En 1602, les troupes du Duc de Savoie essayent d’envahir Genève, mais se heurtent à la résistance des Genevois. Plus de 400 ans après, la cité continue de célébrer sa victoire pendant tout un week-end. Du 7 au 9 décembre 2018, la fête de l’Escalade donne un nouveau visage à la ville, entre cortèges, traditions et feux de joie. Le moment parfait pour célébrer l’une des plus anciennes traditions genevoises !
In 1602, the Duke of Savoy’s troops tried to invade the city but met with resistance of the Genevean. More than 400 years later, the city continues to celebrate this victory From Friday 7th to Sunday 9th December, the Fête de l’Escalade gives to the city a new look with parades, traditions and bonfires. The perfect moment to celebrate one of the oldest traditions in Geneva.
