What would people be surprised to find in your kitchen?

A state-of-the-art sound system so I can cook to the sound of beautiful music. The universal language of love is good food and music.

The place is burning down; you can only grab three things from the kitchen.

My chef’s knife, my best olive oil and my CDs... I would be lost without them.

Favourite guilty pleasure?

I never feel guilty about pleasure. Life is too short for that. Cook, love, eat with abandon...

What is your motto?

“I cook with no borders.”

What do you value most in a cook?

One who knows that respect for the ingredient is crucial and that cooking becomes the process to make it sing.

You need on a desert island?

Parsley, tomatoes, mint, onions, lemons, burghul, my chef’s knife, best olive oil and my CDs that I saved from the fire. Everything I need to make an epic tabbouleh salad with hummus on the side and hoping I’ll bump into someone from LCBO who will have something to wash it all down...
