Ptosis
Correction
• If eyelid is drooping due to eyelid muscle dysfunction, that is called eyelid ptosis.
• Drooping eyes hamper proper eye contact & create a lazy look, which may leave negative impression.
• Fortunately, it can be corrected through ptosis correction surgery.
• In Korea & other East Asian countries, eyelid ptosis is more common than in the West.
• Korean plastic surgeons are very experienced in restructuring eyelid muscles to correct ptosis.
Ptosis Correction is a type of blepharoplasty that creates
incision lines across the surface of the eyelids to correct the
shape & size of the eyelids. This procedure is usually
performed to correct thick eyelids with excessive adipose
tissues, or to correct sagging droopy eyelids.
Ptosis Correction is
recommended for those who
1. Have upper eyelids
covering their eyes
2. Have tired looking eyes
3. Looks like their eyes are
half open
• The most obvious sign of ptosis is the drooping upper eyelid. Depending on how severely the eyelid droops, people with ptosis are often concerned about the cosmetic appearance. Vision may also be affected depending on how low the eyelid is relative to the pupil. Sometimes people with ptosis tilt their heads back to try to see or raise their eyebrows constantly try to lift the eyelids. • Ptosis which is present since birth is typically the result
of a developmental defect in the levator muscle. Adult, or acquired ptosis, is usually associated with the thinning or detachment of the levator muscle tendon. • A droopy eyelid can also be the result of trauma after
significant eyelid swelling. It may also be caused can also by neurologic conditions
In addition to Full Incision & Non-Incision,
you can also choose Ptosis Correction with
a Dual-Incision Ptosis Correction.
You will be swollen after ptosis correction
surgery. You will be advised to use icepack
provided by your plastic surgery clinic in
Korea, & stay till your eyes fully cooled off.
The good news is that although it takes a
longer time to look natural, eventually,
your eyes will look natural & beautifully
different within a year.
Upper blepharoplasty +
muscle structure correction =
Ptosis correction surgery.
This simple formula can help
understand & give an idea
about what is actually
involved in ptosis correction
surgery. To help use the
muscles of the eyes, your
Korean plastic surgeon will
perform the full incision
procedure &
ptosis correction to lift the
lids.
