With blue as its signature colour, the UNICEF Collection spans a wide range of sophisticated pieces.Education and the written language are gifts that can truly open up a child’s world.

The Gift of Writing Collection takes its inspiration from

the Rosetta Stone, an artefact created in 196 B.C. that was lost

and then rediscovered in Egypt in 1799. Bearing the same

text in Greek, Demotic and Hieroglyphs, it provided the key to

unlocking ancient Egyptian writing.

The design also incorporates characters from the six most

used modern alphabets. These are Roman/Cyrillic: “a”;

the Mandarin character for “you“; the first letter of the Arabic

alphabet; the Japanese vowel “a” from the hiragana writing

system; the first consonant and vowel in Korean and the first

character children learn in Hindi. They have been chosen

because they are the first building blocks we use when we learn

to read and write. All this is brought together in a seamless

design emblematic of the universal nature and importance

of writing.

Each writing instrument was built by a highly skilled

craftsman. Each part of the collection brings its own indi-

vidual approach, but most of all, each one is a celebration

of writing and a sign of our commitment to the “Writing is

a precious gift” concept – and we should all pass it on.

Writing helps us to understand others, and shows us new and

different thoughts and ideas. Writing opens up the world.

But currently, one in four children has no access to

education. To counter this we are continuing our work with

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).We are

committed to building a world in which every child has a fair

chance in life and we are working with them to help give

children “the right to write”.

To achieve this, for every Meisterstück from the Gift

of Writing Collection sold, a donation is made to UNICEF,

which they invest in providing more children with a better

quality of education. As a result, each time you use your

UNICEF Collection Writing Instrument, you will know you

have contributed in passing on this precious gift.

is also the product of many great minds and skilled hands.

Each one starts as an idea – a vision of how to advance

the art and craft of fine writing. From these designers’ and

engineers’ sketches, that idea is then brought to life. Whether

it’s timelessly stylish or a truly futuristic design, the Maison’s

master craftsmen have the experience, expertise and dedica-

tion to bring these visions to life in a writing instrument that

is a testament to the importance of the written word.

The cap and barrel of each writing instrument is made to

measure from materials such as precious resin, sterling silver

and ebonite. Expertly worked finishes for the body’s surface

and gold, platinum, ruthenium or rhodium coatings for the

fittings give each writing instrument a distinctive character.

The heart and soul of every Montblanc Fountain Pen is

its nib. Made from either precious Au 750 or Au 585, each

is painstakingly handcrafted in a complex of 35-step process.

Under pressure of up to 18 tonnes, the nib’s silhouette is

stamped out and then carefully pressed into shape. After add-

ing the exceptionally hard iridium tip, Montblanc craftsmen

accurately grind the nib by hand to its final width and size.

Classic Montblanc nibs are adorned with the emblematic

4810 engraving. This is an allusion to the height of Mont Blanc

in metres and a symbol of the Maison’s highest standards.

Some editions and collections may feature special embellish-

ments, but after final assembly and setting, every nib must

pass a thorough, rigorous writing test to ensure that it delivers

the ultimate writing experience for you. Only after all this has

been accomplished, is a Montblanc FountainWriting Instrument

deemed ready to become your trusted lifetime companion.

The Meisterstück 3D Skeleton 149 brings together all the design elements

behind our collaboration with UNICEF.

Its cap and barrel are made from a special blue resin that matches

UNICEF’s characteristic colour. The platinum-coated tube is accurately

turned and milled to create 3D calligraphy. Together they capture

the beauty and individuality of different calligraphies while symbolising

the importance and universality of writing. The cap top is made of

mother-of-pearl and onyx and carries a precious 2.5 mm blue sapphire

as a symbol of the UNICEF partnership.

The handcrafted Au 750 white gold nib carries bi-colour letters

from the six most used alphabets in the world. Platinum-coated fittings

complete the exquisite appearance of this Skeleton piece.

The Solitaire Blue Lacquer takes its design inspiration from the Rosetta

Stone. This exceptional artefact was created in 196 B.C. but was lost

have created this iconic Meisterstück, a new interpretation of our most

iconic writing instrument.

The cap carries a precious 1.6 mm blue sapphire and a special

engraving of six letters from the most used alphabets in the modern

world. The two are combined to celebrate the ongoing collaboration

between the Maison and UNICEF.

We have worked together for many years to bring to life our

shared belief in the power of the written word. The handcrafted Au 585

solid gold nib, crowned by the unique “4810” engraving, represents

the height of Mont Blanc in metres and serves as a metaphor of our

craftsmen who constantly reach for new heights. A highly polished

The Heritage Rouge et Noir Solitaire Serpent is inspired by the original

metal and silver pens, which were treated with special techniques in

the 1920s.

