EinleitungVielen Dank für den Erwerb von Gibraltar X für den FSX. Wie bei allen unserer Szenerien haben wir viel vor Ort recherchiert und fotografiert, um ein möglichst genaues Abbild für den Flugsimulator zu erstellen. Es war uns wichtig, vor allem durch die Foto-Bodentexturen, die ganz spezielle Atmosphäre des Flughafen und der sie umgebenden Land-schaft wiederzugeben.

Ich wünsche Ihnen eine allzeit gute Landung in „Gibraltar“.

Systemanforderungen

FSX:Um in der Szenerie Gibraltar X im FSX möglichst störungsfrei fliegen zu können, benötigen Sie:

Minimum:

• Prozessor mit 2.8 Ghz oder schneller. (mögl. Zweikern Prozessor)

• 920 MB freien Platz auf der Festplatte

• min. 1024 MB Arbeitsspeicher

• DVD-Laufwerk

• 3D Grafikkarte mit min. 512 MB

• Microsoft Flugsimulator X (mit Service Pack 2 oder Acceleration Erweiterung)

FS2004:Um in der Szenerie Gibraltar X im FS2004 möglichst störungsfrei fliegen zu können, benötigen Sie:

Minimum:

• Prozessor mit 2.8 Ghz oder schneller.

• 200 MB freien Platz auf der Festplatte

• min. 1024 MB Arbeitsspeicher

• DVD-Laufwerk

InstallationWenn Sie mit einem Windows Betriebssystem arbeiten, wird das Setupprogramm für Gibraltar X automatisch gestartet. Das Setuppro-gramm installiert Gibraltar X für den Microsoft Flugsimulator X bzw. den Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 (je nach Auswahl.

Nach der Sprachauswahl werden Sie zunächst von der Installationsroutine begrüßt und Sie erhalten einige wichtige Informationen.

Das Verzeichnis des Flugsimulators wird automatisch gesucht und überprüft. Sollte die Installationsroutine das Microsoft Flugsimulator Verzeichnis nicht finden oder Sie möchten ein anderes Verzeichnis vorgeben, so können Sie dieses über den „Durchsuchen“-Button festlegen.

Bevor nun der eigentliche Installationsvorgang beginnt, werden die wichtigsten Daten noch einmal zusammengefasst angezeigt.

Die Installationsroutine kopiert nun im Einzelnen die Daten von Gibraltar X in das Zielverzeichnis und meldet die Szenerie in der Szeneriebibliothek an. Zuvor wird von der Scenery.cfg eine Sicherungkopie erstellt: „Scenery_CFG_Before_GibraltarX_was_installed.cfg“

Deinstallation von Gibraltar XDas Installationsprogramm hat Gibraltar X in der Windows Registry angelegt. Um sie wieder zu deinstallieren, klicken Sie auf den „Start”-Button in der Taskleiste von Windows. Hier wählen Sie dann „Einstel-lungen” und dort „Systemsteuerung”. In der Systemsteuerung gibt es ein Symbol „Software”, welches Sie mit einem Doppelklick anklicken. Sie erhalten eine Liste der installierten Programme, unter anderem auch „aerosoft’s - aerosoft’s Gibraltar X- FSX”. Markieren Sie den Ein-trag „aerosoft’s - aerosoft’s Gibraltar X- FSX” und machen dann darauf einen Doppelklick.Folgen Sie dann den weiteren Anweisungen

Der Flughafen GibraltarWie in der Szenerie zu sehen, wird in Gibraltar ein neues Terminal errichtet. Dies geschieht unter anderem, weil Spanien den Flughafen mitbenutzen wird. Deshalb wurde das neue Terminal bis an die Grenze gebaut und später wird Spanien hier ein eigenes Terminal anbauen. Reisende in die EU können dann ohne Pass/Zollkontrollen zum Flug-zeug auf Gibraltar Seite gelangen. Erst später wird das alte Terminal abgerissen und durch ein Parkhaus ersetzt. Zudem baut man gerade an einer neuen Straße, die nicht mehr über die Landebahn führt. Sie geht unter dem neuen Terminal durch, folgt dann der Grenze ent-lang zu einem noch zu bauenden Tunnel unter der Landebahn 27. Nach Eröffnung der neuen Strasse wird der Autoverkehr nur noch in Ausnahmefällen über die Landebahn geführt. Fußgänger sollen nach aktuellem Stand auch weiterhin die Landebahn passieren dürfen. Unsere Szenerie zeigt das neue Terminal, aber noch nicht die neue Straße/Parkhaus etc. Die gesamten Baumaßnahmen werden bis zur Fertigstellung noch ein paar Jahre brauchen.

