Les différents types d’accidentsde motos

Ú L’EFFET DE GROUPE : la surenchère liée à l’émulationentre pilotes conduit au dépassement de ses limites. Ú LE CHOC FRONTAL : un véhicule peut se retrouver au milieu de la chaussée au sortir d’un virage sans visibilité et avecquelqu’un en face.Ú L’OBSTACLE INATTENDU : attention ! Vous pouvez trouversur la chaussée un animal sauvage, une pierre ou un photographeamateur. Ú L’INATTENTION : la beauté des paysages n’est pas une excuse, un conducteur doit rester concentré sur la route. Le regardest fondamental car il détermine la trajectoire. Ú UNE VITESSE INADAPTÉE : les routes étroites et sinueuses s’appréhendent posément. Il faut souvent rouler moins viteque la vitesse autorisée pour prendre en compte ces particularités.Ú LES DÉPASSEMENTS DANGEREUX : dans les montées,il y a une grande différence entre les vitesses d’un camping-car etd’une moto. Et il peut aussi y avoir quelqu’un en face. Ú LA NON PERCEPTION : plus petits qu’une voiture et souvent plus rapides, les motards se remarquent moins. Le refus depriorité n’est pas forcément volontaire, mais il peut avoir des consé-quences dramatiques. Ú LA PERTE D’ADHÉRENCE : la chaleur de l’été peut fairefondre l’enrobé, et la présence de gravillons est toujours possible.

Quelques conseils aux motards

Ú VÉRIFIEZ VOTRE CHARGEMENT : trop charger l’arrièrepeut déséquilibrer la moto, utilisez des sacoches latérales ou de réservoir pour les charges lourdes.Ú NE LAISSEZ PAS VOTRE ÉQUIPEMENT AU VESTIAIRE : la carrosserie du motocycliste est fragile, les tongsne remplacent pas une paire de bottes, et le bob a un effet très limitéen cas de choc.

Ú UNE MOTO BIEN ENTRETENUE est un gage de sécurité, elle ne vous lâchera pas lors d’un freinage d’urgence.Ú NE PRÉSUMEZ PAS DE VOS FORCES ! Fatigue et réflexe ne font pas bon ménage.Ú ALCOOL ET PSYCHOTROPE N’ONT PAS LEURPLACE AU GUIDON : l’équilibre est précaire, et la vie fragile ! The different types of motorbikeaccidents

Ú GROUP EFFECT : trying to go better because of competitive-ness between bikers leads to exceed one’s own limits. Ú HEAD-ON COLLISION : a vehicle can be in the centre ofthe road at the end of a curve with zero visibility and with somebodycoming the other way.ÚUNEXPECTED OBSTACLE : CAUTION! On the road, youcan come across a wild animal, a stone or someone taking a picture.Ú DISTRACTION : the beautiful landscapes are not an excuse;bikers should remain concentrated on the road. The eyes are crucialas they determine the trajectory. Ú INAPPROPRIATE SPEED : you should drive carefully onnarrow and winding roads. You often must drive lower than the authorised speed to take into account those particularities.ÚDANGEROUS OVERTAKING : when climbing up a slope,the speed of a motor caravan and a motorbike is different. And also, someone can be coming the other way. Ú LOW PERCEPTION : smaller, and often more rapid thancars, motorbikes are less noticeable. Failure to yield is not necessa-rily deliberate, but the consequences can be tragic. Ú POOR ROAD-HOLDING : in summer, the asphalt can melt,and some gravels can of course be present.

A few tips for bikers

Ú CHECK YOUR LOAD : loading too much the rear part of themotorbike can throw it off; use side or tank bags for heavy loads.Ú DO WEAR YOUR EQUIPMENT : bikers are vulnerable,flip-flops do not replace boots, and a sunhat has a very limited effectin case of impact. Ú A WELL-MAINTAINED MOTORBIKE will guaranteeyour safety, as the brakes will not fail in case of emergency.

Ú DO NOT OVERESTIMATE YOUR STRENGTH! Tired-ness and reaction are not compatible.Ú DO NOT TAKE ALCOHOL AND PSYCHOTROPICAGENTS WHEN DRIVING : balance is fragile, and so is life! Ú ANTICIPATE : be on guard, not to be caught off your guard.Ú FLYING OBJECTS! Lavender does not attract bikers only, italso attracts bees. Ú FRONTALZUSAMMENSTOSS : Nach einer Kurvenaus-fahrt kann sich das Fahrzeug auf der Fahrbahnmitte befinden, ohneweiten Sichtkontakt zu haben und mit jemandem, der ihm entgegenkommt.ÚUNERWARTETE HINDERNISSE : Vorsicht! Auf den Streckenkönnen Sie ein Wildtier, einen Stein oder einen Amateurfotografen treffen.
