As in previous years, three times a year the headquarters of the Union des producteurs agricoles (UPA) is able to collect information concerning your agricultural operation: general information on the business, contact information, legal status, region in which the primary site of the operation is located, type of production, primary shareholders or members, primary sources of income, etc. The information provided is disclosed under the Farm Producers Act and in accordance with an agreement authorized by the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

To facilitate the information concerning your business, we will use the information in the enterprise register of the Inspecteur général des institutions financières for operations that are registered and have a registration number.

Important Message

The information requested in the registration form is necessary for the issuance of the registration card from the Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation. This card gives access to professional and technical consulting services and to all the ministry’s assistance programs.

In addition, you are responsible for updating the information provided to the ministry, in accordance with section 7 of the Regulation respecting the registration of agricultural operations and the payment of property taxes and compensations.

Note that the Minister may require you to provide any information or documents deemed necessary when filing an application for registration of an agricultural operation, or necessary to demonstrate that the agricultural operation meets the conditions to remain registered with the ministry.

You may enter a usage name for each assessment unit in your file to facilitate communication with the ministry. For example, you can give an assessment unit the name of the owner, the previous or new lot number, or any other name or description you choose (e.g., Trait-Carré plot).

It is very important to verify the numbers of the assessment units using your municipal tax bill, for example so that they can be eligible for a tax credit under the ministry’s Programme de crédit de taxes foncières agricoles (Farm Property Tax Credit Program).
