SYNOPSIS

Yuri, 16, has lived all his life in Gagarine Towers, a vast red-brick housing project on the outskirts of Paris. He dreams of becoming an astronaut. When plans to demolish Gagarine Towers leak out, Yuri joins the resistance. With his friends Diana and Houssam, he embarks on a mission to save their home, which has become his "starship".

INFOIris Brey is a Franco-American author, critic and contributor to major French media such as Les Inrockuptibles and France Culture. Her previous book SEX AND THE SERIES exa-mined perspectives offered by series such as Girls, Transparent and Fleabag and was adapted into a docu-series. Brey has been a major commentator of the anti sexual harassment movements in France and leading voice in favor of the Césars Awards walk-out led by actresses including Adèle Haenel.

SYNOPSIS

The female gaze exists. The term was coined in 1975 by film theorist Laura Mulvey to highlight how women were and still are considered as mere objects in film, existing only through the male gaze. The female gaze is a means of refocusing on women and female body onscreen as proper subjects. What is its purpose? To change our way of looking, to feel the emotions of women on screen and to share their experience. Through clips, archival materials and testimony from contemporary filmmakers, the documentary aims to create a new history of cinema through the female gaze while generating a poesis of images: that is, a new shared visual language.