The barrel and cap are made from platinum-coated, brushed brass.

The cap top has a Montblanc emblem of coral and ivory-coloured precious

resin. A champagne-tone gold-coated serpent clip with cognac-coloured

garnets set in the eyes winds gracefully around the cap. This motif is con-

tinued with an engraved serpent winding around the barrel, cone and

forepart. The handcrafted Au 750 solid gold nib with partly rhodium-coated

serpent design adds a final flourish to this exceptional writing instrument.Reminiscent of art nouveau design codes, a striking serpent clip, set with eyesof garnet, luxuriously encircles the cap.

The first Montblanc Fountain Pens eliminated the risk of ink stains and

so were given the sobriquet “Rouge et Noir” referring to the safest way

of playing roulette: betting on both red and black, at the same time.

In this reinterpretation, the resin cap and lacquer barrel are made in

vintage brown. Vintage brown is the name given to the patina of colour

obtained by ebonite naturally aging in the tropical sun. Here the deep choco-

late shade is used as an interpretation of that tropical aging. The cap

top is crowned by the Montblanc ivory snow-cap set in coral. A cham-

pagne tone gold-coated serpent clip with matching cognac-coloured

garnet eyes winds gracefully around the cap.

This classic tribute to Montblanc’s pioneering history is available as

a Rollerball, a Ballpoint and as a piston Fountain Pen, which features a

handcrafted Au 585 solid Gold nib with serpent embossing.

The serpent from the clip appears again in the delicate engraving of a snake’s headon the solid gold nib.

The Spirit of Racing collection brings a sporty edge to the StarWalker

Collection. The collection is inspired by performance. It captures the

masculine energy and style of the glory days of racing.

The pattern on the precious resin barrel draws inspiration from

the tread of racing tyres. The barrel, which is moulded then blasted,

gives a rubber-like look and feel contrasting with the shiny platinum-

coated cap and fittings. The forepart of the writing instrument features

a knurling pattern inspired by those used in racing car gearshifts, pedals

and steering wheels.

This design feature can also be found on the crown of the

TimeWalker Timepieces Collection.

The finish of the barrel, made of of precious resin, which is imprinted then blasted,paired with the polishedmetal cap and fittingsmake a unique andmasculine statement.

The distinctive pattern on the StarWalker Ceramic Collection is inspired

by “Italian futurism”, a design movement from the early 20th century

emphasising the visual effect of motion, aerodynamics and speed. Its

founders were fascinated by velocity and motion, bustling cities, racing

cars and the newly discovered aviation.

A dynamic pattern, depicting movement, stretches across the white

ceramic barrel and the platinum-coated metal cap. The ceramic used

in the collection is a high-performance material that is also used in

racing cars, and can withstand temperatures of up to 2,400 °C and has

a high resistance to abrasion and scratches.

Discover precision, resistance and ultra-performance in an aerody-

namic and sleek design.

The dynamic pattern radiating across the high-performance ceramic material givesthe optical illusion of movement.

From the beginning, the founders of Montblanc have always placed a

high value on sophisticated design executed with immaculate crafts-

manship. It is in this spirit that we are continuing to work alongside

one of the most influential designers of his generation: Marc Newson.

His M Collection has a sculptural quality with flowing lines and

no sharp edges.The latest addition to the M Collection is the Montblanc

M Ultra Black. Crafted from precious black resin – the body has a sleek

non-reflective surface. Black colouring is used across many Montblanc

writing instruments, but it is the unique matt tone that adds a new shade

to the M edition. A discrete ring of orange on the forepart pays homage

to Marc Newson’s distinctive signature colour. This contrasts with the

ruthenium-coated elements of cap, clip, trim and the forepart of the

handcrafted Au 585 gold nib.

It is a combination of minimalism and modernity that makes the

M Ultra Black so individual.

Amatt black tone with a discrete pop of orange augments the clean lines anddistinctive “plateau” of the collection.

In the 1920s, the French fashion revolution freed women from restric-

tive styles, opening their wardrobes to more functional yet elegant

designs. This is the inspiration behind the Bonheur Collection and builds

on the Maison’s long history of creating beautiful writing instruments

for women.

Following the philosophy and style of the era, the writing instru-

ment’s shape is pure and simple, but with feminine lines. The clip revives

the “teardrop” design of the ’20s. Black and white precious resin com-

bined with platinum-coated fittings adds flair to functionality – a perfect

match for a hectic yet chic lifestyle. The Au 585 gold nib is engraved

with an “étoile filante” design. Because, for the French, the falling star

is emblematic of “le Bonheur” – happiness.

To go with the Montblanc Bonheur, we suggest the white Sartorial

leather pouch to add a touch of edgy glamour and femininity.

A falling star design graces the gold nib in reference to the true talisman of “bonheur”.
