This document walks the user through the configuration of the Cx-OneNetwork Configurator software that is used in conjunction with Omron CJ 2HPLCs. It is assumed that the user has a working knowledge of the PLC andCx-One software.

Configuring the Cx-One NetworkConfigurator

1. Start the Cx-One NetworkConfiguratorby selectingStart->All Programs->Omron-> Cx-One->Network Configurator for

Ethernet/IP-> Network

Configurator.

2. Expand theCommunications

Adap tertree and doubleclick on CJ2B-EIP21. ThePLC will be loaded into theEthernet/IP_1 window.Highlight the PLC asshown, right click on it andselectChange NodeAdd ress.

43. In this box, enter the IP

Address of the PLC andthen click OK.

4. Click on EDS Files->Install in the mainwindow to bring up thisdialog box. Navigate towhere the EDS files are

stored on your system andthen double click on themodel being installed.

5. Click on No when it asks ifthe icon should beinstalled.

6. The Acromag device hasnow been added to theCommunications Adaptertree, double click on it toadd it to the Ethernet/IP_1network window. Thenright click on the Acromagdevice and select ChangeNode Address.

7. In this box, enter the IPAddress of the Acromagdevice and then click OK.

68. Double click on the PLC to

bring up the Edit DeviceParameters dialog box atthe right. Then click on theDown arrow to move theAcromag device from theUnregister Device List tothe Register Device Listas shown below.

to bring up the nextwindow.

10. Click on theEdit Tagsbutton to display the EditTags dialog box.

811. Click on In-Consume tab

and then the New buttonto create a tag.

12. Enter 5000 for the Name,adjust the Size accordingto the device and click theRegist button and then theClose button. This is the

Tag, name that theAcromag inputs will beidentified with inside thePLC.

13. Now click on the Out-Produce tab and repeatsteps 11 and 12 to createthe output tag using the

Name 5100 as shownbelow..

13. The In-Consume andOut-Produce tabs of theEdit Tags dialog boxshould now look like thoseat the right.

14. Click the OK button of theEdit Tags box to acceptthe crated tags and thenclick Yes on the box below

15. Click on the In-Consume and Out-Produce tabs to verifythat the tags havebeen correctly enteredas seen here.

16. Click on theConnections tab andthen Double click ontheAcromag Node inthe Register DeviceList to bring up theEdit Connectionwindow.

1217. Enter a Connection

Name. The ConnectionI/O Type, the Input fromTarget Device Produce

Variable, the Output to

Target Device ConsumeVariable and theConnection Type fieldswill all be pre-populatedfrom the EDS file. Set theRPI and Timeout Valueas needed, a minimum of200mS and a RPIx16 isrecommended as astarting point for AcromagDevices. For the InputFrom Target Device

Consume Variable and

the Output to TargetDevice Produce

Variable, select the tagsyou created earlier. ClickRegist and then Closewhen finished.

18. The Edit DeviceParameters windowshould now appear asseen here. Click OK.

19. The configurationmust now bedownloaded to the

PLC. Right click on thePLC image, selectParameter-

>Download.

21. Click on Download afterchanged to Program

Mode.

15 Testing The

Configuration

1. You can test yourconfiguration by usingthe CX-Programmer.Start it by selectingStart->All Programs-

>Omron->Cx-One->

Cx-Programmer.Click on File->New.

2. SelectCJ2H for theDevice Type and thenclick its Settingsbutton.

163. Select CPU66-EIP for the

CPU Type, this may differdepending on which PLCyou have. Click OK.

4. Select View->Windows->Watch to bring up theWatch window. Doubleclick on the first row to

bring up the Edit Dialogbox.

5. Enter 5000, address ofthe inputs, in theName or Addressfield. Click OK.

6. Double click on thesecond row now.

7. Enter 5100, address ofthe outputs, in theName or Addressfield. Click OK.

188. You should now see both

the input and output tagsin the Watch window.

9. You must now bring thePLC online, do this by rightclicking on the PLC entryin the tree and selectingWork Online. If the PLC isnot in monitoring mode,selectPLC->Monitor->Monitoring from themain menu.

10. If your configuration iscorrect, the watchwindow will displaydata being read andsent to the Acromag

device. In this case, all4 discrete I/Ochannels on port 3 ofa 983EN-6012 areactive so the input isreading 0x0F00 Hex.
