   L’approche développée par l’ini-tiative NIPN consiste à renforcer les capacités des pays partenaires de l’UE les plus affectés par la mal-nutrition, avec l'appui des délé-gations locales de la Commission européenne (CE), en matière d’ex-ploitation optimale des données et

informations existantes en lien avec la nutrition, de manière à ce qu’ils puissent mettre en œuvre des poli-tiques et programmes efficaces et définir des priorités dans l’allocation des ressources.

La CE a confié au GEIE Agrinatura (consortium d’universités et orga-nismes de recherche européens dédié à la recherche et l’enseigne-ment supérieur agronomique pour le développement) le pilotage de l’unité de coordination (« Global Support Facility », GSF) qui accom-pagne la mise en place de plate-formes d’information sur la nutrition dans des pays pilotes (Bangladesh, Niger, Ethiopie, Laos, Kenya, Burun-di, Zambie...).

Le GEIE Agrinatura a délégué à Agropolis International l’héberge-ment et la gestion opérationnelle de cette unité de coordination, compo-sée de trois experts internationaux spécialistes des problèmes de nutri-tion et de gestion et analyse de don-nées, accueillis à Agropolis Interna-tional pour 4 ans.

   Le projet d’AgroVallée vise à faire de Montpellier et de sa région, le creuset de l’innovation pour une agriculture méditerranéenne et tropicale durable, être leader en bio-raffinerie du végétal méditerranéen et tropical et développer des lieux concentrant ces ambitions et compétences.

objectifs de L’agRoVaLLéeL’AgroVallée, porte d’entrée unique de l’écosystème régional de l’inno-vation, entend déployer une offre de services, cohérente, complète et concertée pour :- dynamiser les collaborations

recherche / entreprise et créer ainsi les innovations de demain ;

- accompagner à l’international les PME régionales pour vendre les innovations produites sur le territoire ;

- attirer les investisseurs extérieurs au territoire, nationaux et étrangers, pour soutenir la création d’emplois.

Le RôLe d’agRopoLis inteRnationaL dans Le pRojet d’agRoVaLLéeL’Association Agropolis Internatio-nal s’organise pour représenter les acteurs de l’enseignement supé-rieur/recherche au sein de l’éco-système régional de l’innovation qui associe également le monde de l’entreprise et les collectivités terri-toriales (Conseil régional LR, Métro-pole de Montpellier…).

L’initiative « Plateformes Nationales d’Information sur la Nutrition » (NIPN) s’inscrit au sein du Plan d’Action pour la Nutrition de l’Union européenne (UE) visant à lutter contre la malnutrition dans le monde, en cohérence avec les objectifs fixés pour 2025 par l’Assemblée Mondiale de la Santé.

La région Languedoc-Roussillon est l’une des rares en Europe à avoir inscrit l’agriculture et l’agroalimentaire comme domaines de spécialisation intelligente (SRI-S3, dans le cadre du programme européen FEDER 2014-2020).

Ce dossier présente les acteurs scien-tifiques basés en région Languedoc-Roussillon, membres de la communau-té scientifique d’Agropolis International, conduisant des activités de formation, recherche et d’innovation sur la vigne et le vin : des établissements d’enseignement

supérieur et des organismes de re-cherche et dispositifs de valorisation et d’incubation ;

quatorze unités mixtes de recherche (UMR, dépendant de plusieurs organismes tutelles) et groupes de recherche, conduisant des investi-gations dans différentes disciplines scientifiques complémentaires (gé-nétique, physiologie, agronomie, éco-logie, œnologie, économie, sciences de l’information, etc.) ;

trois unités mixtes technologiques (UMT), unités expérimentales et domaines expérimentaux, condui-sant des expérimentations au champ ou en halles technologiques, au service des unités de recherche et des partenaires publics et privés.

ce document a pour ambition d’offrir au lecteur un panorama de l’étendue des compétences en formation, recherche et innovation des acteurs régionaux sur la vigne et le vin.

