The percapita waterfootprintofcountieswithsparsepopulationwassignificantlyhigherthanthatofcities withdensepopulation.

Abstract:Thecropwaterfootprintisanimportantindexformeasuringwaterresourcesutilizationefficiency,itprovidesanewapproachtosolvingtheproblemofwaterresourcesshortage.TakingthemaincropsinZhejiangProvinceastheresearchobject,weusedCROPWAT8.0,CLIMWAT2.0andArcGISsoftwaretocalculateandanalyzethetemporalandspatialcharacteristicsofwaterfootprintsofthemaincropsinZhejiangProvincefrom2002to2018.TheresultsshowedthatthetotalwaterfootprintofcropsinZhejiangProvincechangedgreatlyfrom2002to2018,showingageneraldownwardtrend,withthelowestvaluein2016,thehighestvaluein2002andatotaldecreaseof16.18%.Intheinternalstructureofwaterfootprints,thewaterfootprintoffoodcropsrankedfirst,followedbyfruits,tea,vegetablesandoilcrops.Intheinternalstructureofthewaterfootprintoffoodcrops,thewaterfootprintoflatericeaccountedforthelargestproportion,whereasthatofcornaccountedforthesmallest.Thereweresignificantregionaldifferencesinwaterfootprints,withthelowesttotalwaterfootprintofcropsinislandareas,thehighestinplainandbasinareas,followedbythatinmountainousandhillyregions.Thepercapitawaterfootprintofcropswasaffectednotonlybythetotalwaterfootprintofcrops,butalsobythepopulation.Thepercapitawaterfootprintofcountieswithsparsepopulationwassignificantlyhigherthanthatofcitieswithdensepopulation.
