La municipalité de Byblos a présenté en juin dernier, le projet MED-3R à l’occasion du “Green mind award“, un évènement annuel ayant pour but d’encourager les démarches environnementales dans les pays du Moyen Orient et de l’Afrique du Nord. La municipalité a également mené des actions de communication auprès de ses citoyens, afin de les sensibiliser au tri sélectif des déchets. Ainsi, des bacs de tri ont été installés lors des deux grandes manifestations de la ville : le festival international de Byblos et l’exposition Ahiram, qui se sont tenus entre juillet et août 2014.

Dans le cadre du projet MED-3R, le bureau d’études EBHYS a présenté, le 7 juillet 2014, le projet de plan de gestion des déchets de la Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur. Cette étude concerne l’ensemble des déchets ménagers et assimilés de la Métropole et notamment les déchets de la restauration, les déchets d’équipements électriques et électroniques, les déchets d’activité de soins à risques infectieux ainsi que les piles et accumulateurs. Ce travail est en cours de finalisation et sera présenté au comité de suivi regroupant des élus métropolitains en octobre 2014.

The municipality of Byblos presented the MED-3R project at the “Green mind award”, an annual event that was held last June, aiming to promote environmental initiatives in the countries of the Middle East and North Africa. The municipality has also undertaken communication actions among its citizens, to raise awareness on waste segregation. Thus, sorting bins have been installed during the two major events of the city: Byblos international festival and Ahiram exhibition that were held between July and August 2014.

Le partenaire jordanien de l’Autorité de la Zone Economique Spéciale d’Aqaba a lancé en avril et mai 2014, un appel d’offre pour l’obtention de prestations de conseil pour la gestion des déchets dans le cadre de MED-3R. La société ALEFCON LLC qui a été sélectionnée, a démarré ses activités en juillet 2014.

The Jordanian partner of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority launched a tender in April and May 2014, for the acquisition of advisory services in waste management within the MED-3R. The tender was assigned to the company ALEFCON LLC that started its activities in July 2014.

A draft of the waste management plan for the Metropolis of Nice Cote d’Azur was presented by the consulting firm EBHYS on the 7th of July, 2014, under the MED-3R project. The study concerns all the mixed household and similar waste of the Metropolis including catering waste, waste electrical and electronic equipment, home generated medical waste and batteries and accumulators. This work is being finalized and will be presented to the monitoring committee of the metropolitan elected officials in October 2014.

Following to the awareness actions for pharmacies conducted by the Metropolis of Nice Cote d’Azur regarding home generated medical waste, 112 collection points have been assigned over the metropolitan area. These points may be geo-located at the following address: http://nous-collectons.dastri.fr. In collaboration with the national approved eco-organization called “DASTRI” in charge of collecting and treating home generated medical sharps waste, the metropolitan partner is involved in a communication campaign that will aim to raise user awareness about the risks of these hazardous waste.

Suite aux actions de sensibilisation des pharmacies concernant les déchets d’activité de soins à risques infectieux (DASRI) menées par la Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur, 112 points de collecte ont été répartis sur le territoire Métropolitain. Ces points de collecte sont géo-localisables à l’adresse suivante : http://nous-collectons.dastri.fr. En collaboration avec DASTRI, l’éco-organisme agréé responsable de la collecte et du traitement des DASRI piquants, coupants ou tranchants, le partenaire métropolitain est impliqué dans une campagne de communication qui aura pour but la sensibilisation des usagers sur les risques de ces déchets dangereux.

Déchets de la restauration à Gênes Catering waste in Genoa

� �$وة� $����ت ا�ط��م A Gênes, les déchets de la restauration sont traités par le compostage après une collecte spécifique. Une enquête de terrain répartie sur les trois différentes zones de la ville a été menée par la municipalité, en collaboration avec sa Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie, l’Université de Gênes, et l’entreprise publique de nettoyage urbain AMIU (Azienda Multiservizi e d'Igiene Urbana). Un total de 600 pré-diagnostics a été réalisé auprès des restaurants des quartiers de Pegli, de Corso Italia et du centre ville dit Porto antico. 10% des restaurateurs interrogés ont adhéré à cette démarche écologique. Ils ont ainsi bénéficié d’un Ecolabel d’encouragement fourni par la Municipalité et ont été équipés de conteneurs spécifiques pour la collecte de leurs déchets organiques. Une première série d’autodiagnostics est menée entre juillet et septembre 2014 et les résultats seront publiés