Sur le plan scientifique, sont présen-tés des exemples concrets, selon cinq grands champs thématiques : analyse de la diversité et du fonction-

nement du génome de la vigne ; conduite du vignoble, pratiques agro-

nomiques, réduction des impacts ; des connaissances pour maîtriser la

qualité des vins ; des approches en sciences sociales

de l’innovation et transformation de la filière ;

relever les défis du numérique pour la filière ;

et un chapitre transversal illus-trant comment l’association de ces compétences permet, à travers d e s p r o g ra m m e s t ra n s d i s c i p l i -naires, de relever les défis de l’adap-tation au changement climatique et de la vitiviniculture durable.

Le dossier illustre également la richesse des partenariats développés par les acteurs scientifiques régionaux avec le secteur académique en France, en Europe et dans le monde, et avec le sec-teur privé, afin de : mener des recherches et des forma-

tions de haut niveau, répondant aux besoins des acteurs de la filière et des consommateurs ;

de favoriser l’innovation.

Le dossier présente également l’en-semble des formations diplômantes (de bac+2 à bac+5) proposées dans le secteur de la vigne et du vin par les établissements membres d’Agropolis International.

création d'un Labex européen upM, laboratoire virtuel avec l'uni-versiti putra Malaysia (upM) à agro-polis international, Montpellier.

Agropolis International a reçu la visite d'une délégation de l'Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) en juillet 2015, conduite par le Vice-Chancelier de l'université, dans le cadre du Memo-randum of Understanding signé pour 5 ans pour la création d'un Labex de l'Universiti Putra Malaysia. Le pre-mier chercheur arrivera à Montpellier début 2016. dans le cadre de l’accord de parte-nariat signé entre l'université de Kyoto (japon) et agropolis inter-national en décembre 2014 pour promouvoir la coopération aca-démique et l'échange d'étudiants, plusieurs actions ont été réalisées à Montpellier et à Kyoto en 2015 :

- 25 étudiants et enseignants de l'université de Kyoto et Meijo ont été accueillis à l'Institut des Hautes Etudes de la Vigne et du Vin (Montpellier SupAgro) pour une formation sur les circuits courts en Languedoc-Roussillon ;

- deux ateliers de travail se sont tenus à Kyoto : « Workshop on Study of Family-run Farming : Varied Forms, Roles and Conditions for Sus-tainability » et « 1st Future Leaders Global Workshop on Social Science of Agriculture, Food and Environ-ment » - Ateliers organisés par l’Uni-versité de Kyoto (Graduate School of Agriculture and Social Sciences and Humanities Subunit), avec la

participation des unités mixtes de recherche montpelliéraines Inno-vation, Moisa, Art-Dev, Gred.

Dans le cadre de l’Année Internatio-nale de l’Agriculture Familiale (AIAF), décrétée par les Nations Unies pour 2014, les organismes de recherche membres d'Agropolis Internatio-nal, en partenariat avec le CGIAR, le Forum Mondial de la Recherche Agri-cole (GFAR) et le Forum Rural Mondial (FRM), ont pris l’initiative d’organiser des Rencontres Internationales sur le thème « Agricultures familiales et recherche ». 235 participants venus de 70 pays, représentants paysans, représentants d'ONG, décideurs poli-tiques et du secteur privé, chercheurs et enseignants se sont retrouvés à Montpellier pour cet évènement. Retour sur des évènements internationaux à Montpellier et résultats

341 personnes de 41 pays ont participé à FSD5/Agro 2015. 5th International Symposium for Farming System Design ‘Multi-fonctional farming systems in a changing world’

