The Steele County Purple Ribbon Club is a local non-profit corporation made up of Steele County volunteers who raise funds to support Steele County 4-H programming efforts in-cluding: Purple Ribbon Project pre-miums at the Minnesota State Fair supporting both livestock and non-livestock 4-H projects. The funds also support livestock quality assurance and ethics training for 4-H members, Steele County Free Fair 4-H judge’s training and project trainings and updates for 4-H members.
Donations are what support the Purple Ribbon Club. Your donation
helps to strengthen the 4-H program and the youth learning that takes place in Steele County. Your donation helps to create “Purple Ribbon Kids” who in turn give back to our community through leadership and service. If you are a business, your donation insures that your business is recognized as a supporter of the Steele County Purple Ribbon Club. There are several sponsor levels ranging from $50 to $500.
If a Steele County 4-Her shows their animal in the state livestock auction, funds from the Purple Ribbon Club are used to buy back the animal. These funds go to the 4-Her. The club also awards an extra $25 for all projects en-tering state competition and receives a purple ribbon at the State Fair.
While at the fair, you can show your support of the Purple Ribbon Club by purchasing a raffle ticket at the 4-H Food Stand. First prize is $1,000, sec-ond prize is $500 and third prize is $300.
Funds earned at the annual 4-H Pork Chop Feed on Friday August 21 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the 4-H food stand will go toward the Purple Rib-bon Club.
