Ce septième .rapport présente les résultats des récoltes effectuées
du 12 au 18 Novembre 1968. Les techniques de récoltes et d'étude ont
été les mêmes qu'aux précédentes campagnes.
MM. C. Cf~~œAGNAT et J.L CREMOUX ont effectué les récoltes et
communiqué les données hydrologiques.
Les tris, déterminations, dépouillement et la présentation des
résultats ont été effectués par M. F.CONAND sous la direction de
M.;. BLACHE.

Nous assistons depuis le mois d'Août à un refroidissement des eaux
sur la oete Nord jusqu'à la latitude de Cayar. Au Sud de cette zone, les
eaux sont encore chaudes et n'ont perdu en surface que 2 à 3° depuis la pré
cédente campagne (Août). On constate alors que toutes les familles d'eaux
chaudes sont encore représentées, mais que le nombre des individus a diminué.
Ceci est particulièrement sensible chez les Thunnidae, Cybiidae, Mullidae,
Pomadasyidae, Sphyraenidae.
La forte diminution du nombre des Carangidae semble être due à la
fin de la période de reproduction des espèces d'eaux chaudes de cette famille
alors que les espèces d'eaux froides ne sont pas encore mûres.
C'est au cours de cette campagne que nous observons les plus grosses
concentrations de larves de Clupeidae. En Août, l'aire occupée par S. eba
s'étendait vers le Nord jusqu'à 15°40. Des larves de S. eba sont encore récol
tées sur les stations côtières du Sud, sans doute en raison de la dessalure de
ces régions sous l'influence des fleuves, alors que partcat ailleurs, nous
rencontrons S. aurita. L'augmentation du nombre de larves d'Engraulis est très
marquée.
Les Myctophidae et Gonostomidae sont en légère augmentation, bien
que la thermocline ne se soit pas sensiblement déplacée depuis Août.