Au cours de cette semaine scientifique internationale, organisée à Montpellier du 7 au 10 septembre 2015, sur les méthodes d’analyse et de conception des systèmes de production agricole, 250 communications orales et post-ers ont été présentés. L’objectif d’Agro2015 était de faire le point sur les avancées en matière de méthodes d’analyse et de conception de systèmes appliqués à l’agriculture, en réunissant les meilleures équipes internation-ales du domaine. Cet événement a été orga-nisé par la Société Européenne d´Agronomie (ESA), avec l’appui d’Agropolis International, avec la partici-pation et le soutien de la communauté scientifique régionale : Cirad, Inra, Montpellier SupAgro, AgroParisTech, IAM.M, Université de Montpellier et le soutien financier du ministère chargé de l’Agriculture, de la Région Languedoc-Rous-sillon, de Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole, d’Agropolis Fondation et de l’entreprise Advini.

Organisée par le Cirad, l’Inra, l’IRD et Agropolis International avec le soutien du CGIAR, de l’Université de Wageningen, de l’Université de Californie à Davis, de la FAO et du GFAR, cette conférence a réuni plus de 700 participants venus de 75 pays. Dans la Déclaration de Montpellier rédigée à cette occa-sion, les scientifiques s’accordent sur la nécessité d’un engagement de toutes les parties prenantes, sur le besoin d’interaction entre science et politique, entre scientifiques et agriculteurs, afin de mettre en place les nécessaires transitions agricoles pour faire face aux enjeux du chan-gement climatique.

Le ministre de l’Agriculture, de l’Agroalimentaire et de la Forêt, M. Stéphane Le Foll, est venu à la conférence pour y présenter l’ini-tiative « 4 pour mille » qui sera proposée à la COP21 comme une contribution de l’agriculture à l’atté-nuation du changement climatique en favorisant la fixation du carbone dans les sols.

À l’occasion de ce Forum international de la société civile luttant contre la dégradation des terres Désertif’actions 2015 qui s’est déroulé à Montpellier du 10 au 13 juin 2015, une déclaration officielle des 300 participants (représentants d’organisations de la société civile, scientifiques, autorités locales, officiels de rang ministériel de gouvernements et bailleurs de fonds, responsables d’organisations internationales ou multilatérales) venus de 57 pays différents a été rédigée.

Forum international de la société civile luttant contre la dégradation des terres Désertif’actions 2015

Cette conférence a été co-organisée par un consortium coordon-né par Agropolis International et le CSFD (Comité Scientifique fran-çais de la Déser- tification) du 9 au 12 mars 2015, à Cancún (Mexique), sur le thème : « Changement climatique et dégradation des terres : relier les connaissances aux enjeux ». Les principales conclusions de cette conférence ont été présentées à Ankara en octobre 2015 à l’occasion de la COP12 de la CNULCD.

341 participants from 41 countries attended FDS5/Agro2015—the 5th International Symposium for Farming Systems Design ‘Multi-functional farming systems in a changing world’—held from 7 to 10 September 2015 in Montpellier (France)

2000 experts from 98 countries attended the 27th International Congress for Conservation Biology - 4th European Congress for Conservation Biology (ICCB-ECCB 2015), held from 2 to 6 August 2015 in Montpellier (France)

The conference included 250 oral presentations and posters focused on inter-national scientific methods for agricultural system analysis and design. The overall aim of Agro2015 was to showcase advances in farming system analysis and design methods by bringing together top notch international teams in this field. The event was organized by the European Society for Agronomy (ESA), with the support of Agropolis International and the participation and support of the regional scientific community—CIRAD, INRA, Montpellier SupAgro, AgroParisTech, IAM.M and University of Montpellier—with financial support from the French Ministry of Agriculture, Agrifood and Forestry, Languedoc Roussillon Regional Council, Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole, Agropolis Fondation and the French wine company AdVini.

In the framework of the Desertif’actions 2015 International Forum of Civil Society devoted to combating land degradation and desertification that took place in Montpellier (France) from 10 to 13 June 2015, an official declaration by the 300 participants (civil society organization representatives, scientists, local authorities, government ministry officials, heads of international or multilateral organizations) from 57 different countries was drawn up.

