Dear Parents and Students,

In this booklet you will find math activities that will help to review and maintain math skills learnedin fifth grade, skills reviewed again in 6th grade, and prepare your child for sixth grade Math. Theseactivities are varied and are meant to show how much fun and relevant math can be in everydaylife. These are activities that should be done throughout vacation, at the pool, at a restaurant, onthe beach, etc. They are not intended to be completed in that last 2 or 3 days before school

begins.

Calculator use: It is suggested that students not use a calculator in the first section, and then use acalculator as little as possible to complete the rest of the packet. Parents and students should discuss theactivities, and parents should check to see if the activities have been completed correctly.

All work completed should be returned to your childs sixth grade Math teacher at the beginning of the2010-2011 school year. Have a great time sailing into summer with math!

Due Date: August 30, 2010, the first day of school!Deadline: September 8, 2010.

Grading Weight: Will count for twice as much as a normal homework for the completion of the assignment.

On this page, we will focus on a trip to the pool. Josh and Sam are helping toorganize the Summertime Clubs swim meet. Complete four of the following
