Parce que le féminisme est une composante fondamentale de notre pacte Républicain, il se doit d'être un
message de tolérance et d'acceptation de l'autre.
Le mouvement féministe a mené de grandes luttes pour la cause de femmes (IVG, contraception,...).
Aujourd'hui, les grandes avancées en matière de liberté des femmes ont été accomplies en France.
Néanmois, il subsiste encore des situations d'inégalités salariales et professionnelles, qu'il convient de
corriger rapidement et des situations de violences et de fragilités que notre République doit bannir
d'urgence.
La journée du 8 mars, dite journée de la femme, a cette vertu principale de rappeler à l'opinion publique que
tous les combats menés par les féministes ces dernières années n'ont pas suffi à éffacer certaines inégalités et
certaines violences.
Toutefois, à bien des égards, cette journée unique peut produire l'effet inverse du dessein qu'elle poursuit.
En effet, le fait qu'il n'y ait qu'une journée de la femme par an, sous-entend que toutes les autres sont des
journées de l'homme. Cette posture est évidemment désastreuse et place l'engagement féministe au rang de
gadget politique que l'on sort une fois par an.
Par ailleurs, dans une certaine mesure cette journée continue à entretenir la victimisation des femmes dans la
société et la stigmatisation des hommes.Si le mouvement féministe est aussi égalitaire qu'il le prétend, il
devrait également promouvoir une journée de l'homme.
L'objet de ce débat est d'engager une réflexion sur le caractère ou non sexiste de cette journée, qui peut à de
nombreux égards, augmenter le clivage homme-femme.
Alors, pour ou contre la journée de la femme? La journée de la femme sert-elle réellement les femmes?
Nous tenterons de répondre à ces questions à travers les interventions éclairantes de nos invitées et à travers
les oeuvres d'un collectif d'artistes internationaux qui par l'expression de leur art tentent également de poser
le débat de la place de la femme dans nos sociétés.

CHANTAL JOUANNO: Chantal Jouanno est une femme politique française, championne de karaté et mère de trois enfants. Chantal Jouanno fait partie de ses femmes qui nous prouvent que rien n'est impossible. Après avoir été Secrétaire d’État à l’Écologie et Ministre des Sports, aujourd'hui elle est Sénatrice de Paris et Conseillère régionale d'ile-de-France. Pour elle, la politique, c'est: « les pieds sur terre, la tête dans les étoiles », avec comme base de son engagement 4 points cardinaux : sincérité de parole, sagesse des idées, sérénité de l’action et sobriété du comportement.
AUDE DE THUIN: Aude de Thuin, fondatrice du Women's Forum for Economy and Society , auteure de "Femmes, si vous osiez" sont premier livre dans lequel elle qualifie la journée de la femme comme "la journée du géranium en pot". Aude de Thuin est une femme qui donne envie aux femmes d'agir et d'innover sans complexes. Le 26 mars 2012, elle lancera la première édition d'un colloque de 24 heures non stop "Osons la France". Innovation, progrès, nouveaux modèles : ce colloque appelle à « réinventer le modèle français ». Elle est également en charge de la partie France et Europe de la fondation d'Eve Ensler, City of
Joy, une cité de protection pour les femmes au Congo.
KRISTIN EAGER KILLION: Kristin est une artiste interdisciplinaire à multiples facettes qui travaille à partir d'objets trouvés. Originaire du Midwest des Etats-Unis, Kristin a toujours eu un vif intérêt pour les notions de "re-naissance", de renouveau, ainsi que pour tout ce qui mêle le banal et l'inattendu. C'est aussi - et peut-être surtout - dans la question de ce qui fait la "valeur" d'un objet qu'elle puise son inspiration. Les œuvres de Kristin ont été présentées lors d'événements internationaux ainsi que dans des musées, galeries d'art et ambassades à travers le monde. Diplômée de la DePauw University, Kristin a vécu
longtemps à Paris et à Washington DC. Elle est mariée à David Killion, Ambassadeur des Etats-Unis auprès de l'UNESCO, et vit aujourd'hui à Paris.
LYDIA GUIROUS: Lydia Guirous est la fondatrice du club Future au Féminin et du think tank, "Des femmes au service de l'Homme". Diplômée de l’Université Dauphine, à 25 ans, suite à une expérience de discrimination dans le monde professionnel, elle s'engage pour la Femme et pour les femmes. En désaccord avec les discours et méthodes des associations féministes "classiques", elle prône un féminisme pragmatique, de rassemblement et refusant les discours victimaires et emprunts de
compassion qui ne font pas avancer les femmes. Elle milite pour que les femmes prennent toute leur place dans la société et dans tous les champs de la réflexion nationale. Son féminisme agit pour que le miracle du « mieux vivre, ensemble », devienne une réalité, et que la France devienne une «République métissée », admirée de tous, dans la continuité de sa glorieuse histoire…

