n el Credo de Nicea, oramos: "Ascendió al cielo y está sentado a la derecha del Padre". Jesús vivió cuarenta

días en su cuerpo glorificado después de la resurrección, pero al final se elevó al cielo, donde nos espera a cada uno

de nosotros. Fue planeado todo el tiempo que él los que descendían del cielo volverían allí. "Nadie subió al cielo,

sino el que descendió del cielo, el Hijo del Hombre" (Juan 3:13). La asombrosa verdad es que Él ha abierto el cielo

para nosotros, animándonos a cada uno a unirnos. Él para siempre "Y si voy y preparo un lugar para ti, lo haré.

Vuelve de nuevo y te llevaré conmigo mismo, para que donde tú estés también estés ”(Juan 14: 3). Así que no

solo nos esforzamos por llegar al cielo, sino que Jesús está allí intercediendo con su poder para "el derramamiento

permanente del Espíritu Santo" sobre cada uno de nosotros (Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica, 667). ¡Imagina a

Jesús como tu intercesor en el cielo, alegando tu caso como hermano ante nuestro Padre amoroso! Si Dios está

por nosotros, ¿quién contra nosotros? También está allí inaugurando su reino mesiánico. Le dijo a Pilato que su

reino no era de este mundo. Ahora ha tomado el trono de su reino y atraerá a todos los pueblos a sí mismo. Tú y

yo seremos testigos de "su reino [que] no tendrá fin", para citar el mismo Credo. Entonces, vivamos con la nueva

confianza de que Jesús reina en el cielo, intercede por nosotros, preparando nuestro hogar eterno.

In our First Reading Luke reflects back to his first book about the life of Jesus and then describes the �me when Jesus was taken up into heaven.

Our Second Reading describes the Church as the Body of Christ, both on earth and in heaven. Our Second Reading compares the one sacrifice of Christ with the animal sacrifices offered over and over by the high priests of Jewish ritual.