Technische Hinweise

Für den FSX:

Auswahl des FlughafensUm einen Flug von dem enthaltenen Flughafen zu starten, geben Sie den entsprechenden ICAO-Code des Flughafen von Gibraltar ein.

Gibraltar LXGB

Anmerkung: Wir verzichten auf einen Eintrag unter „Suche Zusatz-szenerien“, da die Anwahl über den obigen ICAO-Code einfacher funktioniert. Dass Gibraltar X in der Flughafenauswahl nicht unter Zusatzszenerien erscheint, bedeutet nicht, dass es nicht ordnungsgemäß installiert wurde.

Bildwiederholrate (Ablaufgeschwindigkeit)Bitte beachten Sie Folgendes, um eine möglichst schnelle Ablauf- geschwindigkeit von Gibraltar X im Microsoft Flugsimulator X zu erreichen:

• Reduzieren Sie den AI-Traffic auf ca. 30-50% um nicht zu viele Flugzeuge auf dem Vorfeld zu haben, was bei höheren Werten die Systemleistung deutlich reduzieren würde.

• Reduzieren Sie schrittweise die Darstellung der Autogen-Objekte in den Anzeige-Einstellungen.

• Reduzieren Sie die Anzahl der (3D) Wolken in den Anzeige-einstellungen des FSX.

• Schalten Sie im FSX zwischen Fenster- und Vollbildmodus um (ALT+ENTER). Oft kann man eine starke Zunahme der Ablauf-geschwindigkeit beobachten. Finden Sie so heraus, was für ihr System am besten geeignet ist.

Schnellverstellung (slewen)Das gesamte visuelle Erscheinungsbild des Flughafens ist darauf ausge-legt, einem Piloten in der Simulation in Cockpitsicht die bestmögliche Ablaufgeschwindigkeit zusammen mit einem bestmöglichen visuellen Eindruck zu bieten. Eine Betrachtung der Szenerie mittels „SLEW“ bzw. „Schnellverstellung“ ist zwar möglich, führt aber wegen der an einen virtuellen Piloten angepassten Ausblendung von Objekten zu keinem optimalen Ergebnis. Zudem kann es dabei passieren, dass Sie an den Rändern der Landebahn einsinken, da die „harte Oberfläche“ bei der Schnellverstellung unwirksam ist.

AI Traffic (künstlicher Flugzeugverkehr)AFX oder AFCAD Dateien dienen zur Definition der Rollwege von AI-Flugzeugen. Unter Umständen benutzen Sie ein Add-on Programm, das zusätzlich AFX (AFCAD) Dateien installiert (installiert hat). Bitte entfernen Sie eventuell vorhandene andere AFX (AFCAD) Dateien für

den Flughafen LXGB. (Meist wie folgend benannt: AFX_LXGB.bgl oder ähnlich (LXGB = ICAO code für Gibraltar). Es sollten nur die in unserer Szenerie Gibraltar X mitgeliefeten Dateien aktiv sein.

Dynamischer Bodenverkehr (AES Lite) und FSX-Fahrzeugverkehr. Verkehr über der Landebahn.Der dynamische Bodenverkehr von Autos, Bussen etc. auf dem Flughafen ist intelligent gesteuert. Das bedeutet, dass Fahrzeuge sich nähernde Flugzeuge erkennen können und gegebenenfalls anhalten, um sie passieren zu lassen. Diese Technik basiert auf dem von Oliver Pabst entwickeltem AESLite und ist in der Szenerie enthalten.

