My greatest wish is to help you drink some good wine; there are some new wines which I found really encouraging, and I hope that you will also enjoy them, because this is the great joy of my profession. But my real “challenge” is to offer some important labels at prices you will find nowhere else. Believe me, it is really worth it. Besides, even in the world of wine, the period of excessive mark-ups finished some time ago. And, praise be, the producers have realised this too. As far as new tendencies are concerned, I have marked “natural” wines with the “ symbol, these are organic wines which I very much liked. But I am a convinced believer that, before being “healthy and natural”, the wine must be ‘good’ and we must enjoy it. I love those wines able to express their territory, straightforward wines, real and good wines. And I hope you spend, with my good friends here, a pleasant evening. The palate is fine, not too voluminous but full andunexpectedly soft. A fine acidity enhances its freshness.

MAROCCOLI⎪2011 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 28,00 €SyrahSyrah is a noble Mediterranean vine which gives of its best in dry andlight-filled places. This is a great Sicilian Syrah, multi-faceted and veryintriguing. Spices combined with red fruit jams, including blueberriesand blackberries. Chocolate with mint, black pepper and cinnamon arealso present in the flavour. It is all embracing, leaving no spaces in themouth. Rich and soft with smooth tannins.

An intense and fruity aroma, a great structure but atthe same time with a mineral component which today makes it one of thebenchmarks for the white wines of Southern Italy. Aromas of cut grass, exoticfruits and Mediterranean macchia. Rich and elegant. Persistent and varietal.

An easy wine but with a great personality. An excellent meetingbetween the body of Nero d’Avola and the elegant spiciness of Syrah. Notparticularly alcoholic, smooth but balanced between softness deriving from carefulvinification and well balanced acidity. And that’s enough of the compliments.

A red wine withyouthful flavours and aromas of cherry, strawberry, pomegranate and prickly pear,in the mouth with a fine tannin texture supported by great freshness. A certainty.

MOSCATO DI NOTO⎪2015 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 24,00 €Moscato BiancoI realise that Gewurztraminer continues to be one of the most popular tablewines but the time has come for some real alternatives and this Moscatoreally has no need to be envious of its Alto Adige friend. A dry aromaticwine, not cloying, but with great freshness and, on the nose, dog rose, whitepeach, jasmine, green tea, orange flower and the scent of the sea, alwaysaccompanied by a fine acidity. Try it and believe me.

SANTA CECILIA⎪2010 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 30,00 €Nero d’AvolaSanta Cecilia is certainly the symbol of the birth of new wine making inSicily and I wanted to put on the list what I consider to be the best vintage.A wine that is an expression of elegance, power, balance and enhancementof the unique aromas of the white soils of Noto. In the mouth are flavoursof fruit, sour cherry and ripe plum mixed with citrus, carob and liquorice.There are not many bottles in the cellar. It is unforgettable.
