Sendai Eigyosyo"

at the bus stop 17 or 18 or 19 in front of Sendai Loft store near Sendai Station, and get off at "Fuzoku-

shogakko mae" (It takes about 20 minutes).

・JR仙山線「東照宮」「北仙台」駅から徒歩約10分 10-minute walk from either "Toshogu" or "Kita-Sendai" Station on the JR Senzan Line.

・地下鉄南北線「北四番丁」「北仙台」駅から徒歩約10分 Subway 10-minute walk from either "Kita-Yobancho" or "Kita-Sendai" Station on the Sendai Subway Nanboku Line.
