Friday, 29th September 201710:00 – 18:00 HUNGARIAN RHAPSODY: EXCURSION TO THE “GREAT PLAIN”For more than 2,000 years, the Great Hungarian Plain (known as the Alföld in Hungarian) has been home to a rich cultural tradition of pastoral living and animal husbandry techniques. During this tour to the countryside you will get an insight to the famous Hungarian horse-riding traditions. Before arriving to the Great Plain we will visit the charming city of Kecskemét, which gives you a taste of the secessionist style of the nineteenth century. Here we will have a short tour, visiting the worthily famous Cifra palace and City Hall. As a short break we will enjoy a cup of coffee and some dessert at a local, cozy coffee shop. We continue our tour to the Great Plain; the fascinating village of Lajosmizse awaits us, which is situated in the middle of vast grazing grounds and sandy steppes. You will have a chance to taste traditional Hungarian dishes and matching local wines. After lunch we are going to see a spectacular horse-show, where riders, called Csikós, perform breathtaking figures like the five-in-hand ride and stand-ups on the galloping horse. After the enthralling visit of the farm, you will be transferred back to Budapest.Dress code: casual during the day, Chaine ribbon for lunch
