Le programme comprend deux semestres de cours et un semestre destiné à la réalisation d'un mémoire. Les cours ont lieu à Neuchâtel (un jour par semaine) et à Lausanne. Le trajet en train entre ces deux sites dure 40 minutes.Pendant le premier et deuxième semestre, 5 cours (30 crédits) sont à choisir dans chacun des deux domaines ci-dessous:

• Management des systèmes d'information• Ingénierie des systèmes d'information

Le dernier semestre est consacré à la rédaction du mé-moire de recherche ou stage et mémoire de stage (30 crédits ECTS).

The programme includes two semesters of courses and one semester for writing a master thesis. Cour-ses are held in Neuchâtel (one day per week) and Lau-sanne. The train journey between these two sites lasts 40 minutes.During the first and second semester, 5 courses (30 cre-dits) are to be chosen in each of the two fields below:

• Management of the information systems• Information systems engineering

The last semester is devoted to the realisation of the research project or internship and report (30 credits ECTS).

OBJECTIFS DE LA FORMATION / PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES

Dans un environnement en perpétuelle évolution, dans lequel l'information joue un rôle prépondérant en termes de compétitivité et de performance, des connaissances approfondies sur les systèmes d'information s'avèrent indispensables au management efficace d'une organi-sation. La pertinence et la qualité des réponses mana-gériales aux problèmes posés par la gestion des orga-nisations dépendent essentiellement des informations disponibles pour le manager. La maîtrise universitaire en systèmes d'information permet d'acquérir des com-pétences de pointe indispensables aux acteurs écono-miques. Elle vise à :

• Former des spécialistes de haut niveau dans les do-maines des technologies de l'information, de l'orga-nisation et de la communication des stratégies d'en-treprises et du management.

• Préparer aux formations doctorales, notamment en systèmes d'information et informatique de gestion.

In a continuous evolving environment, in which informa-tion plays a major role in terms of competitiveness and performance, in-depth knowledge of information sys-tems are essential for the effective management of an organisation. The relevance and quality of managerial responses to the problems raised by the management of organizations depend fundamentally on information available to the manager. The Master of Science in In-formation Systems brings the necessary expertise to economical actors. It aims to:

• Train high level experts in the fields of information technology, organisation and communication of bu-siness strategies, and management.

• Prepare for PhD studies, especially in Information Systems and Management Information Systems

UNE FORMATION INTERUNIVERSITAIRE / AN INTER-UNIVERSITY PROGRAMME

La formation prépare des experts avertis, aptes à concevoir, gérer, évaluer et mettre en place des servi-ces et applications informatiques. Ils seront capables de dialoguer tant avec des spécialistes en informatique qu'avec des interlocuteurs issus du monde des scien-ces humaines. A la fin du programme, les diplômés pourront occuper des postes variés, comme chef de projets informatiques, architecte des systèmes d'infor-mation, auditeur des systèmes d'information, respon-sable logistique, responsable sécurité, consultant busi-ness intelligence...

This training prepares experts able to design, maintain, evaluate and implement information services and ap-plications. They will be able to discuss with computer science specialists, but also with interlocutors having a background in human sciences. At the end of this rigo-rous programme, graduates will be able to hold varied positions, as chief information project, information sys-tems architect, information systems analyst, logistic ma-nager, information security officer, business analyst…

Les enseignements dispensés sont assurés par les pro-fesseurs et chargés d'enseignement de l'Institut du ma-nagement de l'information (IMI).

Les collaborateurs de l'institut, dirigé par le professeur Kilian Stoffel, s'intéressent à tous les aspects liés au management de l'information, mettant l'accent sur la représentation de l'information et l'extraction de connaissances.

Les différents projets sont en grande partie financés par le Fonds national suisse pour la recherche scientifique (FNRS), ainsi que par des fonds tiers issus de collabo-rations avec le monde économique. Plusieurs de ces projets ont débouché sur des publications scientifi-ques, des thèses de doctorat et des brevets.

Courses are taught by the professors and lecturers of the Information Management Institute (IMI).

The members of staff of the institute, supervised by Professor Kilian Stoffel, work on all aspects of infor-mation management, with emphasis on information re-presentation – using ontology model - and knowledge extraction (data mining).

The different projects are largely funded by the Swiss National Fund (SNF), as well as by private funds, throu-gh collaborations with businesses. Several projects have led to scientific publications, doctoral thesis and patents.

ADMISSION

La formation est ouverte à tout détenteur d'un bachelor en systèmes d'information, en économie politique, en sciences économiques, en gestion ou en finance, et ayant obtenu dans son cursus d'études au moins 12 crédits ECTS dans le domaine de l'informatique, ou d'un bachelor en informatique ou en systèmes de communication,

et ayant obtenu dans son cursus d'études au moins 12 crédits ECTS dans le domaine des sciences humaines et sociales. Les personnes titulaires d’un bachelor HES, dans le domaine de l'informatique, du logiciel, de l'écono-

mie d'entreprise ou de la gestion, sont admises sous réserve de la réussite d’une formation complémentaire.

The programme is open to any holder of a bachelor in information systems, political economy, economic scien-ces, management or finance – having obtained at least 12 credits for courses in computer science – or in com-

puter science or communication systems – and having obtained at least 12 credits for courses in human or social sciences. The students having completed a HES bachelor's degree in computer science, software, enterprise

economy or management, are accepted subject to the successful completion of an upgrade programme.
