Builder, a Windows based application, is a menu-driven reservoir simulation model creation, editing and visualization program for generating input data for all CMG products - STARS TM , GEM TM , IMEX TM , CMOST TM and WinProp TM . Builder simplifies model creation by providing a framework for data integration and workflow management between CMG’s reservoir simulators and the “outside world”. Builder is used extensively for: Streamlining data integration and workflow management in conjunction with Results TM Data manipulation, creating tables from correlations, and data checking Inputting data from 3rd-party reservoir simulators and translating into direct or indirect translation Accurately importing data from 3rd-party geological modelling programs (Petrel , GOCAD , RMS & EarthVision ) Builder’s intuitive interface and numerous process wizards make reservoir simulation accessible to all organizations, even those with limited modelling experience. HYDRAULIC FRACTURING In 2014, Builder added new hydraulic fracturing keywords that enable multiple fracture stages to be created on one or more wells. In addition, the new keywords and enhanced interface allow users to quickly and easily add, modify or remove fractures. Engineers will achieve more accurate hydraulic fracture well models in tight single porosity and naturally fractured (e.g. shale gas) reservoirs. The Hydraulic Fracturing wizard automatically adjusts values of fracture permeability and the non-Darcy flow coefficient to match transient, non-Darcy flow, as if the model had actual propped fracture dimensions. POLYGONS The 2D polygon manager provides an easy way to select a range of grid blocks to create virtually any boundary and any block within the boundary or crossing the boundary, will be included. Engineers will be able to adjust properties quicker and easier by using the polygon manager to create sectors and apply property modifications to the defined polygons. ADVANCED PROCESS WIZARDSBuilder includes workflow wizards to assist users in creating advanced processes simulations. The wizards are designed for creating well locations for single-pattern or multiple repeated pattern flooding models, locally refined grids (LGR) surrounding wells to model transient, and non-Darcy flow through propped fractures.

In addition, Builder has process wizards for easy step-by-step inputs for advanced processes such as in-situ combustion, Alkaline-Surfactant-Polymer (ASP) flooding, foamy heavy oil production and fines migration.

Builder has simplified inputs for chemical EOR processes including reduction in residual oil with surfactants and alkali, adsorption of injected chemicals, and complex non-newtonian polymers.

iSegWellCMG has recently released iSegWell, an intelligent segmented wells module that accurately and realistically models the wellbore and completions. iSegWell models the flow and pressure change throughout the wellbore branches, tubing strings and equipment. In addition, engineers will be

able optimize well completions and downhole equipment using CMOST. Using Builder, import iSegWell well path information, based on imported trajectories to automatically calculate the entry and exit points for segmented well datasets. Builder will also convert trajectory and perforation information for one or more wells into iSegWell keywords.

WELLS & RECURRENT DATABuilder makes it quick and easy to create a realistic representation of your existing wells as well as planning for infill drilling. Import trajectory information from deviation surveys and add completion and recompletion information to ensure that the well is modelled exactly as it is in the field.
