Outlandishly-shaped boulders everywhere on the Pink Granite Coast, sometimes balanced in surprising positions.Evocative rock formations can be found the whole length of the coast, with imaginative names such as the Bottle, the Dice, the Painter’s Palette and Father Trébeurden.

According to geologists, over 300 million years the weather carefully carved the «Precious stone» and the pink granite boulders were formed. It slowly cooled down in the subsoil, which explains its composition (large grains of mica, grey quartz and feldspar). Some cracks divided the rock into parallel piped prisms. Water filtered into them, altered the rock and granite shale was produced as well as this unique landscape with extraordinary shapes.

Here Nature surpasses itself : from the Sillon de Talbert, unique in Europe, to the magnifi-cent beach of la Lieue de Grève via the cliffs of the bay of Lannion, the landscapes of an incredible diversity are the promise of beautiful walks along the coastline.

At high tide or low tide, the landscape around le Grand Rocher, the large rocky outcrop with views over Saint Efflam beach, changes constantly. Take the path leading to the top, climb the steps and go through the forest to arrive at the summit.

Experience a sense of freedom and reflect on how this natural site inspired Breton legends.

« Our towns have character ! »

Travel through time by visiting the Small Towns of Character. First of all Tréguier, historical capital of the Trégor, a town with spirit, generosity and Tréguier emits an aura brought about by the renowned philosopher Ernest Renan from Saint Yves, advocate for the poor and patron saint for advocates around the globe. Stroll the charming streets, seek out the different painters that line the town, gaze at the timber houses, visit the cathedral with a gothic-based style with a hint of roman, enter the cloister which is one of the most magnificent gothic cloisters in France and end your trip with a visit of Ernest Renan’s childhood home, philosopher and writer from the 19th century.

Next up La Roche Derrien, a town built in the 11th century on a rocky headland overlooking the Jaudy estuary. An old fort from the Midde Ages, La Roche Derrien was the stage for many battles, but was also known in the Trégor as the capital of linen weavers, hence its nickname Kapital Stou. The past of the town can be seen through its remains from the Middle Ages : Porte de la Maladerie, Place du Pilori, Venelle des Anglais, Venelle d’Argent, Rue de la Fontaine.
