Please limit your response to each of the following questions to

about 75 words but be specific.

    1. Have you ever been convicted of a crime, been disciplined by a professional licensing

board/organization or had an ethics violation filed against you? If so, please give thedetails. NO

    2. Have you ever filed for bankruptcy, been delinquent on your taxes or other majoraccounts, or been sued personally or professionally? If so, please give the details. NO

    3. Why should people vote for you? What separates you from your opponent(s)? Peoplewho know both of us tell me I have a better understanding of the role of Oregon StateSenator than my opponent apparently does. Observing my opponent as a legislator, I

have been disappointed by his lack of understanding of the challenges facingOregonians.

    4. What are the three most important issues you would address if elected? How? (75words for each issue)

    A. Successful Families-Everyone agrees, in order for families to succeed, they must be

able to prevent problems before they grow out of control To make sure they are

prepared, each generation "pays it forward" from family to family. We start with makingsure our children are safe and healthy with nutritious food and a solid roof over their

    heads.

    B. Long-term domestic job growth-Our jobs come from the same place that providesour raw materials. Responsible, sustainable resource management is the

key. Exporting logs creates jobs but exporting raw materials supports more job growthoverseas than here. We can create local jobs by bonding lottery receipts and use themto improve and maintain our bridges and highways. Because Oregon's beauty attracts

visitors from around the world, ecotourism should become a major source of jobs.

    C. Tune up the healthcare system-Our health care system is complex and

complicated. The health care system needs management that brings all parts of thesystem together and directs them to the goal; healthcare that's easy to get to and easy

to pay for. We know how to pool our resources, brainstorm solutions then design and

fund systems that deliver services economically and reliably. It's time we did this for ourhealth care system.

    5. What do you see as other important issues? There's hundreds! The bills formulated

through task force groups, committees, etc. are moving us forward on education, foster
