The couplin9 of the тоЬi/е ro/1 сап Ье fitted with а device for circumferenffal aфustment of the ro/1s that provides а perfect synchronization between the fixed roll pockets and tlюse of the тоЬi/е ro/1. /п particular cases (hi9h torque, restricted space, .. .) other drive systems (,olanetary 9еаr-Ьох, hydraulic motor) сап Ье used.

HYDRAUL/C SYSTEM The press is equipped with оп hydraulic system аЬ/е to арр/у а force оп the moЬile ro/1 Ьу means of jacks. The briquetting units shape fine materials into larger forms of varied shapes, sizes and volumes (from а few се ир to 600 се and тоге) : these characteristics are defined according to the product end use. lf the cohesive forces (particulate cohesion, valence forces, recrystallization, van Der Waals forces ... ) between the particles аге low, а Ьinder /юs to Ье used before agglomeratюn. The p/1ysical properties of the feed material, the end use of the briquettes and the cost of Ьinder addition have to Ье taken into account before а selection is made. А large variety of (liquid or solid) Ьinders is offered : starch, bentonite, Ьitumen, lime, cement, water, flour, lignosulplюnates, molasses, polymer, resin, sodium silicate, etc. .. The briquettes are obtained at а low or high pressure and сап undergo rnechanical or thermal treatment according to tl1e characteristics of the processed material, the Ьinder used and the desired end product.

Granulafion Ьу compacfion is а dry process

The РНАRМА compactors improve and simplify the dry process granulation for а fair number of applicotions. lt is particularly true when some powders have to Ье densified or when their compactaЬility ог flowaЬility needs improving. Тl1is compactor also епаЬ/еs to staЬilize mixtures of powders and ensures ап easier packaging, handling, storage and/ or transport of powders.

SAHUТ-CONREUR has developped а range of compactors specifically adapted to the requirements of the plюrmaceutical industry : on-line production without dust generation, ''production area" fully isolated from the drive system, quick change over of parts in the production area and easy cleaning of these parts, а design and а construction according to the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Crushiпg/Graпulatioп

The range of crushing/ granulation equipment developed Ьу SAHUТ-CONREUR is specially adapted to the requirements of the compaction-granulation systems. These machines are selected according to the physical properties of the product (hardness, abrasiveness, ... ), the final size range and the shape of granules required for the marketaЬle product. The yield of а compaction-granulation unit (ratio of the quantity of granules to the quantity of flakes produced Ьу the compactor) is essential : from the compacted flakes, the maximum amount of granules of the rigl?t size has to Ье procluced while keeping the amount of fines to а minimum; these fines wi/1 Ье recycled back to the compacior.

Today SAHUT-CONREUR can propose 7 types of granulators/ crushers :

the flake-Ьreaker : it coпsists of tworotors fitted with tootl1ed discs rotating at the same speed and in reverse direction: the flakes produced Ьу the compactor run through the tootl1ed discs and are reduced in size.

the oscillating or continuous rotor granu/ator : the granulator is equipped with аrotor fitted with several arms ; the product is crushed when running through the screen installed under the rotor.

the hammer-mi/1: it coпsists of аrotor fitted with тоЬi/е hammers and а screeп installed under the rotor ; the rotor speed and screen hole size are determined Ьу the product to process and the end size range required.

the knife crusher : if consists of two r otors, the working surface of which is machined to obtain either vertical knives or hoгizontal knives. The product running throug/1 the rotors is crushed Ьу tl1e knives. The size range of tl1e crushed material (between 2 and 20 тт) is conditioned Ьу the gap between rotors and the distance between knives.

the smooth ro/1 crusher : it is we/1 adapted for finer particle size range wit/1 оп average diameter between 0.3 and 2 тт. With this crusher, the size гапgе сап Ье perfectly targeted while reacl1in9 crushing yields vastly superior to the usual yields for sucf1 а fine particle size range.

the single-deck grid granulator: it is equipped with а rotor fitted with several Ьlades and а

the douЬ/e-deck grid granulalor: it includes а primary granulator and two secondary granulators. Taking the tl1rou9hput of the grid of the secondary granulator into account, the flow of product from the primary granulator is distributed among both secondary granulators mounted in parallel. The aperture of the grid of the secondary granulators сап correspond to the upper size requested for the marketaЬ/e granules : in that case, the upper cloth сап Ье removed and the circulating load iп the handling equipment reduced.

Production plant The continuous prcduction plant in Raismes is maintained for the production of Ьatci1es of briquettes or granules (ир to а few hundred tonnes) for testing of industrial processes or for potential market testing. The plant is afso availaЬ/e for to/1-production.

Engineering and design department

jТhе design of the plants and key-equipment (press, mixer, crusher, granulator, .. . ) is computer assisted and the process control and automafic control (PID) are also provided Ьу this department. The softvvare used (with bridging with other softvvare) permits the exciюnge of computer files (drawings and data sheets).

Workshop Equipped with speciRc machinery for the manufacture of presses and ancillary equipment, the workslюp meets tl1e reliaЬility and quality standards of production and provides а fu/1 autonomy to SAHUТ-CONREUR.
