• Appel à candidature - Expedition 377 : "Arctic Ocean Paleoceanography (ArcOP)" opérée par ESO (Ecord Sci-ence Operator) dans les environs du Pôle Nord.

Dates de l'Exp. 377 : - volet off-shore (60 jours d'opérations dans la région du Pôle Nord) à l'automne 2018 - volet on-shore (description des carottes à Bremen, Allemagne) début 2019

L'Exp. 377 se donne comme principal objectif d'obtenir un enregistrement climatique continu du Cénozoique dans l'Océan Arctique central. Compétences recherchées (très diverses) : paléontologie, sédimen-tologie, stratigraphie, palynologie, chimie minérale, chimie organique, microbiologie, géophysique, géologie structurale, paléomagnétisme, propriétés physiques des roches, diagraphie.

• Appel à candidature - Expedition 380 : "NanTroSEIZE Frontal Thrust Borehole Monitoring System" opérée par JAMSTEC (Japan Agency for Marine-earth Science and TEChnology) dans la fosse de Nankai.

L'Exp. 377 se donne comme principal objectif d'installer un nouveau LTBMS au Site C0006.

• Appel à candidature - ESSAC Chair : La présidence de l'ESSAC (Conseil Scientifique d'ECORD) va être renouvelée en 2018. Tout membre d'un pays d'ECORD, France incluse, peut candidater. Nous précisons toutefois que, la France assurant déjà la direction de l'EMA (ECORD Managing Agency) et la présidence de l'EFB (ECORD Facility Board), les candidat(e)s rattaché(e)s à un laboratoire français ne seront pas considéré(e)s comme prioritaires pour la présidence de l'ESSAC. } ECORD invites you to submit mission-specific platform (MSP) proposal !7 expéditions ont déjà été conduites par ECORD avec succès. Après un premier plan opérationel MSP défini par l'ECORD Facility Board (EFB) pour la période 2014-2018 incluant pas moins de 5 expéditions (347 Baltic Sea Pal-eoenvironment (2013-2014), 357 Atlantis Massif: Serpentinization and Life (2015), 364 Chicxulub Impact Crater (2016), 381 Corinth Active Rift Development (2017) and 377 Arctic Paleoceanography (ACEX-2; 2018), l'EFB va définir un second plan opérationel MSP pour la période 2019-2023 basé sur l'excellence scientifique des projets de forage et surtout sur le budget annuel disponible pour les expéditions. d'ici 2023, l'EFB espère pouvoir considérer 1 mission moyennement ou très coûteuse et 3 expéditions peu couteus-es. Des réserves provisoires pour 2020 et 2022 ont été effectuées pour les systèmes de forage MeBo70 / 200 et RockDrill-II pour répondre à toute demande de proposition. Les opérations avec ces systèmes, ainsi que les carot-tages à piston peuvent faire partie d'un projet d'expédition peu coûteux où le navire pourrait être une uncritubion In-Kind. NOUS ENCOURAGEONS VIVEMENT LA (RE)SOUMISSION DES PROJETS MSP auprès du Science Support Of-fice (dates limites de soumission : 1er avril et 1er octobre de chaque année) pour une évaluation plus approfondie par le SEP (Science Evaluation Panel) et une éventuelle prise en compte lors de la prochaine réunion du EFB.

} Journée d'information "Porteur de projet IODP" : Le bureau IODP-France envisage d'organiser dans un avenir plus ou moins proche, une journée d'information sur le thème: "Comment monter un projet d'expédition IODP ?". Des PI de projets ayant abouti à une expédition expliquer-ont la procédure à suivre, donneront des conseils sur le contenu et le format d'une demande "idéale", sur les pièges rédactionnels à éviter, etc...
