Cant Stop, RHCP (Romanek, 2003)
2
Authenticity of performance is shown through the performance shots. The whole band are on a stage set up with all the instruments as if they are performing to an audience, this conforms to Funk Rock conventions as it suggests the band have real talent. The CU instrument shots are conforming to stereotypes of Funk Rock. Also the ‘costume’ and appearance of the band members who have a naked chest and tattoos suggest a chaotic and alternative personality. The camera follows the lead singer, he is given prevalence and this is an example of voyeurism. Can’t Stop, Red Hot Chilli Peppers (Romanek, 2003)
