The conceptualisation of the extension area located in the northern wing of The Bonsai Restaurant in Northbridge wasgoverned by the parameters of the client’s visualisation for theexclusive private dining area. Our client wanted to create a modern dining space with traditional accents from the Japanese culture.

My colleagues and I began by presenting 4 diMy colleagues and I began by presenting 4 different designideas and concepts, represented through perspectives, plans and collages. Each project encompassed features that wereattractive to our client and we began to synthesise the most idealqualities into our final design.

The colour palettes selected was to complement the existing restaurant whilst secluding and enhancing the specified design area. area. The handmade paintings of the bonsai tree was intended to be a wall feature that would illuminate during the intimate dining experience under dim lighting. Finer details such as requests for new signs and logos throughout the restaurant wereproduced as well.