The catering waste in Genoa is processed by composting after a specific collection. A field survey on three different areas in the city was set by the Municipality, in collaboration with its Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the University of Genoa and the public enterprise for urban cleaning AMIU (Azienda Multiservizi e d'Igiene Urbana). A total of 600 pre-diagnosis were conducted among the restaurants of the areas of Pegli, Corso Italia and the down town called Porto Antico. 10% of the surveyed restaurants joined this ecological approach and received an Ecolabel of encouragement provided by the Municipality. They were also equipped with special containers for the collection of organic waste. A first round of self-diagnosis in being conducted between July and September 2014 for a result publication expected in November 2014.

Un appel à candidatures est lancé pour la sélection de cinq nouvelles villes qui seront intégrées à la plateforme MED-3R. Le comité comprenant l’ensemble du partenariat actuel se réunira le 21 octobre 2014 à Byblos-Jbeil au Liban lors du "séminaire d’appel à candidatures" et sélectionnera les nouveaux partenaires. La date limite de soumission des demandes est fixée au dimanche 21 septembre 2014, à 23h (GMT +1).

A call for applications is launched for the selection of five new cities to be integrated to the MED-3R platform. The committee comprising the entire current partnership will convene in Byblos-Jbeil, Lebanon, on the 21st of October, 2014 during the "call for applications seminar" and will select the new partners. The deadline for submitting the applications is Sunday 21 September, 2014, at 11:00 p.m. (GMT +1).

Achat d’équipement à la Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur Purchase of large equipment at the Metropolis of Ni ce Cote d’Azur

Dans le cadre du développement de ses actions pilotes à Nice, la Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur a installé trois caissons de tri et de stockage des déchets d’équipements électriques et électroniques, dans les déchetteries de Nice Ouest, d’Isola et de Valdeblore. Un véhicule électrique destiné à la collecte des piles et accumulateurs engendrés par 274 organismes non pris en charge par l’éco-organisme agréé "Corepile" a également été acheté pour couvrir le territoire métropolitain.

As part of developing the pilot projects in Nice, the Metropolis of Nice Cote d’Azur installed three containers for sorting and stocking waste electrical and electronic equipment, at the civic amenities of Isola, Valdeblore and West of Nice. An electrical vehicle for the collection of batteries and accumulators generated by 274 institutions over the metropolitan area and unsupported by the approved eco-bodie Corepile, was also purchased.

Le Programme IEVP CT Bassin Méditerranéen 2007-2013 est une initiative de coopération transfrontalière multilatérale financée par l’Instrument Européen de Voisinage et de Partenariat (IEVP). L'objectif du Programme est de promouvoir un processus de coopération durable et harmonieuse au niveau du bassin méditerranéen en traitant les défis communs et en valorisant ses potentialités endogènes. Il finance des projets de coopération en tant que contribution au développement économique, social, environnemental et culturel de la région méditerranéenne. Les 14 pays suivants participent au Programme: Chypre, Egypte, France, Grèce, Israël, Italie, Jordanie, Liban, Malte, Autorité palestinienne, le Portugal, l'Espagne, la Syrie, la Tunisie. L'Autorité de Gestion Commune (AGC) est la Région Autonome de Sardaigne (Italie). Les langues officielles du Programme sont l'arabe, l’anglais et le français.

The 2007-2013 ENPI CBC Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme is a multilateral Cross-Border Cooperation initiative funded by the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI). The Programme objective is to promote the sustainable and harmonious cooperation process at the Mediterranean Basin level by dealing with the common challenges and enhancing its endogenous potential. It finances cooperation projects as a contribution to the economic, social, environmental and cultural development of the Mediterranean region. The following 14 countries participate in the Programme: Cyprus, Egypt, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Malta, Palestinian Authority, Portugal, Spain, Syria, Tunisia.
