Nearly 40 Franco-British cultural projects will take the stage on the 24th and 25th September 2013 for the roadshow “Europe, Culture and Communities” organised by the Interreg IV A France (Channel) – England European cross-border cooperation programme.
Street and circus arts, contemporary dance, current and world music, tourism, cinema and creative industries, heritage conservation…: cultural cooperation initiated between France and England includes a large number of varied projects. Mobility and residences of artists, circulation of art works, training, “master classes”, actions for social inclusion, participation of disadvantaged people, job creation… Through their joint projects, stakeholders of the cultural, tourism and heritage sectors are involved in contributing to the economic development of the Channel area and to the promotion of its common heritage, at a crossroads in history linking our communities.
This catalogue describes Franco-British cultural experiences that have been made possible thanks to financial support from the European Union between 2007 and 2013. The Région Haute-Normandie along with local authority partners from the programme welcome all of these initiatives, offering a wealth of learning opportunities for the development of new co-operation within the future European 2014-2020 programmes.