Der Autoverkehr auf der Landebahn hält automatisch an den geschlossenen Schranken an, wenn Sie starten oder landen wollen. AI-Flugzeuge werden vom Autoverkehr leider nicht erkannt. Mit der NAV2 Frequenz = 108.00 können Sie die Schranken auch manuell schließen.

Schalten Sie bitte den FSX-eigenen Vorfeldverkehr ab, um Überschneidungen zu vermeiden. Zudem steigert dies die Ablaufgeschwindigkeit.

Anzeigeeinstellungen „Luftbild“Das Luftbild von Gibraltar X hat im FSX eine extrem hohe Auflösung von ca. 0,15m/pixel. Um es in der vollen Auflösung im FSX sehen zu können, stellen Sie bitte in den Anzeigeeinstellungen die Auflösung für Bodentexturen auf min. 0,15 Meter. Andernfalls wird das Luftbild nur in einer geringeren Auflösung dargestellt!

Anzeigeeinstellungen „Texturen“Stellen Sie bitte die Auflösung für die Globale Texturauflösung in den Anzeigeeinstellungen auf „Sehr Hoch“. Andernfalls wird unter Umständen eine geringere Auflösung der Gebäudetexturen dargestellt.

FSX, Gibraltar und DX10 PreviewDer FSX besitzt die Möglichkeit den so genannten „DX10 preview“ Modus zu aktivieren, insofern man VISTA oder 7 und DX10 fähige Grafikkarten benutzt. Wie der Name bereits sagt, ist dieser Modus ein „Vorschaumodus“ auf das, was mit DX10 und dem Flugsimulator möglich wäre, wäre er ein fertiges DX10 Programm. Dieser Modus ist leider für Add-on Entwick-ler undokumentiert und besitzt zahlreiche Einschränkungen, die es z.Zt. unmöglich machen würden, eine Szenerie wie Gibraltar X auf dem gleichen hohen Darstellungsniveau wie unter DX9 zu erstellen.

Anzeigeeinstellung „Autogen“Bitte benutzen Sie wenigstens die geringste Einstellung zur Anzeige von Autogenobjekten im FSX. Sollten Sie Autogen ganz ausschalten kann es zu fehlenden Objekten kommen.

Terrain_Max_Vertex_LevelDie Szenerie braucht wegen der feinen Geländeabstufungen in der FSX.cfg einen Terrain_Max_Vertex_Level Wert von 21.(Default 19) Der Installer ändert diesen Wert automatisch. Sollten Sie Fehldarstel-lungen wegen Geländehöhen an der in das Wasser gebauten Lande-bahn feststellen, überprüfen Sie bitte diesen Wert im FSX und ändern diesen ggf. auf 21.

FSXIn order to run Gibraltar X in FSX without any problems your system will have to meet the following minimum requirements:

Minimum:

InstallationWhen using Windows the set-up routine for Gibraltar X will start automatically.

After you have chosen your preferred installation language, the wel-come screen appears and you will be presented with some important information.

The installation programme will attempt to locate the correct path of Microsoft Flight Simulator X. If this path cannot be successfully located or you wish to install to another location you will have to enter the correct path to your installation of the flight simulator manually. In order to do this, click on “Browse” and navigate to the correct path.

Before the installation programme starts to copy the files onto your hard disk, you will be presented with the all installation details.

The installation programme will now copy all of the Gibraltar X files onto your hard disk and subsequently register the scenery in the scenery library. A backup copy of the original Scenery.cfg will also be made (Scenery_CFG_Before_GibraltarX_was_installed.cfg). The neces-sary adjustments for the AI Traffic in Microsoft Flight Simulator will be automatically carried out.

Removing Gibraltar XIn order now to fully remove Gibraltar X click on the “Start” Button on the Windows task bar, choose “Settings” and then “Control Panel”. Here you will see an icon named “Software”. Double click on this icon to open it and you will see a list of all installed programmes. Locate “aerosoft’s - aerosoft’s GibraltarX- FSX”, click once with the left mouse button and then click on the “add-remove” button. The de-installation program will now begin to remove the Gibraltar X files from your hard disk. Entries in the FS scenery library will also be removed.

