The Living Art Museum (Nýló) presents a
major body of work by Rebecca Erin Mo-
ran asking what happens after the end?
What happens after the guns and the war?
After everyone gets trampled on the oor?
After a piece of bread could buy a bag of gold?
After the pointless plot po ints? Af ter the three-act
structures crumble? After the inciting incidents?
After all that damned expectation? After all the
leading ladies? After all the bit parts? After the
knee tremblers? After the butt plugs? After the
hashtags? After Munich? After the bolex? After
the freeze frames? After the pickle jar smashes?
After that fucking eruption? After the sun sets?
After the blow up dolls get blown the fuck up?
After all those lukewarm apocalypses? After the
pillow talk? After all that polite foreplay? After allthe Anger? After she turns her head? After para -
dise gets crushed? After you realise all relaxation
ever was to you was awkward? After getting lost
in the woods? After all the tableau vivants wither?
After all the happenings get happened? After the
experimental becomes the normal? After the New
Normal gets cancelled? After all the blissed out
hippie spaces? After the two men walk up that hill?
After all the technical parameters? After you change
your mind? After all the lm stock is processed?
What gets left behind?
Forever! just ended. interrogates the destruction
of linearity and the end of expectations through an
evolving process - an ambitious scored installa-
tion, encompassing sculpture, performance and
events which unfold over the duration of one month.

A project and series of new works based on
re-reating LAD “china girl” lm frames, the image
that appears in the countdown of every reel of
motion picture lm. Original ly, the images were
spliced in by lm lab technicians for checking
that the color and density of the negative is
correct during the processing and printing
stage of creating the nal lm. They were often
from a camera test of a young starlet or even
lm lab workers themselves; sometimes they
are mannequins, men, children or an entire
still life scene both with model and multiple
items of color such as fruits and owers.
The project is both about lm as much as it is about
the process and language of lm, and the four
dimensional space it occupies both physically ina space, in the making of the set and shooting
and as single frames that eventually create an
entire lm. Laboratory Aim Density is about
the creation in time of a single frame, which in
turn becomes a durational piece of its own.

Five Live Lo Fi: Screen Test Kling og Bang Reykjavik Arts Festival (IS) 2014live lm performance. 16mm 7363 lm. duration 02:00:00
featuring Marielle Verdijk, Erna Arnardóttir, Þóranna Björnsdóttir
Screen test is a piece that explores the
anti-climatic moment of beginnings and
the deconstruction of narrative. A dancer
practices her routine, the sound engineer
runs a series of sound tests, the camera man
sets up lthe lights, shoots a test roll of lm
and processes it. Meanwhile the set builder
simultaneously builds a set while erasing its
prescence from the projected green screen
live mix. The clock keeps on ticking, the
audience is waiting, and slowly the elements
disolve like a particle fall-out. Interference
looping endlessly as visual language and
meaning fragment into the unknown.
Concieved as a collaboration between
E.S.P TV live video mix broadcast
group from NYC and the artist.

The tumbleweed is a common nomadic
plant. It also symbolizes the passage of time,
rolling endless accross empty landscapes
in classic westerns. Some plants grow
alone, others interwine and grow as one,
but they have many “beginnings”. Eventually
they break o in the wind and roll. Over
time the tumbleweed becomes round
through wear; blowing from place to place
scattering seeds and a new cycle begins.
In this exhibition she has c reated a 16mm loop
driven sculpture. The lm image is printed
from original drive-in theater Intermission
frames. It has been printed colored and
reprinted. Through this method each
generation of lm becomes a distant echo
of the original. in a constant state of pause.
