L’ORT est le plus grand réseau éducatif non gouvernemental d’écoles professionnelles et technologiques à travers le monde. Depuis 132 ans, ORT a aidé, dans plus de 50 différents pays, des individus à réaliser leurs rêves de construire un avenir fructueux pour eux-mêmes et leurs familles. Chaque année, environ 300,000 étudiants sont inscrits dans un programme ORT quelque part dans le monde. ORT compte plus de 800 écoles et projets qui peuvent être trouvés en Bulgarie à Brazil, d’India à Italie et Israel. Les diplômés d’ORT reçoivent un cadeau de plus précieux: l’éducation et les compétences nécessaires pour une vie productive et un gagne-pain durable dans un monde de changement et de technologique-intense.
En plus d’appuyer ORT, Le Gala 2011 d’ORT Montréal nous permettra de recueillir les fonds nécessaires pour les écoles et les programmes suivants à Montréal: l’école Akiva, BBYO, École de Formation Hébraique, École Maimonide, JPPS/Bialik, Maccabi Canada, Solomon Schechter, UTT/Herzliah et Yaldei centre de développement.
Votre appui aidera des étudiants à réaliser leur plein potentiel et devenir des membres productifs et autonomes de la société. Il aura un impact très positif sur l’avenir de notre jeunesse dans le monde entier. Il leur permettra de concurrencer sur le marché mondial.

ORT is the largest non-governmental educational and training network of vocational and technological schools in the world. For 132 years, ORT has been helping individuals in 50 countries to achieve their dreams of building a successful future for themselves and their families. Each year, some 300,000 students are enrolled in an ORT program somewhere in the world. ORT’s 800 plus schools and projects can be found from Bulgaria to Brazil, from India to Italy and Israel. ORT graduates receive a most precious gift: the education and skills necessary for a productive life and a sustainable livelihood in today’s rapidly changing, technology-intense world.
In addition to supporting ORT around the world, the 2012 ORT Montreal Gala will help raise urgently needed funds for the following schools and programs in Montreal: Adath Israel, Akiva School, BBYO, École Maimonide, Hebrew Academy, Hebrew Foundation School, JPPS/Bialik, Maccabi Canada, Solomon Schechter, UTT/Herzliah and Yaldei Development Centre

ORT Educating for life
ORT Montreal is proud to honour Nathan Wasser at the 2012 ORT Montreal Benefit Gala.
Nathan was born in 1930 in the thriving Jewish community of Sandomierz, Poland to Hershel Wasser and Esther Sobel. After having witnessed the horrors of the Holocaust, he immigrated to Canada with his surviving father, brother and sister, arriving at “Pier 21” Halifax in 1948.
With the encouragement of various philanthropic organizations, a $20 loan, and with his wife Shirley Antecol by his side (whom he met on a blind date in 1952) he created a new life filled with Jewish values for his three children and eight grandchildren.
“ORT” was a key ingredient in creating this life of great significance. After the war ended, in the DP camp in Munich Germany, ORT was responsible for educating him and giving him the tools which led him to develop a business in electrical contracting. In Canada, through an ORT program he learnt to speak English which essentially provided him with the wherewithal to flourish in all his endeavours. He has never forgotten ORT’s profound impact on his life and has always and will always attempt to “pay it forward” with heartfelt gratitude.

T he Doobie Brothers are an American rock band. The band has sold over 40 million albums worldwide throughout its career. In 2004, the group was inducted into The Vocal Group Hall of Fame.
As one of the most popular California pop/rock bands of the ‘70s, The Doobie Brothers evolved from a mellow, post-hippie boogie band to a slick, soul-inflected pop band by the end of the decade. Along the way, the group racked up a string of gold and platinum albums in the U.S., along with a number of radio hits like “Listen to the Music,” “Black Water,” and “China Grove.”
In 2010 The Doobie Brothers released a new album entitled “World Gone Crazy”. The group continues to tour heavily and remains a popular concert draw.
