Офіційна назва Василіянського Чину –

“ВАСИЛІЯНСЬКИЙ ЧИН СВЯТОГО ЙОСАФАТА”,

(Ordo Basilianus Sancti Josaphat).

Традиційна назва – “ЧИН СВЯТОГО ВАСИЛІЯ

ВЕЛИКОГО”.

Вживається також популярна назва – “ОТЦІ

ВАСИЛІЯНИ”.

В цивільних цілях можна вживати будь-яку з цих

трьох назв.

Офіційна абревіатура Чину – ЧСВВ.

1-The official name of the Basilian Order is; The Order

of Saint Basil the Great of St. Josaphat. Traditionally, the

Order is referred to as the Order of St. Basil the Great, and

also the Basilian Fathers. The official abbreviation of the

Order is OSBM.

2-The purpose of the Order is to please God in all

things and the sanctification of the monks through the

practice of the evangelical councils and the Rules of the

Order. The specific function of the Order is consecration to

the contemplative life, the Divine Praises-the Divine

Liturgy, Matins, Vespers, the Hours, the exercising of

various kinds of pastoral activities, and the defense

and strengthening Christian unity.

3-There are no religious congregations or orders in

traditional Eastern monasticism. The monasteries were

independent from each other, and were subordinate to the

bishops. In 1596, the Union of Brest took place and the

Kyivan Church reestablished communion with the Catholic

Хрещення в Йордані.

темряві, побачив велике світло. Тим, що сиділи в країні

й тіні смерті, - зійшло їм світло.Бо Ісус не прийшов

об’явити себе тим, які його знають, а тим, які заблукані,

перед якими стоїть завіса гріха і неправди, які хворі

душею і відкинуті суспільством. Саме перед ними

засвітило світло пізнання правдивого Бога. Св. Григорій Богослов пояснює: “Просвічення - це підмога у нашій немочі, прямування за духом, приставання зі Словом, потоплення гріха, причастя світла, розвіяння темряви. Вона вже є не тільки дитиною батьків, а й дитиною Божою, членом Містичного Тіла Ісуса Христа, просвічена у Святому Дусі, оточена ласкою Пресвятої Тройці, щоб у майбутньому свідчити про Велике Світло - Христа, яке просвічує світ. Тому, помолімся, щоб всі охрещені цінували білий одяг хрещення, намагалися не плямити його і були світлом у сучасному світі. 2. Чудо в Кані Галилейській (за набожність до Пречистої Діви Марії)

Розважмо, як Господь наш Ісус Христос Вчинив перше чудо в Кані Галилейській. Марія та Ісус прийшли на весілля, щоб розділити радість своїх родичів чи друзів. На початку вони є звичайними гостями, хоча дуже бажаними. Але приходить момент, коли весільну радість можуть затьмарити буденні прорахунки. І в цей момент очі госпадарів звернені до найважливіших гостей цього торжества - Ісуса і Марії. У скрутну хвилину щоденних клопотів на допомогу приходить Ісус за посередництвом Марії. Вона виявила материнську чуйність і стурбованість звичайною нестачею вина та попросила Ісуса допомогти їм. Марія сказала до слуг: “Що лиш скаже вам - робіть.” Саме ці слова Божої Матері характеризують всю її материнську місію. Вона закликає людей покладатися на особу Господа Ісуса, слухати Його, зберігати Його слово, жити так, як Він навчає. І нині Марія виявляє свою материнську чутливість і турботу в набагато важливіших справах від такої, якою був брак вина у Кані Галилейській. Вона об’являється, бо бачить, що її діти переживають не звичайний брак вина, але брак весільного одягу, брак Божої ласки, яку нищить гріх. Брак весільного одягу загрожує виключенням із весільного бенкету у Царстві Божому. Божа Мати стурбована долею своїх дітей, які зійшли з дороги вчення її Сина, Який є “Дорогою, Правдою і Життям.” Вона приходить до людей, щоб з материнською любов’ю закликати всіх до покаяння та навернення, щоб не втратити участь у весільному бенкеті в Царстві Божому. Навернення та покаяння - це умова, щоб увійти на весільний бенкет у Царстві Божому. “Сповнився час і Царство Боже близько: покайтеся і вірте в Євангелію.” 3. Ісус Проповідує Блаженства Нагірна Проповідь (за ласку навернення) Розважмо, як Господь наш Ісус Христос проголосив Царство Боже і закликав до навернення. У мальовничій Галилеї біля озера Ісус зібрав людей, щоб навчати про Царство Боже і покаяння. Його прості та мудрі слова згуртовували все більше людей, які приходили його слухати у квітучу долину. Rutsky+1637 who called the first General chapter in

Novohorodovyci in 1617 thus, uniting all the monasteries

into the Congregation of the Holy Trinity of the Order of

St. Basil the Great. The monasteries would be under

a Protoarchimandrite directly subjected to the Metropolitan.

