Cet hiver, Courchevel célèbre DavidCintract, l'initiateur du "Pop libre", cecourant nourri de l'héritage d'AndyWarhol et de Roy Lichtenstein.

À la fois peintre, photographe, sculpteuret plasticien, David Cintract, 42 ans, esttout particulièrement attiré par lesobjets manufacturés. Il les détourne deleur fonction première, les transcendepar la poésie, par le rêve, tout en posantun regard interrogateur, critique voireprovocateur, sur notre société. Avec uneaisance déconcertante, David Cintractpasse allègrement des techniquestraditionnelles aux multiples moyensd'expression actuels ; digigraphie,introduction, dans certaines œuvres, dejouets ou autres objets inattendus.

Du 15 décembre 2012 au 26 avril 2013,l'exposition “Cintract à Courchevel”présente ses fameux mannequins qui sont répartis dans toute la station.L'une d'entre elles, "MademoiselleCourchevel" est le fruit, savoureux, de larencontre entre l'artiste et Courchevel ;ce qui lui accorde le privilège d'êtrereproduite sur différents supports decommunication de la station.

Les sculptures sont exposées àCourchevel Tourisme dans la Croisetteainsi qu’à l’Espace Diamant, juste devantles Galeries Bartoux, où l’on peutdécouvrir différentes autres facettes del’œuvre de l’artiste, comme ses tableauxou ses box.

The Courchevel ski resort is today also becoming a reference in thefield of modern and contemporary art. Dali, Botéro, Folon, PaulBeckrich, Etienne… Each winter season is characterized byexhibitions where one can discover or rediscover the works of majoremerging or established artists.

This winter, Courchevel is honoring David Cintract, the initiator ofthe “Free Pop”. This movement is based on the legacy of AndyWarhol and Roy Lichstenstein.

As a painter as well as a photographer, a sculptor and a visual artistDavid Cintract, 42 years old, is especially drawn to manufacturedobjects. He diverts them from their primary function and transcendsthem through poetry, by the dream; while having a quizzical, criticaland even provocative look at our society. It is with a disconcertingease that David Cintract can switch from traditional techniques tovarious more modern means of expression: digigraphy, theinclusion of toys or other unexpected objects in some works.

From December 15, 2012 to April 26, 2013 the “Cintract inCourchevel” exhibition will display his famous mannequins. Hissculptures will be disseminated throughout the ski resort. One inparticular, ‘Mademoiselle Courchevel’, is the luscious fruit of theencounter between the artist and Courchevel. This gives it theprerogative of being reproduced on numerous communicationmediums.

His sculptures are displayed at ‘Courchevel Tourism’ as well as the‘Espace Diamant’, just across from the Galeries Bartoux where youwill be able to discover other facets of the artist’s work such as hispaintings or his ‘box’.
