spelling. He has become excited about a stamp club which was formed at hischool and any letters that now come to the house somehow wind up with missing stamps after a very short time. Also he has joined a Cub Scout pack whwas started this year and enjoys the activities. I have been recruited to beDad for the boys in third and fourth grades. After meeting one-and-half houa week with nine boys, I have to stop and wonder how their teachers can gethem to do any school work. I'm pleased though that I can be a part of helCharlie and his friends have fun and at the same time grow both physically anmentally. And I'm also happy that we can give the program a spiritual emphas well .

Eric and Bradly are growing closer together in their activities and speecBradly has quite a vocabulary now and can get his ideas across to just aboutanyone. Both Eric and Brad have done well in learning Thai and have no trounderstanding when it is spoken. Charlie, on the other hand, not only speakThai, but is now learning to read and write it.

Anna celebrated her one year birthday January 2. We were hoping shewould have started walking by then, as she could stand by herself. But at thtime of writing she still has not been brave enough to strike out on her own.It 's as if her feet w ere nailed to the floor.

Geri has just started taking Thai lessons again. She sees the need forincreased comprehension of the language. She expects to begin studying readand writing soon. She has also been attending a once a week Bible study wia group of ladies here In Chiangmai, and is also taking a special study coursoffered by Mrs. Isabel Dittemore. Mrs. Dittemore is in Chiangmai visiting hedaughter and son-in-law, Alan and Janet Bemo. She has been a missionary fmany years to various parts of Asia and we have all enjoyed her visit to Thaii must close. We cannot adequately express our love and gratitude forAlthough we haven't the time to write individual letters, we want you to kno

that you are remembered in our hearts and prayers.God bless each of you as you serve Him who saves us.

PageASIAN LEADERSHIP SEMINAR ONCE AGAIN A SUCCESS

Walt Prevost, missionary on the team here in Chiangmai, and myselfparticipated in the second week of a three week Asian Leadership Seminar inRangoon, Burma, January 20-27. Others involved in the teaching this yearwere Paul Fuller also on the missionary team here in Thailand and Russell HaLynn Cleveland and Eugene Brandenburg of the USA. As in the past three ychurch leaders from areas of Burma where the church is strong but foreignersare not allowed to travel came for intensified study in Rangoon, the capitalof Burma. Being allowed to stay only seven days at the maximum, we taughboth mornings and afternoons to a group of forty-four men. Twenty-one camfrom Kachin State , the Northern most part of Burma. Three of them wereteachers at the Putao Christian Bible School, a training institution run by ourchurch in Burma. In their quest for more teaching material and in-depth stuof the Word of God for added personal growth, these men were anxious to cothe many miles to participate in the sessions.

RAWANG AND LISU CHURCH LEADERS FROM KACHIN STATE, BURMATwenty-three other men came to Rangoon from Chin State, Burma. Thmen, in their own search of the Scriptures have concluded that ideas preach

by their own denominational churches are wrong and have disassociated themselves with them. This action, in response to their own studies, has caused

CHIN CHRISTIAN MEN WHO CAME TO RANGOONDuring the week, Walt led a class on the Holy Spirit and 1 shared in aclass on Theology. We foreigners enjoy the time of fellowship and teaching

we go. We know the leaders in Burma benefit from the teaching, but we alsfeel a sense of real personal accomplishment to see our efforts have a major ipact on the Church in Asia. Pray for the continued work of teaching Asianleaders.

Ten students of the Chiangmoi Bible Institute participated in a project oevangelization betwen terms this past November and December. As part of thpractical training here in Chiangmai, the students were encouraged to go backto their home villages and/or make trips to other villages in Northern ThailanAfter they returned back to Chiangmai to begin the new term January 8, theygave reports of their work in a special class led by Doug. The class reportsserved many important functions.

Page 5The students learned how to give both written and oral reports, whichimportant in preparation for public speaking. Also by sharing with one anoththey were encouraged by seeing the accomplishments of their combined effortThey talked about problems and their solutions, and the discussions which follwere lively. The total learning process of students participating in the actuawork of evangelizing, and then bringing back to the classroom their experiencwere invaluable. And most important, the Gospel of Christ was shared inTWENTY-NINE different villages. An almost 100% response to the project bstudents was an awareness of their own growth in the Lord. One student said"Before I left to go to the villages, I felt weak, but now my faith has beenstrengthened and 1want to return to those places to teach again soon."Join with the faculty of C.B.I, and rejoice that the students are growi

and that the Gospel is being taught to Asians by Asians.