The Airport of GibraltarAs you can see in the scenery, a new terminal is being built in Gibral-tar. Reasons for a new terminal are quite simple as Spain is interested in using this airport too. The terminal is being built right at the border to Spain so it can be extended on the Spanish side. Passengers bound for the EU will be able to travel without immigration formalities. It will still be a while before the old terminal is pulled down and replaced by a car park. A new road is also in construction to replace the road which is running across the runway. This road will run through a tun-nel beneath the terminal and will then follow the border line. When the road is opened for traffic the old road crossing the runway will only be used on very rare occasions. Pedestrians will continue to cross the runway via this road.

Our scenery shows the new terminal but it is not yet equipped with the new road and car park. The overall construction works at this airport will still continue for the next couple of years.

PerformanceTo achieve a framerate as high as possible within Microsoft Flight Simulator X, please note the following:

• Reduce the AI Traffic to 30-50% to limit the aircraft displayed on the apron.

• Due to the amount of autogen objects in the area switch this option off or reduce it step by step.

• Reduce the amount of visible (3D) clouds in the display settings of FSX.

• Try to switch the FSX to windowed or full screen view (ALT+ENTER). Very often you´ll recognise an extreme change in performance. Find out what´s best for your system.

Slew ModeThe concept of this airport scenery is to present the sim pilot with the best possible frame rate in combination with the best possible view. Discovering this scenery in „SLEW MODE“ is possible in principle but will most probably not lead to a satisfactory result. In addition, it is possible that the edges of the runway will sink in as the “hard surface“ setting is inactive in slew mode.

AI TrafficAFX or AFCAD files are used to set up the taxiway layout for AI traffic. When using an AI traffic addon which installs additional AFX (AFCAD) files for Gibraltar remove any other existing AFX (AFCAD) files for LXGB“Gibraltar“ (probably named: AF2_LXGB.bgl or similar. LXGB = ICAO code for Gibraltar) except the files included in this scenery

Dynamic Ground Traffic (AES Lite) and FSX-Vehicle Traffic. Traffic across the Runway.The dynamic Ground traffic of cars, buses, etc. on the airport is controlled intelligently. Vehicles will recognize approaching aircraft and will most probably stop to let them pass. This technique is based on the by Oliver Pabst developed AESLite which is part of this scenery package.

Car traffic crossing the runway will stop when the gates are closed while you are landing or taking off. AI-aircraft though can not be detected. The NAV2 frequency= 108.00 lets you close the gates manually.

Switch the FSX ramp traffic off in order to avoid overlapping. This will also increase the speed.

“Aerial View” SettingThe aerial view of Gibraltar X has a very high resolution of ca. 0.15m/pixel in FSX. In order to display it in FSX using the highest resolution, adjust the display settings for the ground textures to 0.15 meters. Otherwise the aerial view will be displayed in a lower resolution!

Textures Display Setting Please set the resolution for Global Texture to very high. Otherwise the building textures will be displayed at a lower resolution.

FSX, Gibraltar X and the DX10 PreviewIf you are running FSX under VISTA or 7 and have a DX10-capable graphics card, you have the choice to activate the so called “DX10 Preview” mode.

As the name suggests, this mode is only a preview of what could be possi-ble with DX10 and the flight simulator, if DX10 were a finished product.

At the moment there is no documentation on this mode for add-on devel-opers and has a large number of limitations making it impossible to create scenery such as Gibraltar X in the same quality as DX9 offers.

Display settings „Autogen“Please use at least autogen settings of very sparse. Switching autogen off completely will result in disappearing scenery objects

Terrain_Max_Vertex_LevelDue to subtle terrain level changes the scenery needs a Terrain_Max_Vertex_Level value of 21 at the FSX.cfg.(Default 19)

The installer changes this value automatically but when discovering elevation problems (especially at the runway built onto the water) check the Terrain_Max_Vertex_Level in your FSX.cfg and change it to 21 if other values are present.

