Mission Statement
We the people of Old Mission Santa Inés, following the path
of Jesus Christ, are making His vision a reality through
love, unity, justice, joy and hope.
FROM OUR PASTOR
And he said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?” Both Mary and Joseph heard from an an-gel that the child Jesus was the long-awaited Messiah. But they did not receive an instruction book on how to raise the Son of God, and so passed some anxious moments. Still, they continued in faith. St. Luke tells us that his mother kept all these things in her heart. By prayer and patience Mary, along with Joseph, learned how to fulfill the will of God and help Jesus grow in age and wisdom. We ask
them to help all families find God in their midst!
As we come to a new year, I thank God for all the blessings of 2018. Many things have happened here at the Mission, many
blessings as well as challenges. We’ve welcomed newborns and said farewell to old friends. In the midst of it all Jesus has continued to call us to be witnesses to God’s presence in the Santa Ynez Valley and beyond. May we all find the grace of God in our midst through 2019. God bless and keep you always!
Fr. Bobby

OUR HOLY FATHER'S INTENTIONS FOR DECEMBER
Evangelization – In the Service of the Transmission of Faith. That people, who are involved in the service and transmission of faith, may find, in their dialogue with culture, a language suited to the conditions of the present time.
Did you know? Always keep your blind spots in mind. Each week, more than 50 children are killed or injured when a driver backs up the car. In an overwhelming number of those cases, a parent, relative, or close friend is behind the wheel. It’s devastating to think that a simple action could cause such harm to your child, but it happens far too frequently. Be aware of your ‘blind spots’ when you’re behind the wheel — those areas you know are there, but can’t see clearly from your mirrors. Check out what’s happening around your vehicle before you get in. Make sure you know where your chil-dren are before you start your car. On December 21, 1968, Fr. James Johnson was ordained a priest. We con-gratulate him on the 50th anniversary of his ordination. We are grateful for his ministry here and ask God to bless him abundantly.
Christmas Baskets
We are so grateful to all those who participated in the Christmas Basket program this year; all those who adopted a family, who donated to buy food, and to those of you who wrapped and distributed the baskets. You have made a tremendous differ-ence in the lives of the 157 families that received baskets. What a wonder-ful demonstration of the Christmas Spirit. May you be blessed as you have blessed these families. Thank you for your support and encourage-ment.

NOTICIAS