Desertif’actions 2015 International Forum of Civil Society devoted to combating land degradation and desertification

Organized by CIRAD, INRA, IRD and Agropolis International, with the support of CGIAR, University of Wageningen, University of California (Davis), FAO and GFAR, this confe-rence brought together over 700 participants from 75 countries. In the Montpellier Statement drawn up during the event, scientists agreed on the importance of the commitment of all stakeholders, of interaction between science and policy and between researchers and farmers to ensure effective imple-mentation of agricultural transitions necessary to meet climate change challenges.

Stéphane Le Foll, the French Minister of Agriculture, Agrifood and Forestry, came to the confe-rence to present the ‘4 per 1000’ initiative that will be presented at COP21 as a contribution of agricul-ture to climate change mitigation via soil carbon sequestration.

Climate-Smart Agriculture 2015 – The 3rd Global Science Conference on Climate-Smart Agriculture was held from 16 to 18 March 2015 in Montpellier (France), prior to the Our Common Future under Climate Change Conference in July 2015 in Paris, and Paris Climate 2015 (UNFCCC–COP21) to be held in December 2015 at Le Bourget (France)

Co-organized by a consortium coordinated by Agropolis International and the French Scientific Committee on Desertification (CSFD) that was held from 9 to 12 March 2015 at Cancún (Mexico) on the topic ‘Climate change and land degradation: Bridging knowledge and stakeholders’. The main outcomes from this conference were presented at the UNCCD COP12 event at Ankara (Turkey) in October 2015.

As part of the International Year of Family Farming (IYFF), proclaimed by the United Nations for 2014, Agropo-lis International member institutions, in partnership with CGIAR, the Glo-bal Forum on Agricultural Research (GFAR) and the World Rural Forum (WRF), decided to organize these International Encounters on the topic ‘Family Farming and Research’. 235 participants from 70 countries, farmers’ representatives, NGO repre-sentatives, decision makers, private sector stakeholders, researchers and teachers gathered in Montpellier for this event. Kyoto university (japan)

as part of the Memorandum of understanding between Kyoto university (japan) and agropolis international signed in december 2014 to promote academic coope-ration and student exchange, seve-ral initiatives took place in Montpel-lier and Kyoto in 2015:

- 25 students and professors from Kyoto and Meijo Universi-ties attended a training session on short food supply chains in Languedoc-Roussillon Region that took place at the Institut des Hautes Études de la Vigne et du Vin (Montpellier SupAgro)

- two workshops were held in Kyoto: ‘Workshop on Study of Fami-ly-run Farming: Varied Forms, Roles and Conditions for Sustainability’ and the ‘1st Future Leaders Global Workshop on Social Science of Agri-culture, Food and Environment’.

Agropolis International hosted a visit of a delegation from the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in July 2015, headed by the UPM Vice Chancellor, in the framework of the Memoran-dum of Understanding signed for a 5-year period on the founding of a Labex of the Universiti Putra Malay-sia. The first researcher will be posted in Montpellier in early 2016.    The approach developed by the NIPN initiative involves buil-ding capacity of the EU partner countries hit by malnutrition, with the support of local EC delega-tions, to make the most efficient use of existing nutrition-related

data and information, thus ena-bling them to implement efficient policies and programmes and pin-point resource allocation priorities. The EC has entrusted Agrinatura EEIG (a consortium of European universities and research centres involved in development-oriented agricultural higher education and research) with the task of coordi-nating the Global Support Facility (GSF) in charge of setting up nutri-tion information platforms in pilot countries (Bangladesh, Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Laos, Niger, Zam-bia, etc.). Agrinatura EEIG delega-ted Agropolis International with

the authority to host the GSF on its premises and ensure its ope-rational management. GSF com-prises three international experts on nutrition and data management issues hosted at Agropolis Interna-tional for 4 years.
