A Message from Our Principal November brings with it a morning chill and the promise of winter, as we bring out the jackets and hoodies to keep us warm. Enjoy the good weather as long as it lasts. Reminders… With the school year well under way, there are a few reminders we’d like to share. Please be certain to send a note to your child’s teacher if the routine for going home has changed. Bus drivers will require a note if a student is a guest on their bus, and we won’t allow the routine to change without your permission. Speaking of the bus drivers, we are asking for your help as we teach children the rules of bus safety. It is very important that children remain seated while the bus is moving, but some of our students are having difficulty following that rule as they like to By using the CLES PTO Fundraising Mall when you shop at Amazon, Kohl’s, Macy’s and Walmart, CLES will earn a 2-5% donation on all purchases. Visit www.clespto.com and click on the store name in the Fundraising Mall on the right side of the homepage. You will then be redirected to the store’s website. Then, log in to your store account, shop and pay for your items as you normally would. When you make a purchase, a portion of the purchase price will come back to our PTO. It’s that simple! Any visitor to our site can help earn money for our school. So tell your friends and family to shop through our fundraising mall, too! Happy Shopping! change seats to move closer to their friends. Please encourage them to try their best to remain seated and talk in a quiet voice while riding the bus. A bus without distractions is a safer bus. Finally… The National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) has published a report to parents titled So Many Activities, So Little Time. The report speaks to the great value of extracurricular activities but cautions against an overloaded schedule, which can cause stress for children and parents. It is included on page 6 of this newsletter for your consideration. Happy November!