Kk Laura Dimitrova
Laura Dimitrova was born in Sofia, Bulgaria. She graduated in textile and fashion from the National Academy of Arts, Sofia, Bulgaria, under professor Dimitar Balev. Since 1991, she has been a member of the Union of the Bulgarian Artists. Since 2010, she has been an associate professor in decorative arts at FPPE, “St. Kliment Ohridski” University, Sofia. She works in the fields of artistic textile, painting, and drawing and she has taken part in more than 40 art exhibitions and art projects in Bulgaria and abroad. Dragana B. Stevanovic
Dragana B. Stevanovic is a visual artist from Serbia. She graduated (MA) in 2005 from University if Arts, Novi Sad, Serbia. She took part in numerous solo and group projects and exhibitions, both internationally and nationally. In her work she uses photography, painting, and drawing as medium. In her work, Dragana is oriented in everyday life situations and visual phenomenon that often invisibly influences and shapes our physical and psychologically life. Through the questions of gender, body as subject/object and similar references, Dragana makes the platform for reinterpretation of construction of identity. Contact: [email protected]
Christine Herzer
Christine Herzer is a poet and visual artist. She is the author of ‘I cheated on Chanel N°5’ [Dancing Girl PRESS, 2012] and ‘i wanted to be a pirate’ [h_ngm_n Books, 2009]. She received her MFA from the Bennington Writing Seminars. Her work has appeared in numerous international literary magazines, art reviews and online publications such as Fence, American Letters & Commentary, The New York Quarterly, Drunken Boat, Spiral Orb, BlazeVOX, Inertia, WoodCoin. She is the 2012 recipient of a 6-month Balmoral Scholarship for La Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris, where she is developing the work “LOVE IS HARD BECAUSE LOVE CONTINUES” composed of masking-tape drawings, a curated yellow Post- It-Wall made of 1000 notes as well as handmade language objects. Anja Gysin
Born on the 01.01.1979 in Solothurn, Switzerland, Anja Gysin is a dancer, choreographer, and performer. She has created her own solo and group productions since 2006 in collaboration with different dancers, musicians and actors. She has had many performances in Germany, Luxembourg, Austria, and Switzerland. She was awarded with the “Werkjahresbeitrag 2010” and with 6-month residency in the Cité International des Art in Paris. "She is a remarkable dance talent." (Madeleine Schüpfer, Oltner Newspaper). Beatrijs Albers and Reggy Timmermans
Beatrijs Albers' is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in Brussels and Paris. Her artistic practice researches issues like identity, space, markings and territories. In her videos and installations, she uses such diverse subjects as design, monuments and customary ways of dealing to question and break through all kind of barriers. Recent shows include the Museum M, Leuven (B), Argos, Brussels (B), Netwerk, Aalst (B), Maison Gregoire, Brussels (B), ConcentArt, Berlin.
Reggy Timmermans est un artiste multidisciplinaire qui travaille à Bruxelles et Paris. Il s’approprie des situations qu’il dédouble par une méthode intermédiaire Il part de la conceptualisation de l'espace d’exposition qu’il veut comprendre à partir d'autres “entrées“ et avec laquelle il aborde et définit le gouffre entre l'idée et la réalité. Edith Payer

Sandra Lorenzi
Sandra Lorenzi questions our culture and its foundations, our behavior, and its origins, through her sculptural practice. Ancient references, age-old forms or popular fictions are sources she calls on to rethink and imagine a world inhabited by creatures and objects that are surprising, yet familiar. Annie Waldman
A New York-based filmmaker, Annie P. Waldman graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Waldman worked under several documentary filmmakers in the New York area before directing and producing her short documentary, So the Wind Won’t Blow It All Away. The piece has been showcased at numerous festivals, including Sundance, CMJ, the St. Louis International Film Festival, and PBS. She currently a resident at Cité Internationale des Artes in Paris, France, working on her next project. Contact: [email protected]
Shelby Donnelly
Shelby holds a B.F.A in Printmaking and Drawing from Washington University in St. Louis (2002) and her M.F.A degree from Tyler School of Art, Temple (2008). Shelby is an artist and educator living in Philadelphia, PA. Ms. Donnelly primarily works with found and silk-screen printed fabrics that are sewn into two-dimensional and three-dimensional collages. The work engages in formal conversations using image and contextual fragmentation that investigate a singular moment in time. Contact: [email protected]
Kaari and Roni Martin
Together with her husband Roni Martin, Kaari Martin directs Compañia Kaari Martin, an independent dance group established in 2002. The works of the company have broadened the conception of flamenco as an international contemporary art. The group is at the top in contemporary flamenco, and in its repertoire the flamenco technique is combined with the freedom of contemporary dance. Martin is acknowledged abroad. Finnish musician, composer and lyricist Roni Martin has provided the music for dance and multimedia works and films and acted as a producer. Anne De Geer
Anne De Geer was born in Stockholm in 1947 and has lived in Linköping since 1970. She has been a member of KRO, the Swedish Artists Organisation, since 1992. Danielle Dussault
The French writer Danielle Dussault was born in Quebec on October 16, 1958. She has published novels and short stories. She has also written scripts for cinema television. The texture of her work is based mostly on a mixture of dreamlike atmospheres and music. Her workshops are directly related to the mindfulness practice of the moment. She recently composed a set of songs that are still in works in progress and where the thread is related to the writing of a novel, called Dresses Of The Night. Contact: [email protected]