PerformanceTo achieve a framerate as high as possible within Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004, please note the following:

• Reduce the AI Traffic to 30-50% to limit the aircraft displayed on the apron.

• Due to the amount of autogen objects in the area switch this option off or reduce it step by step

• Reduce the amount of visible clouds in the display settings of FS2004.

• Try to switch the FS2004 to windowed or full screen view (ALT+ENTER). Very often you´ll recognise an extreme change in performance. Find out what´s best for your system.

Slew ModeAFX or AFCAD files are used to set up the taxiway layout for AI traffic. When using an AI traffic add-on which installs additional AFX (AFCAD) files for Gibraltar remove any other existing AFX (AFCAD) files for LXGB“Gibraltar“ (probably named: AF2_LXGB.bgl or similar. LXGB = ICAO code for Gibraltar) except the files included in this scenery.

AI TrafficAFCAD files are used to setting up the taxiway layout for AI traffic. Possibly you use an AI traffic addon that installs additional AFCAD files for Gibraltar. Dynamic Ground Traffic (AES Lite). Traffic across the Runway.The dynamic Ground traffic of cars, buses, etc. on the airport is controlled intelligently. Vehicles will recognize approaching aircraft and will most probably stop to let them pass. This technique is based on the by Oliver Pabst developed AESLite which is part of this scenery package.

Car traffic crossing the runway will stop when the gates are closed while you are landing or taking off. AI-aircraft though can not be detected. The NAV2 frequency= 108.00 lets you close the gates manually.

Display settings „Autogen“Please use at least autogen settings of very sparse. Switching autogen off completely will cause dissapearing scenery objects

Terrain_Max_Vertex_LevelDue to subtle terrain level changes the scenery needs a Terrain_Max_Vertex_Level value of 21 at the FS9.cfg.(Default 19)

The installer changes this value automatically but when you are disco-vering elevation problems (especially at the runway built onto water) check the Terrain_Max_Vertex_Level in your FS9.cfg and change it to 21 if other values are present.

Requerimientos del sistema

FSXPara poder utilizat Gibraltar X en FSX sin problemas, tu ordenador debe contar con los siguientes requerimientos:

Minimo:

InstalacionAl utilizar Windows el programa de instalacion para Gibraltar X co-menzara automaticamente.

Después de haber seleccionado el idioma de instalacion, la pantalla de bienvenida se mostrara con informacion importante.

El programa de instalacion intentara localizar el directorio donde has instalado el Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Si este directorio no puede ser localizado o lo deseas instalar en otro directorio debes introducir el directorio de instalacion. Para ello haz clic en “Buscar“ y navega al directorio correcto.

Antes que el programa comience a realizar la copia de los archivos en tu disco, veras informacion importante sobre la instalacion.

El programa de instalacion copiara todos los archivos de Gibraltar X en tu disco duro y posteriormente registrara el escenario en la biblioteca de escenarios de FSX. Una copia de segurdad del archivo Scenery.cfg sera igualmente realizada (Scenery_CFG_Before_GibraltarX_was_in-stalled.cfg). Los ajustes necesarios para el trafico AI en Microsoft Flight Simulator seran llevados a cabo automaticamente.

Desinstalando Gibraltar XPara desinstalar Gibraltar X haz clic en el boton “Inicio” de la barra de tareas de Windows, haz clic en “Panel de Control”. Luego en “Agregar/Quitar Programas”. Haz doble clic en el icono para abrirlo y veras una lista de todos los programas instalados. Localiza “aerosoft’s - aerosoft’s GibraltarX- FSX”, haz clic con el boton izquierdo del raton y luego clic en el boton “agregar-remover” button. El programa de des-instalacion removera Gibraltar de tu disco duro. Datos de la biblioteca de escenarios seran removidos igualmente.

