Tire rotationYourvehicle’stiresareacriticalcomponenttooverallvehicleperformanceandvehiclestability Theusefullifeoftireswillvaryandisproportionaltotiretype,speedrating,ambientconditions,tireloading,tireinflationpressure,roadsurfaces,andindividualdrivingstyle,amongotherfactors Therefore,Mercedes-Benzrecommendsregularchecksforwearandproperinflationand,ifapplicabletoyourvehicle’stireconfiguration,tirerotation

Tirerotationscanbeperformedonvehicleswiththesamefrontandreartiredimensions Ifyourvehicleisequippedwiththesametiredimensionsallaround,tirescanberotatedbyobservingafront-to-rearrotationpatternthatwillmaintaintheintendedrotation(spinning)directionofthetire(onunidirectionaltires,anarrowonthesidewallindicatestheintendedrotationorspinningdirectionofthetire) Insomecases,suchaswhenyourvehicleisconfiguredwithstaggeredsize(differenttiresizes,frontvs rear),tirerotationsarenotpossible

TheU S EnvironmentalProtectionAgencyand,inCalifornia,theAirResourcesBoardhavecertifiedthattheemissioncontrolsystemsofyourvehiclecomplywiththeapplicableexhaustemissionstandardsforMY2014vehicles ThisvehiclealsocomplieswiththeapplicableCanadianMotorVehicleEmissionStandards

Tobecertainthattheemissioncontrolsystemsfunctionasdesigned,regularmaintenanceisnecessaryforcomponentsofthevehiclewhichaffectexhaustandevaporativeemissionscomposition

Thevehicleownerisresponsiblefortheregularmaintenanceoftheemissioncontrolsystem,aswellastheuseofpremiumunleadedgasolinewithananti-knockindexofatleast91(displayedonthepump)inallgasolineenginemodelsunlessotherwisespecified

Emission Control System Caution - Gasoline Engines

YourMercedes-Benzvehicleisequippedwithbothathree-waycatalystandaclosedloopoxygensensorsystemtocomplywithcurrentexhaustemissionregulations Keepyourvehicleinproperoperatingconditionbyfollowingourrecommendedmaintenanceinstructionsasoutlined

Thefollowinghastobeadheredto:

a) In all gasoline engine models, use only premium unleaded gasoline with an anti-knock index of at least 91 (as displayed on the pump) unless otherwise specified.Damagetotheenginecouldoccurifpremiumunleadedfuelisnotused RefertotheOperator’sManualforspecialprecautions

b) Leaded gasoline should not be used under any circumstances. Damagetotheemissioncontrolcomponentswillresult

c) In select models, the use of Ethanol (E85) is also permissible.ModelscapableofalsooperatingwithE85areidentifiedbyalabelonthefuelfillerflapreading‘PremiumgasolineorE85only!’ DonotuseEthanolfuel(E85)tooperateanyvehicleunlessitisspecificallyidentifiedasEthanolfuel(E85)compatible Damagetotheenginecouldoccurifimproperfuelsareused RefertotheOperator’sManualforspecialprecaution

d) The specified engine maintenance jobs have to be performed completely and at the required intervals. Correctignitiontimingandproperlyfunctioningsparkplugsforinstanceareimportantfortheservicelifeofthecatalysts

Failuretoproperlyperformthespecifiedmaintenancejobsmayadverselyaffecttheemissioncontrolsystemonthevehicleandreduceitsservicelife

e) The operation of the emission control system must not be altered in any way. Alterationsarenotpermissiblebylaw Inaddition,alterationsmayresultindamagetothecatalysts,increasedfuelconsumption,andimpairedenginerunningconditions

f) Irregular engine running conditions should be corrected immediately by an authorized Mercedes-Benz Dealer. Suchirregularrunningconditionscaninfluencetheproperfunctionoftheemissioncontrolsystem

Ifthe“CHECKENGINE”indicatorlampintheinstrumentclusterilluminateswhentheengineisrunning,itindicatesapossiblemalfunctionoftheenginemanagementsystemoremissioncontrolsystem

Emission Control System Caution - Diesel Engines

YourMercedes-Benzisequippedwithemissioncontroldevicestocomplywithcurrentdieselexhaustemissionregulationswherethevehicleiscertifiedforsale Keepyourvehicleinproperoperatingconditionbyfollowingourrecommendedmaintenanceinstructionsasoutlined

Thefollowinghastobeadheredto:

a) Diesel engines require Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) fuel (15 ppm Sulfur maximum) that meets the ASTM D975 standard FailuretouseULSDfuelcanseverelydamagethevehicle’sexhaustafter-treatmentdevice

b) Mercedes-Benz Canada Inc., approves the use of B5 biodiesel (standard diesel with a maximum of up to 5% biodiesel content) in all Common Rail Injection Diesel “CDI-engines” including BlueTEC AdBlue® variants.Dieselfuelscontainingahigherpercentageofbiodieselcontentwillcausedamagetoyourengineandarenotapproved Onlyuseapprovedbiodiesel Biodieselcanberefinedfromavarietyofrawmaterialsresultinginwidelyvaryingproperties ApprovedbiodieselmeetstheASTMD6751specificationsandhasthenecessaryoxidationstability(min 6h,provedwithEN14112method)topreventdamagetothesystemfromdepositsand/orcorrosion Theuseofnon-approvedbiodieselmaydamagethefuelsystem

Pleaseaskyourservicestationforfurtherinformation IftheB5biodieselblendisnotsufficientlylabeledtoclearlyindicatethatitmeetstheabovestandards,pleasedonotuseit TheMercedes-Benzlimitedwarrantydoesnotcoverdamagecaused