As of 1882, the Order of St Basil the Great is directly

subjected to the Holy See in Rome.

Today, the Order of St. Basil the Great is not limited to

Ukraine. After the Dobromyl Reform of 1882, the

Order would become more missionary and begin

serving Ukrainians in the diaspora. New provinces were

established in Brazil, the United States, Canada, and

Argentina. New provinces would be established to serve

Byzantine Catholics in Hungary, Poland, Romania,

Transcarpathia and Yugoslavia.

The Curia-General Council of the Basilian Order under

the Protoarchimandrite resides in Rome. The territorial

structure of the Order is divided into Provinces governed

by a Provincial, consisting of monasteries, residences,

missions, houses of formation-novitiate, and houses of

studies-scholasticate.

To date, the Order of St. Basil the Great Provinces

consist of:

багато організацій, у яких ми задіяні і ми вірні є їхнім правилам. Так само Ісус був вірний розповсюдженню Царства Божого. Він жив, проповідував і помер на хресті, свідчачи про Царство Боже і служачи його. Ісус говорить: “Прийшов час і наблизилось Царство Боже: покайтеся і вірте в Євангелію.” Заклик покаятися, означає повернутися обличчям до Бога і почати жити для нашого Сотворителя. Царство Боже зростає, коли люди підкоряються Божій волі, тобто з доброї волі служать йому. Ісус пригадує нам, що Царство Боже є серед нас, воно у кожному з нас, коли ми живемо у Святому Дусі, коли приймаємо Царя до наших сердець, коли виконуємо його святу волю, коли служимо Йому вірою та правдою. Перепустку до Царства Божого забезпечує особиста поведінка людини: дати голодному їсти, прийняти подорожуючого, одягнути нагого, відвідати хворого, прийняти відкинутого світом. Царство Боже потребує від кожної людини зробити свій вибір. Переображення на Таворі (за святий страх Божий) Розважмо, як Господь наш Ісус Христос преобразився на Таворі. Ісус взяв своїх найулюбленіших учнів і зійшов на гору Тавор. Можливо, ця дорога не була легкою для всіх, але, щоби побачити славу Божу, потрібно жертвувати собою, відмовитися від зручностей і вигод. Коли учні прийшли на призначене місце, то відчули небесний спокій та Ісус почав мінятися на очах у них. Його “обличчя сяяло мов світло, а одяг був білий, як сніг.” Від цієї дивовижної картини учні попадали, бо вони не могли перенести цього освячуючого та чистого світла. Ісус показав велич і могутність Божу своїм учням, щоб у важкі хвилини вони не знеохочувалися. Бо завжди, коли людина споглядає Божу славу, вона відчуває свою власну нікчемність і від того охоплює її страх. Але цей страх спасенний, бо пригадує людині про Божу досконалість і одночасно наполегливо спонукає її до святості. Господи, Ти кличеш мене до усамітнення. Ти мене запрошуєш на місце перед Кивотом, де я віддалений від людських поглядів, і де Ти хочеш мені показатися. Хочеш об’явитися мені в такому світлі, в якому я ще ніколи Тебе не бачив, і дати мені почути голос Отця Небесного, що в Тобі має своє вподобання і наказує Тебе слухати.Господи Ісусе, нехай сяйво Твого Преображення освітлює моє серце і пронизує мої вчинки, щоб я міг поширювати Твою славу.

This prayer to the Holy Spirit opens our liturgical services because we believe that it is only through the Holy Spirit that our life as Christians is effective for our healing and sanctification. It is the Holy Spirit who guides us, who encourages us, and who fills us with the life-giving grace of God the Son and the love of God the Father. It is for this reason that during the Divine Liturgy, we pray that we may be partakers in the communion of the Holy Spirit. Come and take part in a new Faith Formation video series on discovering a deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit. Fr. Dave Pivonka, TOR, will take us on a pilgrimage to discover and experience a life -giving relationship with the Holy Spirit. This is a relationship that will take us on the greatest adventure imaginable: a journey to the very heart of God. Come Holy Spirit!

The O.L.P.H. Sodality are looking for new members.

This organization is one of the most active and

oldest clubs at St. Josaphat. We provide social, religious

and monetary support for our church. Cleaning the altar,

nursing home visits, reciting the rosary, praying for our

church and its members and parties are some of the other

duties associated with our club. The Our Lady of Perpetual

Help Sodality continues to be an important organization

even though our membership is dwindling.