El Aeropuerto de GibraltarComo puedes ver en el escenario, se esta construyendo un nuevo terminal en Gibraltar. La razon es que España ha abierto vuelos a Gi-braltar. El terminal esta siendo construido exactamente en la frontera con España para extender el aeropuerto al lado español. Pasajeros con destinos dentro de la UE podran viajar sin pasar por las formalidades de inmigracion.El viejo terminal sera remplazado por un aparcamiento.Una nueva calle esta en construccion para reemplazar la que pasa a traves de la pista. Esta ira a través de un tunnel por debajo de la pista y bordeara la frontera.Peatones continuaran cruzando a través de la pista.

Nuestro escenario muestra el nuevo terminal pero no esta equipado aun. Tampoco se muestran el aparcamiento y la nueva calle.

RendimientoPara obtener el mejor rendimiento en el numero de imagenes por Se-gundo en Microsoft Flight Simulator X, por favor observa lo siguiente:

• Reduce el trafico AI a 30-50% para limitar la cantidad de aviones que se muestran en la plataforma.

• Debido a la cantidad de objetos de autogen, desactiva esta opcion o reducela paso a paso.

• Reduce la cantidad de objetos visibles (3D) y nubes en los ajustes graficos de FSX.

• Cambia tu FSX entre modo Windows o Pantalla completa (ALT+ENTER). Veras los cambios de rendimiento. Elige el que mejor se ajuste a tu sistema.

Modo transposicionLa idea de este aeropuerto es otorgarte el mejor escenario posible con un buen rendimiento desde un buen punto de vista. Puedes descubrir este escenario en „MODO TRANSPOSICION“ pero quizas no sea del todo satisfactorio. Ademas puede ser posible que los bordes de la pista no esten firmes ya que la opcion “superficie dura” se encuentra inactiva en modo transposicion.

Trafico AILos archivos AFX o AFCAD son utilizados para establecer el recorrido de los aviones AI. Seguramente utilizas un add-on de trafico AI que instala archivos AFX (AFCAD) para Gibraltar. Por favor elimina cual-quier otro AFX (AFCAD) para LXGB “Gibraltar“ (llamados usualmente: AF2_LXGB.bgl o similar. LXGB = codigo OACI Gibraltar) a la excepcion de los incluidos en el escenario.

Trafico dinamico en tierra (AES Lite) y trafico de vehiculos en FSX. Trafico en la pista.El trafico dinamico de coches en tierra en el aeropuerto es controlado por medio de inteligencia artificial. Los coches en la plataforma se detendran cuando un avion vaya a pasar. Esta técnica esta basada en un programa desarrollado por Oliver Pabst denominado AESLite el cual forma parte de este escenario. El trafico de coches se dentendra antes de cruzar la pista cuando las barreras esten cerradas y un avion esté aterrizando/despegando. Los aviones AI no pueden ser detectados. La frecuencia NAV2 = 108.00 te permitira cerrar las barreras manualmente.

Desactiva el trafico en rampa en FSX para aumentar la velocidad.

Ajustes de “Vista Aerea” La vista aérea de Gibraltar X tiene una resolucion de alrededor. 0.15m/pixel en FSX. Para que este se vea en FSX con la resolucion mas alta, ajusta los cursors de resolucion de pantalla a 0.15 metros. De lo con-trario las imagenes aéreas se veran en baja resolucion!

Ajustes de texturasAjusta la resolucion par alas texturas globales a “Muy Alto”. De lo contrario las texturas de los edificios se veran en baja resolucion.

FSX, Gibraltar X y DX10 PreviewSi utilizas FSX bajo VISTA o 7 y tienes una tarjeta grafica compatible con DX10, tendras la posibilidad de activar el modo “DX10 Preview”

Como su nombre lo indica, este modo te permiter ver como seria DX10 y FSX, si DX10 fuese un producto completamente terminado

Ajustes del „Autogen“ Utiliza al menos el autogen al minimo. Si lo desactivas completamente algunos objetos del escenario no apareceran

Terrain_Max_Vertex_LevelPara una mejor visualizacion del terreno el valor “Terrain_Max_Vertex_Level” debe ser 21 en el archivo FSX.cfg.(Valor por defecto 19)
