Following the 8th European and international meetings Heritage and Tourism on July 4,Madani Sissoko, Councillor in Segou, Boubacar Keita, coordinator of the project Segou andMadani Niang Mayor of Segou extended their stay in France in order to meet actors of theANVPAH & VSSP network involved in Heritage and study French heritage policies ofprotection and enhancement of the heritage of the old centers.

• first meeting held with the technicianof the ANVPAH & VSSP July 8 in Bayonne. The various technicianspresented their activities within the network as part of the protection and enhancement of heritage: networkingactivities, relays, awareness, training around protection the old centers.

meeting with professionals of the anvpah & vss_Bayonne

This time was also the occasion for us to present to our parteners, tools and policies of protection and enhancementof heritage, notably protection zones of urban and landscape architectural heritage (ZPPAUP), currently transformingin AVAP in (area of development of heritage), saved areas, cities of art and History (VPAH) ... and give them anoverview of the new heritage law currently in preparation.

• The second meeting was held on July 9 with Mrs. Goff Soazick Duchâteau Architect buildings France (ABF) inBayonne. She explained her role towards communities in the framework of the protection of saved areas.Indeed, all work located in these protected areas and within 500 meters around, should give rise to aconsultation of the ABF and its agreement.

meeting with Soazick Le Goff Duchâteau, Architect_Bayonne

• Our Malian partners also visited the Basque Museum in Bayonne, cities of Bayonne (VPAH + VSS),Saint-de-Luz (ZPPAUP / AVAP) and Biarritz.

• These meetings were finalized with a time of working with the commission twinning and decentralizedcooperation Angoulême-Segou July 12 in Angouleme.

These meetings have been highly appreciated by our partners who hope to implement all the knowledge acquiredduring their stay in France.
