al-Jâdîrî (m. 818 H.)

Qaṣîdat al-Burda, de l’Imâm Sharaf al-Dîn al-Bûṣayrî (m. 696 H.),

est l’un des poèmes les plus célèbres composés en l’honneur du

Prophète. Elle fut très bien accueillie, par l’élite et le commun, de

l’Orient à l’Occident islamique et les gens la récitèrent en langue

arabe ou non arabe. Lorsque cette qaṣida fut introduite au Maroc, à

l’époque de la dynastie Mérinide, les gens s’empressèrent de

l’apprendre, les fuqaha et les gens de lettres l’organisèrent en poème

comportant des couplets de cinq ou sept vers, en firent de nombreux

commentaires, et elle fit partie du programme d’enseignement de la

moquée al-Qarawiyîn.

Le présent commentaire, du ‘allâma al-faqîh al-muḥadith al-muqri'

al-Mîqâtî Abî Zayid ‘Abderraḥman al-Madyûnî al-Jâdîrî (m. 818 H.),

est l’un des plus importants, car, par la suite, l’ensemble des ‘ulama

qui firent des exégèses et des commentaires de la Burda s’en

inspirèrent. L’importance de ce commentaire réside dans le fait qu’il

résume, explique et éclaire le commentaire du ‘allâma al-adîb al-

mu'arikh Abî al-Walîd Ibn al-Aḥmar al-Khazrajî (m. 807 H.) intitulé :

Istinzâl al-Faraj ba‘d al-Shadda fî Sharḥ Qaṣîdat al-Burda.

L’auteur a inclus dans son commentaire un ensemble de faits et

d’anecdotes reliés à la Sîra prophétique, la description des qualités et

des états du Prophète, ainsi que des évènements et des faits advenus

avant et pendant la naissance du Prophète. L’ouvrage revêt une

grande importance en raison des recherches de l’auteur dans les

domaines linguistique, littéraire et de la rhétorique, de sa composition

et de ses propos harmonieux ; ce qui fait qu’il se distingue de

l’ensemble des autres commentaires.

al-Jâdîrî (d. 818 H.)

Qaṣîdat al-Burda, of Imâm Sharaf al-Dîn al-Bûṣayrî (d. 696 H.), is

one of the most famous poems composed in honour of the Prophet.

It was very well received, by the elite and the common, from the East

to the Islamic West and was recited in Arabic and non Arabic

language. When this qaṣida was introduced in Morocco, at the time

of the Merinide dynasty, people hastened to learn it, fuqaha and

writers organized it in a poem composed of five or seven lines verses,

wrote commentaries about it, and it became part of the teaching

program of the al-Qarawiyîn mosque.

The present commentary, of al-‘allâma al-faqîh al-muḥadith al-

muqri' al-Mîqâtî Abî Zayid ‘Abderraḥman al-Madyûnî al-Jâdîrî

(d. 818 H.), is one of the most important ones, for, afterwards, most

‘ulama who wrote an exegesis or a commentary on the Burda

inspired from it. The importance of this commentary derives from the

fact that it summarizes, explains and clarifies the commentary of al-

‘allâma al-adîb al-mu'arikh Abî al-Walîd Ibn al-Aḥmar al-Khazrajî

(d. 807 H.) entitled : Istinzâl al-Faraj ba‘d al-Shadda fî Sharḥ Qaṣîdat

al-Burda.

The author included in his commentary a set of facts and anecdotes

linked the prophetic Sîra, the description of the qualities and the states

of the Prophet, as well as events that took place before and during the

birth of the Prophet. The book is very important due to the author’s

researches in the domains of linguistics, literature and rethoric, due to

its harmonious compostion and words. Because of this this

commentary distinguishes itself from all the other commentaries.
